Chapter 1104: Chapter 92: Spark_2
Actually, he wasn’t thinking about defense. As long as he pushed these guys out, the cabin would no longer be a dead end. Although it was unclear if they could outrun the demons, it was better than being eaten like canned food right here.
"What reliable or unreliable! What’s going on!"
Blue Jade screamed, picked up a chair, and smashed it fiercely against the claws that were scratching Bola. The chair shattered instantly. She lifted the broken chair leg and stabbed it hard into an exposed arm, causing blood to gush forth, washing over Blue Jade from head to toe.
Now she felt as if she were in a dreadful slaughterhouse; either she slaughtered these demons, or they slaughtered her. Another thing was, one of the butchers had already gone mad.
Bola appeared crazy to Blue Jade, and using the term "crazy" wasn’t quite accurate. He was like someone with severe morning temper, awakened from a sweet dream, and immediately plunged into a frenzy of combat.
Mortals were powerless. Bola couldn’t attain the same great power as Lorenzo, unable to easily chop down the demons. Bola could only clumsily do all he could.
Though laughable, this was the limit of what Bola could achieve.
His eyes were blurred by the spilled blood, turning everything in his vision into a crimson sea, including the demons’ faces, which became even more grotesque and abhorrent.
As if at this moment, he was standing in hell.
Bola wasn’t afraid; he was already accustomed to it. If a Death God did exist, Bola might even greet him with a "hello, old friend."
Reflecting carefully, it was the same back then: he and Blue Jade were trapped in a flood of demons, but at that time, Bola at least had the Armor of Original Sin. And now all he had left was a revolver low on ammo and a folding blade full of nicks.
Just like back then, Bola remembered he almost lost consciousness inside the Armor of Original Sin. Blue Jade saved him when he was near death, pulling him out of the prison of death.
Bola’s figure completely merged with the seaweed of blood and flesh, claws and sharp teeth, and some scarlet filaments like tentacles. They adhered to Bola’s skin, sucking in his blood.
Keep moving forward, push these damned creatures out.
But gradually, Bola’s steps slowed. Blue Jade tried to pull Bola out, but the frenzied claws and tentacles gave her no chance to get close. In the dim light, Blue Jade momentarily couldn’t find Bola’s outline.
"Bola!"
Blue Jade called anxiously, Bola’s strategy was wrong; his strength couldn’t contend with so many demons. In this standoff, he eventually fell.
The demons’ writhing intensified, tentacles flailed wildly, nearly touching Blue Jade standing behind.
Her mood wasn’t all that bad; she had long thought she would die here. Compared to the expected death, Blue Jade had already lived a few minutes longer, which was quite a gain, no matter how she thought about it.
Just...
"Bola, what the hell are you doing!"
Blue Jade shouted helplessly once again.
From beginning to end, she never understood Bola’s thoughts. This guy first slept like the dead, then spouted some strange words and, with his morning temper, clashed with the demons.
Throughout the process, there was a strange somnambulistic air. In the end, he fell into the demons’ tearing without a sound.
At that moment, Blue Jade couldn’t even feel any sadness, though she had no time for sadness anyway.
Blue Jade picked up the blood-soaked chair leg with one hand, the wood cracked, revealing sharp wood spikes. She was considering whether to fight to her life’s end or aim for her throat to give herself a quick death.
Bola already died ahead of her; she had done her duty to the last moment.
"You saved me once; now it’s my turn to save you, Blue Jade."
Suddenly a voice sounded; Bola wasn’t dead. This guy raised his head again, his face ferocious and no different from the demons.
"I remember your injury was just your arm, right?"
Without waiting for Blue Jade to say anything, Bola growled, hoisting his paused steps once again.
Bola wasn’t dead; he was just too exhausted. The recent silence was while recovering his strength. Though his body was covered in wounds, he could still move, release energy, and futilely resist—and that was enough.
Gunfire erupted abruptly, emptying the remaining bullets, instantly shattering the door in front, along with the demons against Bola.
Amid the wailing, flesh disintegrated.
Bola summoned his strength, driving out death with one breath through the door.
"Run!"
As Bola pushed the demons out of the cabin, Blue Jade sprang into action. She clutched her injured arm, dashed past Bola’s side, swiftly and nimbly overcoming obstacle after obstacle to rush into the corridor.
Cold air struck her face, dispersing the heat on her cheeks. Blue Jade couldn’t quite believe she could escape; she thought she would die in this accursed place, but now she saw a chance to survive.
There were no demons in the corridor; it seemed nearby demons had been gathered here. Turning back, she could see demons slain in the earlier fight, lying on the ground, being casually trampled by other demons, turning into unrecognizable blotches of blood.
"Bola..."
Blue Jade called the name joyously, never expecting that Bola would also have a reliable day, making Blue Jade both surprised and delighted.
