"Not good!"

Bundy turned and ran, no longer paying any attention to Old Fang behind him.

But ignoring Old Fang would immediately come back to haunt him. When Old Fang saw that the people Bundy had summoned had arrived, he immediately pulled a rock he'd prepared earlier from his pocket and hurled it at Bundy, who was running away with his back turned.

The rock hit Bundy square on the back of his head.

Instantly, blood gushed from the back of Bundy's head.

Bundy stumbled and fell. Clutching his head, he pulled his hands back and found them covered in blood. A look of extreme rage twisted across his face.

He whipped his head around, his eyes glaring at Old Fang like a wolf's, as if he wanted to tear him to shreds in the next second.

But he never got the chance.

Jiang Ran and the others had already caught up, mops raised, surrounding him.

Bundy knelt on one knee, his eyes darting around at the people encircling him.

He had gone to the welcome party that night, though not inside the activity room. He'd been outside, peeping through the window. He knew the ones surrounding him were lab rats. So, his fate would most likely be elimination, being sent to another Alice Apartment in some other country.

That meant he wouldn't die.

Of course, the most important basis for that judgment was their eyes.

He looked at everyone present and studied their gazes.

Aside from Manager Wu Meiling, the old man who'd been chasing him to provide intel, and a tall, sharp-featured guy (Zhang Yao), he was certain that none of the others dared to kill or had ever killed before.

Their eyes had far too many impurities.

So, whether they were his kind of people or not—people who dared to kill—he could tell at a single glance.

Especially that assistant manager, Jiang Ran.

That guy's eyes were so full of impurities it was ridiculous.

He had no idea how someone like that became an assistant manager.

Even the two lab rats next to him, Yang Qi and Zeng Yan, showed more potential for killing than Jiang Ran did.

Wasn't an assistant manager supposed to be one of his kind too?

At that moment, Jiang Ran had no idea Bundy was trash-talking him in his mind.

He stared hard at Bundy's face. After confirming this was the same guy from that night, he said, "Call the police. Let them take him away!"

Zeng Yan added, "Yeah, hand him over to the cops."

Hearing this, even though the back of his head was still bleeding and throbbing with pain, Bundy, who had been lowering his head and struggling to hold back a laugh, was shaking all over.

Hahaha, just as he'd thought. He still wasn't going to die.

Seeing this, Manager Wu Meiling felt a surge of irritation.

She knew that if they called the cops—those fake cops, no less—Bundy would just be sent off to another Alice Apartment in some other country. Even if she'd probably never run into him again for the rest of her life, he had nearly done her harm, nearly killed her. She wanted revenge.

But with all the lab rats here, how could she get it?

In the live stream room.

Seeing that Bundy, after hiding for two or three days, had been caught.

The Middle-aged Uncle typed: [I looked this guy up online. He's a world-famous deranged serial killer.]

[There are plenty of novels, movies, and other works based on him.]

[He's a high-IQ, highly educated elite. But honestly, this felt way too easy to catch... doesn't quite match his online profile...]

The Domineering Female CEO replied: [Actually, that's just preconceived notions at work.]

[People consume all kinds of media—novels, movies, TV shows. For this type of high-intelligence criminal, the ending is always that it takes a Herculean effort to catch them, or they're never caught at all and just keep getting away with it. That fits people's expectations. I mean, if such a formidable deranged serial killer got caught so easily, that would be way too anticlimactic...]

[But in reality, Bundy escaped from prison several times, and each time he got caught, it was also pretty simple.]

[One time he was even caught by pure chance by a patroling American cop...]

[So, you can never predict a person's fate. Not everyone's downfall has to be earth-shattering.]

[Take a recent hot topic, the end of the Ming Dynasty. Who would have thought that Li Zicheng, the Rebel King, wouldn't die at the hands of the Ming army or the Qing army, but would be killed by local farmers in Jiugong Mountain...]

The Ultimate Rich Kid chimed in: [I've always felt there's some invisible force driving the fate of this land.]

[Look at Qin Shi Huang. He carried on the legacy of six generations of worthy kings, uniting all of Huaxia. Six consecutive wise rulers who weren't inept—that's practically a miracle. And yet, just two generations after unifying the six kingdoms, the dynasty fell...]

[It's like the heavens gave Qin its mission, and when it was done, just pulled the plug on them...]

[And then look at Li Zicheng and Zhang Xianzhong. The Ming army hunted them for over a decade, and they were like cockroaches that couldn't be killed. Then the Qing army came through the pass, and both of them died in short order...]

Inside Alice Apartment.

Back with Jiang Ran.

Zeng Yan pulled out his phone, ready to call the police, but Old Fang stopped him.

Zeng Yan was confused. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Old Fang smiled silently. He pulled a pair of metal handcuffs from his pocket, walked over to Bundy, who was still kneeling, and cuffed his hands. Bundy didn't resist—resisting now would be the stupidest thing he could do. He just had to wait quietly for those fake cops to come and take him away.

But then, something happened that he never could have expected.

"You don't need to call the cops. I already have."

Old Fang straightened his slightly hunched back and smiled at Jiang Ran and the others.

Zeng Yan was puzzled. "You already called?"

Old Fang pulled a police badge from his pocket and showed it to Zeng Yan, Jiang Ran, Yang Qi, Zhang Yao, and the others.

Everyone was stunned. Old Fang was a cop?!

This guy who looked like an old man was actually a police officer?!

"Don't let my appearance fool you. I look like I'm sixty or seventy, but I'm actually only in my early fifties. If I hadn't been working undercover, lying low, and investigating murders all this time, I wouldn't have aged this fast."

"Of course, I just happen to live here. It's destiny for me to be undercover!"

"So, after I found this guy, besides telling you, I also called my colleagues at the police station. They're on their way."

Zeng Yan suddenly understood. "No wonder! I knew regular people wouldn't have the kind of silver metal handcuffs that cops use!!!"

Old Fang nodded. "So, leave the rest to me. Manager Wu, you stay here. The rest of you can go."

Hearing this, Jiang Ran and the others had no reason to be suspicious and were about to leave.

But then Bundy suddenly let out a roar, his voice hoarse and desperate, his expression twisted to the point of absurdity.

It was the same look he had on his face when he was sentenced to death all those years ago.

"Hey! Don't go! He's not a cop! He's definitely an impostor!!!"

Hearing this, everyone stopped in their tracks. Yang Qi asked, "An impostor?"

He looked at Old Fang. Old Fang's face was full of righteous integrity.

Yang Qi shook his head. "You're a foreigner. Hua Country isn't like your country."

"Not many people here have the guts to impersonate a cop."

Manager Wu Meiling stepped forward too. "That's right. I've known Old Fang for a long time. He's been a cop since he was young. He's practically a senior to me. So, don't let this bad guy, this rapist, sow discord between us!!!"
