The first hints of dawn filtered through the cavern mouth, painting the rocky walls in soft grays and pale blues.

Materna stirred slowly, shifting with a low, contented sigh. Her breasts, still enormously swollen from the night before, rose and fell like two living landscapes.

"So it's already morning," Shin commented in a low tone, climbing out from between her breasts.

There was no need to wake up the other girls, as both he and Materna would spend the morning preparing themselves.

Just at that moment, a shadow moved across the edge of the cave entrance. It was a large monster with frightening horns.

Materna immediately tensed up, but before she could move or do anything, Shin raised a hand without even standing up.

"No need to panic," he said calmly.

Outside, a massive creature slowly dragged itself across the Dead Plains. It looked vaguely like a quadruped beast, but its body was thin and uneven, as if something had been hollowing it out from the inside.

Its legs sank slightly into the barren soil with every step, each movement sluggish and unsteady.

It didn't notice the cave. Or maybe it simply didn't even have the energy to think about attacking anyone.

After a few dozen meters, its pace slowed even further. Its body trembled once, then twice, before finally collapsing onto the ground with a heavy, lifeless thud that echoed faintly across the plains.

It was still breathing, but only barely. Its chest rose and fell in weak, uneven motions as the invisible force of the soil continued to drain what little remained inside it. It wouldn't recover. It would simply fade away there, slowly, until nothing was left.

"I'll go wake the others," Shin said, rising to his feet. "Wait here, and don't worry, we won't end up like that." He flashed a confident smile.

"I'm not worried," Materna replied. "It's just that seeing any living being die like that is sad," she admitted softly.

Even if it was a monster, an enemy, she still hated seeing such things. Materna loved all life forms, after all. It was a shame a succubus like her could never bear children.

Shin moved on, waking everyone up and helping the girls get ready.
