Chapter 1062: Chapter 74: The Deception

The night owl skimmed over the low sky, emitting an ethereal cry, the sound resounding between the cities, circling above the fireworks, spreading briefly, falling into everyone’s ears.

Galron stepped aside, revealing the door behind him. His deputy seemed unwilling to give up resistance just like that, his hand still gripping a dagger, but Galron raised his hand, stopping his action.

"They won’t kill the lord."

Due to pain and blood loss, Galron’s face was somewhat pale, but his tone was very confident, as if he firmly believed this point.

Lorenzo’s hand was already on the door, hearing Galron’s words, he retracted his hand, looking at him with confusion.

"Is this your reason for compliance? But why are you so sure?"

"Because isn’t it also the Silent Sea you all want to go to? I felt it on you, you are also a monster from the Silent Sea, right?" Galron coughed violently, then smiled and looked at Bola again, "And you, what you desire is revenge, right?"

"So... how do you make someone give up revenge?"

Galron looked into Bola’s eyes, softly questioning.

There was no answer, not even time to answer, Galron leaned against the wall and slowly sat down, tightly tying the bandage on his ankle, the pain making him gasp, then he spoke with difficulty.

"That would be to make him lose the pleasure of revenge..."

Bola frowned, tightening the Funeral Bell in his hand, pressing it against Galron’s forehead, as long as he pulled the trigger, Galron’s head would burst into a mist of blood in an instant.

Galron shook his head, looking fearlessly at Bola, regardless of life or death, tonight he had nothing to lose.

He looked expectantly at Lorenzo and Bola, seemingly eager to know their next reaction. When they saw Froki’s appearance, their expressions would definitely be very interesting.

Lorenzo glanced at Galron, then Secret Blood soared, dense Scale Armor covered his arm, and after it was fully coated, it continued to proliferate and expand, like a dark Kite Shield blocking in front of him.

For Lorenzo’s transformation, the deputy was still somewhat shocked, but Galron showed no reaction at all. Once he realized Lorenzo’s aura was similar to the monsters of the Silent Sea, he seemed to accept it all very easily.

"I’ll open the door, Bola."

Lorenzo wasn’t sure what was behind the door, he set up the Scale Armor on his arm, the other hand dragging the Staff Sword, slowly pushing open the door, dim and flickering light spilled down.

Nothing happened, Lorenzo pushed the door fully open, everything inside the room came into view.

There were no monsters, no traps, behind the door was merely a simple room, its decor very plain, hard to imagine that at the deepest part of this building, this was all there was to protect.

But if there was something strange, it would be the nauseating stench inside, a faint grinding sound arose, Lorenzo saw chains being dragged on the ground.

Following the chains with his eyes, he finally found the end of the chains. Lorenzo’s figure froze, along with Bola who followed behind him.

"No... this is impossible."

After a brief silence, Bola said incredulously, he walked past Lorenzo and into the room, following the chains until he stood in front of that guy.

Bola was unwilling to believe what he saw, he stared intently, trying to find some flaw, but the other’s performance was perfect, just like it was real.

"Damn it!"

Bola angrily kicked that guy, who cried out painfully, didn’t resist, just hugged his head, curled up into a ball, letting Bola beat him.

"How can! This be!"

After venting for a while, Bola directly raised the Funeral Bell, pressing it against that guy’s forehead.

"Stop, Bola!" Lorenzo shouted loudly at this sight.

"He’s useless now!" Bola responded.

"Then what meaning is there in you killing him?" Lorenzo asked.

Listening to Lorenzo’s words, Bola took a deep breath, finally lowered the Funeral Bell in his hand, staggered back like Galron, and sat against the wall, eyes vacant.

"See, this is the worst feeling. You lived with hatred for so long, only to find on the eve of revenge that everything has vanished into smoke."

Galron sat outside the door, he couldn’t see this, but he could guess.

Lorenzo walked over, that guy curled into a ball, like a beast, avoiding harm, forced himself into the corner.

"You... are Froki Willgardson?"

Lorenzo looked at this guy before him with some pity, in Bola’s description he was so tall and brave, no storm or giant wave could take his life, yet now he was so degrading, dirt-covered, his aged face etched with panic, eyes clouded, trembling constantly under Lorenzo’s gaze.

A piercing smell of urine came, spreading a puddle of pale yellow liquid underneath him, his expression contorted and weeping.

Behind the door, as if relieved, Galron had tried his best to protect Froki, just to prevent anyone from seeing him like this. Now he could no longer protect him, whether it be honor or dignity, it all became worthless.

He let out a long sigh, slowly saying.

"No matter your purpose, now it has all fallen through."

Galron could hear the disturbance coming from afar, the screeching of metal against metal, silhouettes flickering within the fireworks, tonight’s chaos was far from over.
