Chapter 75: One Week Later.

A week had passed since Kyle’s meeting with Nakamura, and life had taken a turn for the better. This could be because of the universe favoring him or would it be more accurate to say he made his own luck?

The changes had been swift, almost too swift to believe, but Kyle was rolling with the momentum.

He had adhered to his plan of joining a gym but made sure to keep it separate from Aiysha’s workplace. He couldn’t allow both of his lives to blend into one another, Kyle knew how important it was.

He wasn’t about to create unnecessary complications, especially with someone he didn’t want to add to his harem because if this happened, it would be tricky.

His control over his "system" was something he took seriously, and while he had the power to decide who joined, he had no intention of expanding that group unnecessarily.

Despite his careful approach, the soreness in his muscles from his intense workouts reminded him that there were always consequences for pushing his body harder. But it was all part of the process.

His goal was clear: get stronger, healthier, and more disciplined in every aspect of his life. The results were starting to show, but the workouts weren’t the only thing occupying his thoughts.

The lottery tickets he had won still sat unused, and with no expiration date in sight, there was no rush to cash them in. It was something he would hold off on until the right opportunity presented itself.

In the business realm, things were progressing as well.

The papers with Distort Company had been signed, signaling the first significant step into the new world he had set his sights on.

Now, Kyle had one foot firmly planted in the entertainment industry, and the future was beginning to look bright.

He had kept in contact with Jane, Ella, and Calista over the past week, though he hadn’t spent any time with them in person. Absence, he reminded himself, made the heart grow fonder.

But Ella had been an especially interesting development.

A meeting had been arranged with Isabella, marking the beginning of what Kyle hoped would be a promising career for the young woman.

Ella, for her part, had begun to feel renewed hope.

She still didn’t know the full extent of Kyle’s wealth and influence—only that he was rich—but this newfound distraction had been a welcome escape from the weight of her personal grief.

She hadn’t attended her parents’ funeral, despite Jane’s best efforts to convince her to go. Jane had tried to explain that it wasn’t about the parents—it was about Ella getting closure, this was about Ella not anyone else.

Ella needed to say goodbye, to find peace in her own heart.

But she refused, too consumed by her own pain to face the reality of her parents’ passing.

That week, however, Kyle had something else to celebrate: the completion of his nightclub.

The construction work had finally been concluded, and Collins had surpassed expectations.

Kyle couldn’t help but feel speechless as he looked over the final product.

Collins had poured in more effort than Kyle had anticipated, ensuring that the space would leave a lasting impression.

It was a gamble Kyle had taken on a whim, and it had paid off.

He was grateful to Collins, so much so that he gave him a generous $10,000 as a thank-you, certain that Collins would share the bonus with his team.

With the physical construction finished, Kyle turned his attention to the legalities—getting the necessary permits and licenses through James.

Everything was coming together smoothly. The nightclub was on track to open its doors within the week.

Drinks had been ordered, supplies were in place, and the final touches were being made.

The club’s design was particularly unique—the walls were completely soundproof. Instead of letting the outside world interfere with the clubbing experience, Kyle had opted to keep the noise and energy contained within the building, enhancing the atmosphere of the venue.

It was a feature inspired by a club he had visited when meeting Nakamura.

He was excited to see how it would be received by the public.

As for Aiysha, she had been conspicuously absent during the past week.

Kyle couldn’t help but wonder if she was avoiding him, though he didn’t dwell on it.

It wasn’t something that bothered him, at least not enough to make a fuss about it.

If anything, it worked out in his favor.

It gave him more space to focus on his other endeavors.

Meanwhile, Jones had yet to present the financial quota to fix up the apartment.

Kyle knew Jones well enough to understand that he wasn’t going to burden him with the full expense—he would never expect Kyle to take on all the costs.

Jones was a considerate man, and Kyle knew that the amount would be manageable when the time came.

But for now, he wasn’t too worried about it.

The weekend arrived, bringing with it a sense of optimism.

The sun rose, casting a warm glow over the city, and Kyle couldn’t help but feel fortunate. It had been less than a month since he received the system, and already, his life had changed in ways he never could have predicted.

His health had improved, his appearance had brightened, and he felt better than he had in a long time.

"What a wonderful day!" Kyle exclaimed, stretching dramatically on his bed.

The feeling of satisfaction was overwhelming, and for a moment, he thought he might just be having the best day of his life.

But just as quickly, a knock at the door interrupted his thoughts.

Kyle paused, wondering who it could be. He immediately considered the possibilities: only a few people could be at the door at this hour, but Jones was the one he was hoping for. Kyle rose to his feet and hurried to answer, eager to see his friend. He wasn’t in the mood to entertain any women at the moment; his mind was elsewhere.

When he opened the door, he was greeted by Jones, but something was off.

Jones didn’t have his usual carefree expression, and Kyle immediately sensed that something was wrong. This wasn’t a casual visit—it was something more serious. Without a word, Kyle ushered Jones inside, immediately reading the situation. He knew it had to be about money.

They had been stretching their finances thin lately, so it wouldn’t be surprising if they had finally reached their limit.

But as much as Kyle guessed, there was no way to be sure. The tension was palpable, but he didn’t want to jump to conclusions without hearing Jones out first. Jones sat down in the chair, his face still etched with worry. For a full minute, he didn’t say anything. Kyle, not one to let silence linger for long, finally broke it.

"It looks like your misfortune just might be my fortune," Kyle said with a teasing smile, hoping to lighten the mood.

But his words only caused Jones to clamp his mouth shut, and within seconds, he was on his feet, glaring at Kyle.

"How dare you...!" Jones barked, charging toward him.

"W-Woah! Take it easy, man!" Kyle scrambled to get some distance, but in his attempt to step back, he tripped and landed on his rear end.

Before Kyle could recover, Jones was reaching for his neck, but instead of anger, all Kyle heard was uncontrollable laughter. Jones had tears rolling down his cheeks as he collapsed back into the chair, still chuckling.

"You nearly shit yourself!" Jones exclaimed, wiping his eyes as he tried to catch his breath.

Kyle groaned, frustrated that Jones had turned the tables so quickly. He had expected this much from his friend. If the issue was finances, Jones would have been quicker to present the quota—he knew it was their ticket to financial freedom.

"You are way too old to be doing this. You have kids, for crying out loud," Kyle said, getting back on his feet with a shake of his head.

"We never grow up," Jones replied with a grin, settling back into the chair.

"Yeah, tell that to the police, R. Kelly," Kyle shot back, but he couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation.

"Ha! Nice one," Jones acknowledged with a chuckle, but then he fell silent, clearly not ready to divulge why he was really there.

"Why are you here?" Kyle asked, cutting to the chase.

Jones hesitated for a moment before leaning forward slightly.

"I just need a break from Aiysha... You see, she’s ovulating..."

An awkward silence fell between them, and Kyle froze.

It wasn’t what he had expected to hear.

"Yeah, maybe I shouldn’t have told you that," Jones said, looking sheepish.

"YOU THINK? GET OUT!" Kyle shouted, though he couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation.

Jones simply chuckled as he stood up, clearly amused by Kyle’s reaction. Jones finally managed to get under Kyle’s skin.
