Chapter 447: Chapter 447: To Kill with a Borrowed Knife
The next day.
Li Wei was enjoying an exquisite breakfast prepared for him by the Mage Association.
The Vice President of the Mage Association was outside, requesting to see Li Wei.
Li Wei was a bit puzzled. ’Why would the Vice President of Flying Flower City be looking for me?’
"Please let him in," Li Wei said.
Hilaya walked out and returned with Abak, the Vice President of the Flying Flower City Mage Association.
Abak bowed to Li Wei and said, "Honorable Grand Mage."
Li Wei looked at him and asked, "Why are you looking for me?"
Abak said, "It’s like this. Recently, a swarm of Flying Magical Beasts has been attacking the Hundred Flowers Garden outside of Flying Flower City. I was hoping you, Grand Mage, might be able to help us deal with them."
"Our President specializes in Natural Magic, and I’m not skilled in Attack Magic either. We heard that you, Grand Mage, are a powerful Elemental Mage from the Elemental Tower, so we implore you to lend us your aid."
"Of course, the Mage Association wouldn’t ask you to act for free. As compensation, we are prepared to cover the cost of your long-distance teleportation."
Upon hearing this, Li Wei considered it for a moment, then nodded. "Alright. Where is the nest of these Flying Magical Beasts?"
Abak said awkwardly, "Apologies, but we haven’t been able to locate their nest yet. However, the Flying Magical Beasts show up to wreak havoc in the Hundred Flowers Garden every morning at nine o’clock sharp."
Li Wei said, "I understand."
He glanced at the time and said, "It’s almost time. Let’s go."
Abak quickly thanked him, "Thank you for your help, Grand Mage."
Li Wei replied, "We each get what we need."
He hadn’t really wanted to help, but the Mage Association was willing to cover his teleportation fee back to the Elemental Tower.
Besides, it’s hard to refuse a request after you’ve accepted someone’s hospitality.
Li Wei didn’t like owing favors.
It was better to do a small favor and clear the debt.
After all, dealing with a few Magic Beasts wasn’t a difficult task for him.
Soon, under Abak’s guidance, Li Wei arrived at the Hundred Flowers Garden outside the city.
The Hundred Flowers Garden was a vast botanical garden outside Flying Flower City, home to over a hundred varieties of flowers native to the region.
Flying Flower City’s main income came from these exotic flowers.
When Li Wei arrived, he saw that many of the flowers in the Hundred Flowers Garden were gone.
The bare patches of earth were particularly conspicuous.
It was an unpleasant sight, like a bad skin rash.
Abak looked into the distance and said, "The Flying Magical Beasts will be here soon. We’ll be counting on you, Grand Mage."
Li Wei nodded and waited quietly where he stood.
As nine o’clock approached, a cluster of black dots appeared on the horizon.
The dots flew rapidly toward the Hundred Flowers Garden.
As they drew closer, Li Wei got a clear look at the Flying Magical Beasts.
A peculiar expression crossed his face. They were giant Flower-Picking Bees.
It was a dense swarm, numbering in the hundreds at least.
Each Flower-Picking Bee was half the size of a person.
Among the swarm were even larger Flower-Picking Bees that looked much stronger; the longest of them exceeded three meters in length.
Compared to the ones next to them, they looked like a different species altogether.
BZZZZZ!
The buzzing of the Flower-Picking Bees’ wings reached Li Wei’s ears.
The entire sky above the Hundred Flowers Garden was filled with the droning sound.
The gardeners in the Hundred Flowers Garden fled in a hurry.
Abak shouted, "Grand Mage!"
Li Wei didn’t answer. He conjured a Fireball in his palm.
The Fireball shot toward the swarm in the air.
A look of confusion appeared on Abak’s face. ’What can one little Fireball do?’
’Is Li Wei just trying to test the strength of these Flying Magical Beasts?’
That was the only explanation he could think of.
