Chapter 455: Chapter 455 Anonymous

Sheng Tang shook her head.

"I know about Sun Xiaojun’s situation too. If he had parents or other sources of income, I wouldn’t donate this much," Sheng Tang said.

The class monitor felt this made sense.

Sun Xiaojun’s family indeed had no income.

The students’ donations were his only lifeline.

"This hundred thousand yuan is also money I earned easily; it’s not from my parents, so I want to donate it all to him," Sheng Tang added.

The class monitor was deeply touched.

His family was well off too; he wasn’t a kid who hadn’t seen the world, yet Sheng Tang’s hundred thousand yuan still stunned him.

He also wanted to donate more, but as a student, he could only use his pocket money; it wasn’t appropriate to take his parents’ money for charity.

So, the class monitor decided to donate five thousand, which was the most he could do.

He didn’t expect Sheng Tang to offer a hundred thousand right off the bat.

And she wanted to remain anonymous.

Thinking back to Bai Shaolin’s attitude, Sheng Tang was simply delightful in comparison; the class monitor was on the verge of becoming her fan!

Bai Shaolin’s twenty thousand was a lot too, full of goodwill. But her intentions were not pure; she actively requested a trophy or certificate, which greatly diminished her goodwill.

Compared to Sheng Tang, the difference was clear.

"Give me the donation account, and I’ll transfer the money over during lunch. Remember, this has to be anonymous; you need to keep it confidential," Sheng Tang said, "Later, I’ll still contribute 1300 together with Jiang Baocu, of which 1000 is from Jiang Baocu."

The class monitor agreed.

He sent an account number to Sheng Tang’s phone; the account was his own.

The class teacher had asked him to collect the donations, compile a report, and present the exact amount to her, so she could report it to the school and then transfer the money to Sun Xiaojun.

The class monitor felt very uncomfortable seeing the class teacher grandstanding, up until now.

"Sheng Tang, the top five donors can receive a certificate," the class monitor said, "Actually, it wouldn’t be a big deal if you revealed your name. Compared to all the other students, your donation is the most justified."

Sheng Tang smiled: "I’m not afraid of my classmates knowing; I’m afraid Sun Xiaojun will find out. If he feels uneasy because of the large amount, it wouldn’t be good and would defeat my original purpose.

Moreover, every penny is an act of kindness; you can’t rank them. I don’t think it’s very appropriate to issue certificates either.

However, if it helps raise a bit more money for Sun Xiaojun, then let it be inappropriate."

The class monitor, filled with grievances, poured his heart out to Sheng Tang.

"I know it’s inappropriate, but...," the class monitor sighed.

He told Sheng Tang everything that Bai Shaolin and the class teacher had said.

Sheng Tang furrowed her brows.

"As you said, the more money, the better Sun Xiaojun’s chances of survival. Let them grandstand if it helps," the class monitor finally said.

Sheng Tang smiled faintly, making no further comment.

She went to the cafeteria with the class monitor.

After getting their food and sitting down, Sheng Tang took out her phone and transferred the donation to the class monitor.

After school in the afternoon, the students stayed behind to hand in their donations one after another.

Only a few students donated cash; most transferred through bank cards or other payment platforms to the class monitor.

"You can go home now. Be careful on your way," said the class monitor.

Bai Shaolin became anxious and stood up to ask, "Aren’t we going to tally the donation amounts? Didn’t you say there would be certificates?"

The other students looked at her.

In their eyes was a bit of reproach: Bai Shaolin was being too blatantly self-serving, wasn’t she?

Bai Shaolin noticed but didn’t care, thinking, "What’s with those looks? When my donation amount is revealed, won’t you all be impressed?"
