Chapter 394: Chapter 394: Space Spear, Dimension Slash
CRACKLE! SIZZLE!
CRACKLE! POP!
The Poison Dragonfly’s wings burst into flames, emitting thick smoke and a pungent stench.
It struggled in its death throes.
The Poison Dragonfly violently snapped its own long proboscis, spraying a stream of green venom at Li Wei from the broken appendage.
It was trying to take Li Wei down with it.
Li Wei’s eyes narrowed as he activated the Flame Rule.
There were no signs of Casting whatsoever.
The puddle of venom before him instantly ignited.
In the blink of an eye, it was burned to nothing.
Even the stench was incinerated into oblivion.
This was an attack on the level of a Rule; even the scent particles were disintegrated.
Even the most Basic Level of Rule Power was far beyond what the Poison Dragonfly could withstand.
The Basic Level Flame Rule unleashed its power.
The Poison Dragonfly was incinerated from the inside out, turning to ash.
WHOOSH!
The ashes scattered on the wind.
"My Poison Dragonfly! I’ll kill you!"
The Summoner was incandescent with rage when he saw Li Wei kill the Poison Dragonfly.
The Poison Dragonfly was an extremely rare Exotic Summoned Beast he had gone to great lengths to acquire.
The Poison Dragonfly’s death was like losing a limb.
Forty percent of his combat effectiveness came from the Poison Dragonfly.
Hearing this, Li Wei turned his head, his pupils reflecting the dancing flames.
The enraged Summoner suddenly felt a tremor of fear originating from the depths of his soul.
As he met Li Wei’s gaze, his mind went completely blank.
It was as if the entire world had been consumed by fire.
By the time he came to his senses, his back was drenched in a cold sweat.
In the end, Li Wei refrained from using the Basic Level Flame Rule on him.
"Fire Dragon Skill!"
A Fire Dragon Head, dozens of meters wide, materialized in mid-air. Its massive jaws opened, unleashing an incredibly powerful suction force.
It yanked the Three-headed Griffin and the two Summoners backward, pulling them toward the Fire Dragon’s maw.
SIZZLE!
A Flying Magical Beast fell into the Fire Dragon’s maw before the two men.
The instant it touched the Fire Dragon, its entire body was engulfed in searing flames.
In the blink of an eye, it was reduced to a blackened cinder.
Terror filled the two men’s faces.
The Three-headed Griffin flapped its wings frantically, trying to escape.
But one Fireball after another rained down from behind, their explosions disrupting the rhythm of its flight.
The Three-headed Griffin lost its balance and was swallowed whole by the Fire Dragon.
Sensing his connection to the Three-headed Griffin sever, the Summoner’s face went deathly pale. He hastily shouted at Li Wei, "We surrender! We surrender!"
The man beside him glared at his companion, his face a mask of resentment, but he didn’t voice any objections.
If they didn’t surrender, they would surely die here.
Even a Tier Five High Level Three-headed Griffin couldn’t withstand the Fire Dragon Skill’s attack.
If they fell in, death would be certain.
Seeing that the two had surrendered, Li Wei canceled the Fire Dragon Skill.
WHOOSH!
The Three-headed Griffin emerged wretchedly from the flames.
Its once-majestic feathers were scorched, matted in sticky clumps against its body.
Two of its eyes had been burned blind.
It was a pitiful sight.
Seeing that the Three-headed Griffin was still alive, the Summoner quickly recalled it to his Summoning Space.
A Summoned Beast could recover from its injuries quickly within the Summoning Space.
At the very least, he could save the Three-headed Griffin’s life.
The two men glanced at Li Wei, silently took out their contestant Identity Cards, and tossed them to him.
Li Wei snatched the Identity Cards out of the air.
Having lost their Identity Cards, the two men began to glow with a white light, on the verge of being eliminated from the Secret Realm.
The Poison Dragonfly’s owner stared resentfully at Li Wei and demanded, "What’s your name?"
Li Wei ignored him.
The two men vanished in the white light.
Whether through surrender or fatal injury, contestants would be teleported out of the Secret Realm and disqualified from the competition.
However, when danger struck, you couldn’t count on the organizers to save you in time.
After all, Magic has no eyes; a single careless moment could lead to injury or death.
The slightest mistake could mean not even a corpse would be left behind.
Eiris flew to Li Wei’s side. "You’re truly powerful," he said. "You almost had me fooled."
Li Wei chuckled. "Not at all. I’m just particularly good with these few spells. I’m not as impressive as you think."
Eiris looked at him and let out a knowing laugh.
"I know."
Li Wei glanced at him but didn’t press the issue. He looked down.
He spotted an arena not far away, revealed after the forest had been washed away by a tsunami.
He quickly pointed. "Look! There’s an arena over there."
Eiris said, "Let’s go take a look."
The two of them descended quickly toward the arena.
WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
Hearing the rush of wind, Li Wei turned his head.
Others had spotted the arena as well and were rushing toward it.
The pair immediately accelerated, racing to claim the arena first.
Eiris and Li Wei exchanged a glance. Li Wei asked, "You or me?"
Eiris replied, "You take it. I’ll stay outside and intercept anyone else."
"Alright."
Li Wei stepped onto the arena.
The moment he did, the arena, which was covered in a Magic Array Pattern, began to glow.
This signified that the arena was now occupied.
The light shot into the sky, visible to all.
After a moment, the light gradually faded.
A voice sounded in Li Wei’s ear.
"Occupying Arena 17. One Point awarded per minute. Competition Item 17 unlocked."
"Item 17: Teleportation Spear! Cost: 300 Points."
"The wielder of the Teleportation Spear can teleport to marked locations. Up to three locations can be marked. Use is restricted to within the Secret Realm."
Li Wei looked surprised.
In the right hands, the Teleportation Spear could produce astonishing results.
However, obtaining the Teleportation Spear wouldn’t be easy.
He would have to hold the arena for at least five hours.
And the entire competition was only three days long.
If the competition was fierce, it might be impossible to hold a single arena for five straight hours.
Li Wei put these thoughts aside for now.
He looked up and saw several figures rapidly approaching in the distance.
SWOOSH!
A figure vanished in mid-air.
Li Wei’s heart skipped a beat, and his guard went up.
VMMMM!
The hum of an activated Magic Array.
Eiris looked back in surprise. He hadn’t expected someone to enter the arena so silently.
He hadn’t detected them at all.
A figure materialized in front of Li Wei.
The man wore a silver Mage Robe.
Li Wei knew at once that this was the Space Mage who had just vanished into thin air.
The man had used Teleportation to get directly onto the arena and challenge him.
Li Wei felt a little exasperated. ’Five hours?’
It hadn’t even been a minute, and a challenger had already appeared.
The Space Mage looked at Li Wei, and without a word, launched an attack.
"Dimension Slash!"
A pitch-black Dimension Slash cut through the air, silently devouring everything in its path.
Li Wei scrambled to dodge.
He knew that a Dimension Slash was impossible to block.
It was an attack that utilized the inherent devouring nature of space itself.
It looked like an arc of blade energy or Sword Qi.
But in essence, the two were completely different.
To block a Dimension Slash, one would need the ability to withstand the tearing force of space itself.
Never mind Li Wei; even a Tier Six Mage might not possess such an ability.
When facing a Dimension Slash, the only response was to dodge.
Fortunately, a Dimension Slash wasn’t as easy to control as ordinary Magic.
It couldn’t change direction easily.
Li Wei dodged the Dimension Slash with ease.
Just as he was preparing to attack, the Space Mage across from him revealed a smug smile.
A chill went down Li Wei’s spine. ’Something’s wrong!’