The Fireball flew toward the swarm. Many of the Flower-Picking Bees noticed it and swerved to avoid it.
But the Fireball was also dodging the Flower-Picking Bees.
Abak’s eyes widened. ’Could his aim be this bad?’
With so many Flying Magical Beasts, how could he fail to hit a single one?
He couldn’t help but glance at Li Wei with suspicion.
’Could this guy’s Grand Mage title be a fake?’
’His Magic is complete garbage.’
Even though he wasn’t skilled in Attack Magic, he wasn’t so bad that he’d fail to hit a single Flying Magical Beast with a Fireball Skill.
Abak said hastily, "Grand Mage, just use a large-area Tier Four Spell! All these Flying Magical Beasts are below Tier Three."
Li Wei watched the sky calmly and said, "Don’t be hasty."
Abak was speechless. Left with no other choice, he looked back up at the sky.
He gradually noticed that something was off.
How did the Fireball manage to fly into that dense swarm without hitting a single Flower-Picking Bee?
Under Li Wei’s precise control, the Fireball reached the center of the swarm.
Suddenly, an extremely violent Magic Fluctuation erupted from within the Fireball.
The Nuclear Secret Technique had activated the latent Power hidden within the Fire Element.
This increased the power of the seemingly ordinary Fireball by several dozen times.
The Fireball expanded violently, its color gradually turning blue.
The Flower-Picking Bees also sensed the danger and desperately tried to fly away.
But the Fireball’s expansion speed far exceeded the bees’ flying speed.
In just a few seconds, the once-inconspicuous Fireball had swollen into a massive, blue super-Fireball with a diameter of over a hundred meters.
The blue Fireball blazed fiercely in the sky.
The Flower-Picking Bees shrieked and wailed in the flames before being reduced to ash.
The ash scattered across the Hundred Flowers Garden, becoming the finest fertilizer for the flowers.
Of the hundreds of Flower-Picking Bees, fewer than twenty managed to escape.
The lucky survivors didn’t dare to linger and fled immediately.
The Fireball burned in mid-air for more than ten minutes before all the trapped Flower-Picking Bees were incinerated.
As the flames gradually dissipated, Li Wei looked at Abak and said, "It’s done."
Abak was already staring wide-eyed, completely dumbfounded, and looking at the scene before him in disbelief.
’Is that really the Fireball Skill?’
He had never seen such a spell before.
The power was simply too absurd.
A single, tiny Fireball Skill had just wiped out hundreds of Flying Magical Beasts.
After coming to his senses, Abak couldn’t help but look at Li Wei with profound shock.
’So this is a Grand Mage from the Elemental Tower?’
’So ridiculously overpowered!’
Just as Li Wei was about to leave, the roar of thunder suddenly echoed from the sky.
BOOM!
A bolt of lightning streaked in from the horizon, coming to a stop above the Hundred Flowers Garden.
Bella’s hair flickered with blue electricity, and arcs of lightning sparked in her eyes.
She scanned the Hundred Flowers Garden below and roared, "Who killed the City Lord’s Flower-Picking Bees! Show yourself if you have the guts!"
Li Wei was stunned.
He looked at the furious Bella, then back at Abak, feeling that something was very wrong.
Li Wei raised his hand and shot out a small Fireball.
The Fireball flew toward Bella.
Bella whipped her head around, and a bolt of lightning shot out, destroying the incoming Fireball.
Only then did she notice Li Wei.
Bella looked slightly surprised. She quickly descended in Li Wei’s direction.
"Li Wei, what are you doing here?" Bella asked, puzzled.
Li Wei said awkwardly, "The person you’re looking for is probably me."
Hearing this, Bella froze for a moment before realizing what he meant. She flew into a rage. "Li Wei, you’re Kira’s lackey!"
As she spoke, she prepared to fight Li Wei.
Li Wei quickly shouted, "Calm down! This is a misunderstanding!"
