Chapter 428: Chapter 428: A Well-Matched Pair
The first day of school went smoothly.
Sheng Tang was in a good mood.
She went home and showed the report card issued by the school to her parents.
Her parents and grandmother were extremely happy.
"Tangtang, at this rate, getting into any university will be a piece of cake," her mother said joyfully.
Sheng Tang smiled, "I hope for even better."
Then she mentioned about treating her friends on Saturday and going to the Gu Family’s on Sunday.
Her grades had improved so much that her parents, in high spirits, agreed to everything.
"Grandma, I’ll help you buy groceries!" Sheng Tang said, "And help you cook as well."
"No need, I’ll help Grandma. You just accompany your friends when the time comes," her mother said.
During the first few days of school, the classmates were all unsettled, and the classroom discipline was terrible.
The final exam papers were being handed out one after another.
Sheng Tang compared the results and found them to be exactly as she had expected.
She calculated her scores; if she hadn’t held back, she could have ranked in the top four of the grade.
There were minor conflicts in the class because Jiang Wei cried in public.
Her deskmate scolded the boys sitting behind them, "She didn’t do well this once, why do you have to compare her to Sheng Tang? Is Sheng Tang that great?"
Sheng Tang felt unjustly implicated.
Yan Jinzhi and Jiang Baocu couldn’t stand it and wanted to argue, but Sheng Tang stopped them.
"Don’t give her any attention! If you really fight with her, she’ll just be more smug," said Sheng Tang.
Qi Lin, who sat behind her, smiled a little upon hearing this.
Other than this, there wasn’t much else.
Feng Yijin was very well-behaved, not interacting with anyone except Wei Chengjun. She didn’t talk to her former little cliques and lived like a loner.
Bai Shaolin didn’t stir up much trouble either. Due to her and Chen Shen’s behavior during the winter break, the classmates were all displeased with them, and there was some resentment towards both of them in the class.
Another matter was about the sponsored student, Sun Xiaojun, the second top student in the grade. Although he showed up on the first day of school, he had been absent ever since.
High-achieving students attract more attention, so even without making an effort to find out, Sheng Tang knew that Sun Xiaojun was ill.
It seemed quite serious; he had been hospitalized.
The weekend arrived as scheduled.
Sheng Tang invited five classmates to her house.
Grandma and mom made a very lavish lunch to treat them.

Li Ye wasn’t very enthusiastic.
"Sun Xiaojun is sick. Has your class organized anyone to visit him?" she asked Sheng Tang.
Sheng Tang said, "I don’t think so."
Li Ye responded with an "Oh," and didn’t say anything more.
She knew Sun Xiaojun had a bit of a crush on her, but at her current stage, she didn’t dare consider emotional matters, focusing only on her studies and going abroad.
She really wanted to visit him, but feared going alone might lead to misunderstandings and give him unfounded hopes, causing him unnecessary distraction.
She also didn’t know what exactly his illness was or how serious it was.
The conflict in her heart was unknown to others.
On Sunday morning, Sheng Tang had her school bag and change of clothes all packed and ready.
Gu Shiting’s car was waiting for her downstairs.
Today, Sheng Tang wore a coat, and underneath it, the bright yellow sweater they had bought with the Gu Family last time; unexpectedly, Gu Shiting was wearing the same one.
The two of them wore matching outfits by coincidence, which took Sheng Tang by surprise.
Gu Shiting, however, was in an excellent mood and found it to be a delightful coincidence.
He really wanted to take Sheng Tang around and show off their couple outfits to others.
When they arrived at the Gu Family’s house, Sheng Tang and Gu Shiting entered together, just as Mr. Gu was coming downstairs.
Seeing them, Mr. Gu smiled and thought to himself, "What a perfect pair! My son has such good taste!"
