Chapter 477: Chapter 477: Fired?
After the Qingming Festival holiday, Sheng Tang went to school as usual.
Gu Shiting called her: "Grandpa is fine. He said he couldn’t breathe that morning, and the family was scared. Later, tests showed it was just age, his esophagus was a bit blocked. There were no other problems."
Sheng Tang also breathed a sigh of relief.
"It’s good that he’s okay."
"I mentioned you to Grandpa again, specifically about your donation to your classmates. He was very happy, said you’re very kind and generous. He still wants to see you soon," Gu Shiting added.
Sheng Tang: "..."
She was silent for a while before speaking, "Didn’t we agree not to talk about dating? Let’s discuss it when you figure out what you want."
Gu Shiting immediately realized he was being presumptuous.
He had been carried away by the moment.
Quickly changing the subject, Gu Shiting talked about other things. Neither mentioned nor questioned the kiss they had shared last time.
Time passed quickly, and at the school gate, Sheng Tang ran into Gu Jiahui.
A strong-looking bodyguard followed him, carrying many books.
"Where are you going?" Sheng Tang asked, "Were you expelled?"
Gu Jiahui: "You should wish me well! I’ve been admitted to a university in the United States. I don’t need to attend school anymore; I’m starting to prepare for going abroad."
"So soon?"
"Yes." Gu Jiahui’s beautiful eyes crinkled, "Reluctant to see me go?"
Sheng Tang smiled a bit.
Gu Jiahui had the bodyguard move his things out, and he chatted with Sheng Tang.
Sheng Tang asked him, "Not pursuing Yang Mingming anymore? I heard she’s planning to take the college entrance exam."
Yang Mingming heard Gu Shiting was staying to take the exam in China, so she gave up going abroad.
She was determined to become schoolmates with Gu Shiting.
"You don’t understand," Gu Jiahui smiled slightly, "Sometimes you have to retreat to advance. If I keep pressing forward, my attention will soon become worthless."
Sheng Tang: "..."
This boy, so young yet so cunning, like a coal seam full of scheming thoughts.
"Besides, I have a private plane. Anytime I want to come back and find her, it’s extremely easy. Even without it, today’s transportation and communication are so advanced, truly making ’distance like a stone’s throw away’ a reality," he said.
Sheng Tang was convinced.
"Well, study hard," Sheng Tang said.
Gu Jiahui hesitated for a moment, then took out a paper from his backpack and wrote down a string of English words and numbers.
"This is my address and phone number in California. If you need anything, you can contact me," Gu Jiahui said.
Although he hadn’t gone yet, his father had already bought an apartment next to the school for him.
And installed a landline.
"You’re not leaving right now, are you?"
"No, I’m leaving in August. It’s just to be prepared," he smiled.
Sheng Tang took the paper from his hand.
She didn’t chat with him much and turned to go back to the classroom.
She casually stuffed the paper into her backpack. Even if she had a big problem, she wouldn’t reach out to Gu Jiahui for help. She didn’t save his new landline number in her phone.
After school, Sheng Tang went home and encountered two men in the elevator.
They got off at the floor below her apartment. Sheng Tang rarely ran into her neighbors and couldn’t tell if they were new move-ins.
However, she felt uncomfortable for no particular reason.
When she got home, Gu Shiting was already there.
She glanced at him.
He took her backpack and explained with a bit of grievance: "Grandma invited me over for dinner, she’s making fried yellow croaker today."
Grandma must have thought they were still in a quarrel, trying to mediate for the young couple.
"Okay," Sheng Tang didn’t say anything further, changed her shoes, and went inside.
