Chapter 469: Chapter 469 I Care About You
Sheng Tang’s mind was blank for quite a while.
It felt like she was in the middle of winter, opening the window after a long night, seeing the snow falling outside, the world extending infinitely, with endless white everywhere.
A gust of cold wind hit her face, causing Sheng Tang to shiver abruptly.
She pushed Gu Shiting forcefully.
She had been practicing Sanda with Gu Shiting and working out for almost half a year, so her arms were not weak.
Sheng Tang lifted her gaze and stared at him intensely.
Gu Shiting was initially frightened by her dark, intense eyes, then worried, feeling the urge to hold her tightly, not letting her go.
Sheng Tang stopped him.
"You..." Sheng Tang’s voice was low, making it hard to tell if she was angry or not, but her speech was not smooth.
Her words were stuck in her throat, unable to come out.
So she turned around and quickly went downstairs.
Gu Shiting froze for a second, then hurriedly chased after her.
"Don’t move!" Sheng Tang suddenly turned around, yelling fiercely at him, "I’m not leaving, I’m just going back to my room. You go back!"
Gu Shiting stood still.
He stood there like an innocent child, feeling he had done nothing wrong, yet was being scolded due to a disagreement with a parent, feeling a bit scared and a bit reluctant.
Sheng Tang returned to the guest room.
After closing the door, she remained silent for a long time, not even having dinner.
Around ten in the evening, Sheng Tang took a shower, planning to sleep as she had to get up early for school the next day. Gu Shiyan sent her a message.
"Tangtang, there’s a puppy at your door, it’s been standing there for almost an hour, looking a bit insane," Gu Shiyan said.
Sheng Tang: "..."
She had quieted down for so long and had cleared up her confusing thoughts.
She planned to talk to Gu Shiting tomorrow.
But seeing his current state, it seemed he wouldn’t be able to sleep well tonight.
Sheng Tang sighed, "What kind of fate is this!"
She opened the door and let Gu Shiting in.
Gu Shiting’s head was down, looking very guilty, but his hands at his sides were tightly clenched.
He was suppressing his anger—anger born of grievance.
"Have a seat," Sheng Tang said.
Gu Shiting sat on the sofa in her room, and Sheng Tang sat on the bed.
Their relationship had always been good. Because Gu Shiting was often afraid of the dark, in Sheng Tang’s eyes, he was like a gender-neutral infant needing her protection.
Of course, her gaze would occasionally become confused, after all, Gu Shiting was a tall, muscular young man.
His firm chest and overly handsome face interlaced with Sheng Tang’s baby impression, making an impression in a fleeting moment.
Several times, Sheng Tang thought about marriage, and the first person she thought of marrying was Gu Shiting.
For instance, he would leave a light on for her at night, waiting for her to come home, no matter how tough her day was, home would always offer her a sense of warmth; or he would be wholeheartedly devoted to her, leaving no room for anything else, giving Sheng Tang a sense of security—one that assured her of never being betrayed.
Of course, that was just a thought.
"Ting, I don’t agree with what you said. You said that ’it’s not that I don’t understand, but that I don’t care.’ That’s not true," Sheng Tang said, "I do care about you."
Gu Shiting’s heart pounded several times as he finally dared to look into her eyes.
"I care about you a lot," Sheng Tang said, "Your significance to me is not something ordinary people can compare to. But, I don’t want to have a romantic relationship with you."
