Melo didn't reply.
Zhu Hong said, "Of course, I have a fundamental difference from you gutter rats. I have zero interest in killing, and I've never thought that killing could prove I'm above others or demonstrate my superiority."
"But bastards like you who casually take other people's lives, I have to strike you down with thunderous force."
He ran.
Before Zhu Hong could finish, Melo turned and bolted toward the door.
But the moment he turned, Zhu Hong's whip-like kick caught him hard.
One kick sent Melo sprawling to the ground, vomiting blood profusely.
His entire body curled up like a dead shrimp bent in half.
"S-s-spare me, I, I won't do it again. I'll turn over a new leaf..."
"Give me a chance. I want to be a good person..."
Melo, vomiting blood on the floor, realized he had kicked an absolute steel plate.
And this steel plate was harder than iron, stronger than steel.
Kicking it only hurt himself.
So he could only beg Zhu Hong, plead for his life.
Zhu Hong's gaze was icy, like the biting wind of deep winter.
He said, "Spare you?"
"Then, those people you killed—didn't they beg you before they died? Why didn't you spare them?"
Melo's teeth were coated in blood. He said, "They didn't. Not a single one of them begged."
Bang!
A fierce stomp landed on Melo's face, especially on the mouth area.
Then, Zhu Hong said nothing more. He had made up his mind to kill.
Everything that happened between Zhu Hong and Melo in that room.
If someone happened to be looking, they might have witnessed it.
Because the curtains of their room weren't drawn.
Across from the Napoleon Hotel where Zhu Hong was staying stood another building.
On one floor of that building, directly facing Zhu Hong's floor.
Room to room.
At the window of that room in the other building.
A young Asian man stared at the screen of a black camera, his eyes wide as saucers.
The camera was aimed directly at the direction of Zhu Hong's room.
Without a doubt, everything that had happened and was still happening in Zhu Hong's room should have been recorded by this camera.
The young Asian man fumbled frantically, pulling a Fruit Phone from his pocket.
After taking out the phone, he quickly dialed a number. The call connected, and a man's voice came from the other end.
"What happened?"
The young Asian man said anxiously, "Yeah, something happened. Melo didn't follow orders to keep pretending as the Napoleon Hotel cleaner and monitor Zhu Hong. Instead, he acted on his own."
The other end: "Tell me the specifics of what happened."
The young Asian man: "What I saw was Melo pretending to clean Zhu Hong's room, then suddenly attacked him. He didn't succeed and blew his cover."
"Then the two of them started fighting."
The other end: "Who won now?"
The young Asian man couldn't help wiping cold sweat from his forehead. The room he was in was actually quite warm—he could move freely in a t-shirt—but the scenes he had just witnessed had scared a considerable psychological shadow into him.
"He's too strong. That lab rat Zhu Hong is really too strong. One punch from him pretty much sealed the fight, then one kick knocked Melo down. Now Melo is getting stomped repeatedly. I reckon he won't survive."
As he spoke, he kept swallowing saliva.
The voice on the other end was very calm, even carrying a hint of interest: "I see. But I already guessed this would happen. Melo was never going to obediently play the monitor. He had to make the first move.
That self-righteous idiot, just like those two new Asians. I hate people like that the most. Perfect timing—let the lab rat take care of him for us, saves us the trouble."
The young Asian man, upon hearing this, had a look of intense shock on his face. He hadn't expected that this person had already predicted everything in advance.
"So what should I do now? Just watch from here as that guy kills Melo?"
The other end: "No. Send me the video—from when Melo entered Zhu Hong's room until now, all of it. As for the rest, you stay there and keep monitoring."
The young Asian man said okay.
Then, he began to work.
Soon, he clipped and sent the video he had recorded to the person on the other end of the call.
...
Over at Zhu Hong's side.
Zhu Hong now stared at Melo, who was lying on the ground like a dead dog, no different from one. He twisted his neck, then looked down at his pants and shoes.
His pants and shoes were all covered in Melo's blood.
"What a pain. Looks like I'll have to just throw them out and buy new ones."
Zhu Hong sighed.
Then, he started figuring out how to dispose of Melo's body.
"Hmm, I'll use this cart he brought himself."
The silver metal cleaning cart Melo had brought in had enough space. In a moment, he could use it to move and dispose of the body.
Just as he was thinking this.
A sudden knock on the door rang out abruptly.
Standing by the bed, Zhu Hong instantly turned his head. He wondered who it could be. Had his movements been too loud just now?
But when he killed Melo, he had covered Melo's mouth.
He didn't reply right away, instead hurriedly trying to drag Melo's body under the bed.
But at that moment, the knocking from outside the door grew louder.
And then, they announced themselves: "Open up! Open up! We are the police of Aisen Town!!!"
Hearing it was the police, Zhu Hong's calm heart actually wavered a bit.
He quickly thought in his mind: Were the ones outside claiming to be police real or fake?
If they were fake police, then they were Melo's accomplices pretending to be cops. He had encountered situations like that before, whether in the American Alice Apartment or the Special Live Streams he had participated in earlier.
But if they were real police, then he was screwed. Even if he bought time and stuffed Melo's body under the bed, there was still this huge pool of blood on the floor, the blood stains on the surrounding walls, and this silver metal cleaning cart.
A pile of evidence that couldn't be erased in a short time.
Therefore, after thinking it over, he decided not to waste effort and simply chose to open the door.
The door swung open.
At the doorway stood four police officers in German uniforms.
The moment the door opened, the four officers smelled the familiar scent of blood.
Then, a taller officer saw the large bloodstains on Zhu Hong's pants and shoes.
He immediately drew his pre-prepared pistol and aimed it at Zhu Hong.
And issued a loud, stern warning: "Don't move! Hands on your head!!!"
Zhu Hong chuckled, showing his empty hands, then put his hands on his head and crouched down.
