Chapter 381: Chapter 381: Li Wei, the Socialite Playing Multiple Sides

"The complete Holy Spirit Rebirth Ceremony can transform an ordinary being into a Holy Spirit, granting them the unique Extraordinary Traits exclusive to Holy Spirits."

"It grants the ability to ignore pain, disease, and toxins; immunity to curses; the loss of vital points; and a nearly endless lifespan..."

The temptation of becoming a true Holy Spirit was immense.

For an ordinary person, it was like ascending to the heavens in a single step.

The only drawback was perhaps being subjugated to the Divine Spirit that the Holy Spirit’s race served.

Becoming a slave to a Divine Spirit.

And yet, countless people would never even have the chance to become a Divine Spirit’s slave.

Naturally, Li Wei would not choose that path.

He chose another path: to plunder only a specific Extraordinary Trait from the Holy Spirit.

The ritual for plundering a Holy Spirit’s Extraordinary Traits was derived from the Holy Spirit Rebirth Ceremony.

Li Wei called it the Incomplete Holy Spirit Rebirth Ceremony.

The rebirth ceremony was crucial, as were the required materials. Not a single component could be missing.

The ritual materials, in particular, were nearly impossible for an ordinary person to obtain.

Even if they did, it would come at a great cost.

The material was a complete Heart of the Holy Spirit.

Li Wei happened to have one.

It was just... contaminated by Poison Dragon Saliva.

The venom of the Poison Dragon Saliva had transcended ordinary toxins, reaching the level of a Rule.

That was how it was able to corrupt a Heart of the Holy Spirit, which possessed the "Poison Immunity" trait.

Li Wei had been incredibly lucky to obtain a complete Heart of the Holy Spirit.

If not for the Poison Dragon Saliva and the Blade of Judgment suppressing the Heart of the Holy Spirit’s final self-destruction, he would have been buried along with it.

Killing the Holy Spirit wasn’t the hardest part. The hardest part was stopping the Heart of the Holy Spirit from self-destructing.

Li Wei had been very lucky.

He had managed to accomplish these incredibly difficult tasks through a series of fortunate coincidences.

For safety’s sake, Li Wei didn’t plan to perform the ritual to plunder the Extraordinary Trait within the Elemental Tower.

"Stier."

Li Wei sought out Stier.

Stier heard someone call his name and turned around.

He looked surprised to see Li Wei.

"What is it?"

Li Wei glanced around. "Let’s talk somewhere else."

Stier said impatiently, "I’m busy. Just say what you need to."

"Are you sure? It’s about the Fire Elemental Plane," Li Wei said, looking at him.

Stier’s heart skipped a beat. He gave Li Wei a long, hard look, then turned and walked away.

"Follow me."

The two of them found a deserted area.

Stier crossed his arms and stared at Li Wei. "Alright, what do you want to say?"

Li Wei said, "Are you still in contact with the Fire Elemental Lord from the Fire Elemental Plane?"

Stier replied, "What are you talking about? How could I possibly be in contact with the Fire Elemental Lord?"

Li Wei chuckled. "Don’t play dumb. Everyone knows what happened on the Fire Elemental Plane."

"Hmph. What are you getting at? Are you trying to use this to threaten me?" Stier said.

Li Wei shook his head. "I was a victim, too. Just like you."

Upon hearing this, Stier’s expression softened slightly, a flicker of shared misfortune in his eyes.

He relented. "Not recently. The Fire Elemental Lord used to pester me constantly to open a Teleportation Gate and help him get to the Prime Material Interface. But now, for some reason, he’s suddenly not in a hurry."

Li Wei’s eyes shifted. "Is the Fire Elemental Plane safe right now?"

Stier sneered. "You think the Fire Elemental Plane could ever be dangerous for the Fire Elemental Lord?"

"I don’t know. He doesn’t tell me things like that."

Li Wei thought for a moment. "Can you get the Fire Elemental Lord to open a passage to the Fire Elemental Plane for me?"

Stier stared at him in shock. "Are you serious? What are you thinking? Are you trying to get yourself killed?"

Li Wei said, "I have something important to do on the Fire Elemental Plane."

Opening a Teleportation Gate from the Fire Elemental Plane to the Main Plane was difficult.

However, it was much simpler for someone on the Fire Elemental Plane to open a one-way channel leading from the Main Plane.

Stier shook his head. "I can’t help you with that."

"Then your relationship with the Fire Elemental Lord..."

Li Wei trailed off, and Stier’s expression turned ugly.

"Are you threatening me?"

Stier demanded.

Li Wei replied, "Just tell me if you’ll help or not."

Stier frowned at Li Wei. After a moment’s thought, he relented. "Fine. I’ll see what I can do."

"But let me be clear," he added. "If you run into trouble on the Fire Elemental Plane, it’s not my problem. You’ll have brought it on yourself."

Li Wei nodded. "It will have nothing to do with you."

That afternoon, Stier found Li Wei.

"Ragnar agreed," Stier said. "He’s willing to help open a one-way channel for you from his side."

"When?" Li Wei asked, pleasantly surprised.

"Tomorrow at eight in the morning," Stier said.

"Thanks," Li Wei said.

Stier snorted. "I hope you never come back."

He said it without hesitation.

Li Wei chuckled. "I’m afraid I’ll have to disappoint you, then."

By 7:30 the next morning, Li Wei was already prepared.

With Stier’s help, they opened a one-way Teleportation Gate to the Fire Elemental Plane, using the Fire Element Fragment inside the Cultivation Secret Realm.

Li Wei stepped into the Teleportation Gate.

The fiery vortex quickly shrank and vanished.

Stier watched Li Wei disappear, but his tense heart didn’t relax.

He looked behind him. "Mentor, are you sure about helping him like this?"

A figure appeared behind Stier, clad in a fiery red Mage Robe that shimmered like a burning Fire Cloud.

"Let him go take a look. Perhaps he has something I want."

the red-robed figure said.

Stier watched in silence.

His willingness to help Li Wei hadn’t been due to the verbal threats. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

It was because his mentor had been behind it, telling him to agree to Li Wei’s request.

Stier didn’t understand why his mentor wanted to help Li Wei.

WHOOSH!

A fiery vortex materialized inside a volcano.

A figure stepped out from the fiery vortex.

The moment Li Wei stepped out, he felt an immensely oppressive gaze bearing down on him from above.

He looked up, and the colossal form of the Fire Elemental Lord, Ragnar, filled his vision.

Ragnar looked down condescendingly at Li Wei, the corner of his mouth curling into a smirk.

"Ant. You actually dare to return."

Ragnar laughed, greatly amused.

Li Wei watched him calmly. "Your Lordship, please show me some respect. We’re on the same side now."

"Heh, human ant... Er, my apologies. I was a bit impulsive."

Ragnar had seen Li Wei produce the Rune Summoning Stone that signified the status of a Fire Element Elder, and he immediately backed down.

Li Wei had the backing of a Fire Element Elder with Legendary Level combat power.

Ragnar had no desire to offend the powerhouse backing him.

A Legendary Level Fire Elemental Lord might not think twice about a Fire Element Elder.

But Ragnar wasn’t there yet.

Li Wei smiled. "It’s fine. We’re allies, after all. I have other matters to attend to, so I’ll be on my way. See you around."

Watching Li Wei’s figure recede into the distance, Ragnar spat a mouthful of lava.

"Tch. ’See you around,’ my ass. Cunning human."
