Chapter 480: Arrogant!

Morgana and Oberon wasted no time approaching them.

Since the three newcomers had appeared near the back of the vast throne room, close to the enormous double doors, the two elders had to walk away from the gathering and toward them.

"Dorian..." Oberon spoke first. His frowning gaze was, of course, fixed on the completely unbothered Elion. "Is this who I think it is?"

Dorian folded his arms. "That depends entirely on who you think it is."

Oberon’s frown deepened. "You know exactly who I mean."

Morgana ignored the two men and studied Elion from head to toe. Her crimson eyes narrowed slightly.

There was no mistaking the boy’s appearance. Even if he had changed considerably from the descriptions they had received, his facial features were still recognizable, but his mana core cultivation was not.

The reports had described an Adept Mage.

The young man standing before Morgana was unmistakably a High Mage, and an unusually powerful one at that.

Then there was the woman beside him. Morgana could not even begin to tell what her strength was.

Ignoring the fact that she had the most perfect figure and facial features Morgana had ever seen, there was simply something unnatural about how flawless the woman looked.

Even though Morgana had never cared much for physical appearances, she could not help but feel a hint of envy toward the supreme perfection standing before her.

The young woman smiled pleasantly at the gathered vampires.

However, that smile only made several elders even more nervous as they tried, and failed, to read her strength.

Oberon’s eyes also drifted toward Zenith at some point, momentarily forgetting about Elion’s existence altogether, only to be shaken by the realization that he could not read her at all.

Despite that, he could feel that the depths of her power were immeasurable. Ignoring her presence and focusing his attention solely on Elion would be a grave mistake.

Oberon was not about to disrespect a hidden powerhouse who was clearly far more powerful than any of them could begin to understand.

Who knew how she would react?

More importantly, the air surrounding her felt even more oppressive than Lucius’s. That meant there was likely no one in their entire clan who could match her.

So instead of immediately rushing forward to reprimand the young man who had deflowered and impregnated their young princess, Oberon decided it would be wiser to first give the beautiful woman before them the proper respect that an existence of her strength deserved.

If she took offense at them ignoring her presence, she might very well wipe them all from the face of the world.

Still, Oberon could not help wondering what Dorian had been thinking, bringing such a figure before them so casually without informing anyone beforehand.

He gave Zenith a light dip of the head.

"To what does my humble Vampire Clan owe the pleasure of having such an esteemed existence in our presence?"

Dorian had originally worried that Zenith’s demonic nature would raise concerns among his fellow elders; however, he was pleasantly shocked when she assumed a human form.

Even though her facial features and proportions remained the same, the fact that she could conceal every trace of her demonic nature with nothing more than a thought and a snap of her fingers was astonishing.

Zenith smiled as she gave Oberon a calm look.

In truth, it took a considerable amount of self-control not to snap at the proud vampire for the disrespectful way he had looked at Elion moments earlier, but she stopped herself for the sake of not making things difficult for Elion.

"Do not mind me," she said casually. "I am merely here to accompany my Lord Husband."

As she spoke, Zenith reached out and took Elion’s hand, holding it possessively against herself, even cushioning it softly between her soft mounds without a hint of shame.

The effect of her shocking declaration could not be understated. Every elder in the throne room stared at them with mouths agape.

"Husband?" Morgana repeated slowly. Oberon’s eyes shifted from Zenith to Elion, then back again.

The room fell completely silent.

Dorian closed his eyes and exhaled through his nose. He had known this moment was coming.

He had simply hoped it would somehow be less troublesome when it arrived.

Zenith’s smile remained calm and pleasant, enjoying their shocked reactions. With this, they wouldn’t so easily brush her hubby off without thinking about how that might trigger her ire.

Elion, meanwhile, looked entirely unbothered by the sudden attention.

"Yes," Zenith said. "My husband."

Several elders looked as though they had temporarily forgotten how to breathe.

The young man who had impregnated their princess had arrived with an unfathomably powerful woman openly calling him her husband.

Whatever expectations they had formed about Elion Nova before this meeting had just been shattered beyond repair.

After the initial shock faded, Oberon cleared his throat.

In truth, he did not know what to make of the situation.

Clearly, whatever information they had gathered about this Elion Nova needed to be discarded immediately.

His physical appearance was different, his strength was far greater than they had been told, and he had an unfathomably powerful existence openly claiming him as her husband.

Oberon gave Dorian a pointed look, hoping his fellow vampire might care to ease the burden that had been so brutally thrown onto them with some answers.

But to his dismay, Dorian did not seem eager to do such a thing.

He merely stood beside the boy with his arms folded, looking as though he had already chosen a side and had no intention of helping the rest of them understand what was happening.

As much as the elders were studying Elion and Zenith, Elion was studying them as well. However, after sparing each of them no more than a single glance, his patience ran out.

There was something far more important he had come here for.

Elion cleared his throat. "More importantly, would you mind telling me where my beautiful Celeste is?"

"...."

’’Arrogant!’’

Oberon, Morgana, and the other elders all had the same thought at once. It was not merely his words, nor was it the casual way he had spoken.

Every vampire present was a powerful Sage. They could all tell when someone was examining their strength, and they had clearly felt Elion’s gaze passing over them.

What truly made them seethe was the fact that he had spent no more than a second on each of them before losing interest entirely.

He had looked at the most powerful elders of the Vampire Clan and then gone on to treat them as though they were nothing more than air!

And then he had the audacity to ask for Celeste afterward!

Not Princess Celeste, not the heir of their clan, and not their future monarch. He had called the newly ascended Progenitor Vampire... My Celeste.

’Arrogant.’

Far too arrogant.

Oberon’s expression darkened, and Morgana’s eyes narrowed.

Several elders behind them allowed their auras to stir unconsciously, the oppressive weight of multiple Sages beginning to fill the throne room.

Elion noticed, but he simply did not care for their wounded egos. Zenith noticed too, but unlike Elion, she cared very much.

Her pleasant smile remained in place, but a subtle pressure began to spread from her body, gently crushing the rising auras before they could fully take shape.

The elders stiffened as the atmosphere in the throne room suddenly turned suffocating.

Dorian could only close his eyes, look to the side, and stifle a laugh that he had failed to hold despite his best efforts.

Now he wasn’t the only one who had the liberty of suffering beneath this demon woman’s overbearing love for Elion.

The last couple of hours he had spent speaking with her had been perhaps the most stressful in the entirety of his long life.

"You stand within the sacred throne room of the Vampire Clan," Oberon said coldly. "Before elders who have lived far longer than you can imagine, and yet you speak as though you are addressing servants."

Elion raised a brow. "I simply asked where Celeste was."

"You called our princess... your Celeste."

Elion’s expression became faintly confused. What was wrong with what he had said? "She is my Celeste."

The room went silent, as a quiet laugh escaped Dorian’s lips, prompting everyone else to give him an odd look

"Ehem..." He cleared his throat awkwardly, putting on a serious expression with great difficulty, "My apologies..."

Even he could tell Elion was doing this on purpose; however, despite the fact that he didn’t know why, he didn’t plan to stop him.

’I will let my proud fellow clansmen suffer for once.’
