Chapter 418: Capable Wife

Zenith would never harm his cute little princess. Nor would she leave Isla unattended somewhere unsafe, at least, Elion liked to believe that. He was just curious, so he had asked.

Zenith immediately placed one hand over her chest, feigning a wounded expression as she pouted, "Here I am, giving myself over to you, and you ask about another woman?"

Elion laughed.

Of course, he knew that she was only joking.

Zenith did not come across as the jealous type. In that regard, she was somewhat similar to Mira. However, she was clearly someone who enjoyed teasing him whenever she had the chance.

She had been like that from the beginning.

Even back when she first kidnapped him while he was bathing beneath the waterfall, there had always been something playful in her personality. Everyone had their own quirks, and Elion was not one to complain. Things were far less boring that way.

Zenith did not keep him waiting for long, "Isla is safe," she said. "We are staying in Haven. She became rather excited after we entered the city yesterday, so we ended up wandering around until late. She is asleep right now."

Elion nodded. That sounded like his Isla.

Zenith reached out again and gently palmed his cheek.

"I sensed your presence as soon as you appeared in this world," she said. "I am sorry it took so long for me to come to you. I thought I could wait until you were alone."

Her eyes curved slightly, "But in the end, I became impatient and decided to do this instead." She gestured toward the frozen group around them.

Elion smiled, "It is no problem. I was also wondering how I would be able to find you."

His smile deepened, "It is good that my woman is so capable. Now I can worry less."

Zenith’s expression softened.

Elion looked at her more carefully, "But how are you fitting into human society with your appearance?"

Even without her horns, Zenith still possessed that beautiful blue sheen to her skin that would effortlessly draw attention.

Zenith smiled. She snapped her fingers, and in an instant, the colour of her skin transformed.

The blue faded, replaced by a natural human tone that matched the people of this world far more closely. With that single change, she looked completely human.

Elion’s mouth opened slightly in surprise.

She looked like a different person. Her features were still unmistakably hers, but Zenith’s blue skin had always been her most striking and endearing trait, at least to him. Seeing her without it felt strangely wrong.

It wasn’t unpleasant or anything, but it was just odd.

Elion studied her for a moment and nodded quietly, as though reaching a firm conclusion, "I like blue-skinned Zenith better."

Zenith blinked, and then her smile widened.

"Fufu, I am happy my husband thinks so," Zenith said, her smile softening. "I will keep your preference in my heart."

Elion chuckled cheekily. Zenith glanced at the frozen world around them, then looked back at him.

"I cannot keep this state for too long, so I wanted to ask what you plan to do after this. I am very much looking forward to meeting my other sisters, but you seem to have a destination in mind before then?"

Elion nodded, "Ah, yes. These people have an interesting proposition, so I am going to hear them out."

He briefly explained the situation with the Legacy World and why he needed to enter. Other than the possible gains waiting inside, he still had some debts to settle with certain people. However, he stopped speaking when he noticed the knowing smile on Zenith’s face.

"What?" he asked curiously.

"Are you not curious?" Zenith asked. "Remember, I told you that I already know everything about you. And when I say everything, I mean everything. Every little detail, including your academy life and that incident near the end."

Her smile widened slightly. "Do you not want to know how?"

Elion smiled, "It is about time, yeah?" He leaned back slightly. "So tell me, my beautiful demon lady. How do you know so much about me?"

Zenith wiggled her index finger in front of her.

"If you think about it, the answer is rather obvious. It was always right in front of you."

She then explained how she had been trapped in a time loop through multiple regressions within the trial.

Elion’s eyes widened slightly. Was such a thing truly possible?

"And during one of those loops," Zenith continued, "we used one of my abilities, and you shared every single memory of your life with me."

Elion raised a brow, "Wait, I did what!?"

It felt odd being told he had done something he had no memory of doing.

"Yes, you did," Zenith said lightly. "After so many loops, we tried many things together. Events began to overlap after a while. You initially suggested placing the Harem Seal on me to achieve the same result, but we decided against it."

Elion listened quietly.

"Since we eventually started trying to evade the trial, it was better if the trial had no other reason to connect us and punish you even more, or perhaps even track me through that link. So, during the latter loops, I kept you in the dark a few times."

Elion nodded.

He understood somewhat. It was a strange situation, but believable enough given everything that had happened.

"And that is also how I found out about that Liora girl selling you out."

Elion frowned, "You found out that much just from my memories?"

Zenith shrugged, "The clues were already right in front of you. Who else could it have been?"

Her gaze sharpened slightly.

"Remember, her family specialises in dream affinity. Using an artifact that interfered with her dreams was not wise, Hubby. She probably realised something was wrong as soon as you used it on her, or perhaps afterward. I do not know the exact nature of her family’s affinity, but I once knew someone with a similar affinity, and she could use a very rare divination technique to detect psychic attacks and trace them back to the source."

Elion’s eyes narrowed.
