Chapter 289: One Sword, One End
One Sword, One End
"This is..."
"Immortal sword!"
At that moment, not only was Drift Sword stunned, but even Anna stood frozen.
The battlefield fell into an eerie silence.
The silver-white radiance of the First Mist Immortal Sword illuminated the surrounding sky. The ancient aura released by the blade seemed to suppress everything in existence. Under its presence, ordinary weapons appeared insignificant.
Anna’s eyes remained fixed on the sword.
She had seen countless treasures throughout her life.
Yet an Immortal-grade sword?
Even within Celestial Crown Domain, such a weapon was the object of countless legends.
And now...
Leon was casually holding one.
What shocked her even more was the connection between man and sword.
There was no sense of unfamiliarity.
No resistance.
The First Mist Immortal Sword seemed like an extension of Leon himself.
The synchronization was flawless.
Good lord, he was acting cool...
He had just said he was fine with anything.
Now he had taken out an Immortal-grade sword.
Anna’s lips twitched.
A moment ago she had actually offered him her own sword.
Thinking about it now felt absurd.
The more she thought about it, the more annoyed she became.
Without hesitation, she glanced at the spiritual sword in her hand.
Then casually tossed it toward the distant sea below.
Splash.
The sword vanished beneath the waves.
She didn’t even bother looking at it again.
Leon noticed the action and blinked.
"Senior Sister, that sword looked expensive."
Anna crossed her arms.
"It was."
"Then why throw it away?"
Her expression darkened.
"Because someone embarrassed me."
Leon immediately understood.
A faint smile appeared on his face.
Anna became even more irritated.
This guy definitely knew what he was doing.
Meanwhile, Drift Sword’s confidence had completely collapsed.
The fear in his eyes grew stronger with every passing second.
The pressure released by the First Mist Immortal Sword felt suffocating.
His instincts screamed at him.
Run.
Escape.
Leave immediately.
Unfortunately, his pride refused to let him retreat.
"How... How did you get an immortal sword?"
His voice trembled slightly.
The arrogance from earlier had vanished without a trace.
Moments ago, he had been proud of possessing the Heavenrend Blade.
Now it felt like a joke.
The difference between a supreme-grade spirit weapon and an Immortal-grade weapon wasn’t a simple gap.
It was an entirely different world.
A dimensional difference.
Leon didn’t answer.
He wasn’t interested in explaining himself.
His patience had already run out.
The battle had dragged on long enough.
The Four Symbols Cauldron still belonged to Anna.
The sooner this ended, the sooner they could move on.
The First Mist Immortal Sword rose slowly.
A sharp sword cry echoed through heaven and earth.
The surrounding clouds split apart.
Mountains shook.
The sea below churned violently.
The boundless Mana within Leon’s body surged into the blade.
A terrifying sword intent gathered.
Anna’s expression gradually became serious.
She could sense that Leon was finally attacking seriously.
Everything before this...
Had merely been warm-up.
Leon stepped forward.
The movement looked simple.
Almost casual.
Yet the entire world seemed to move with him.
The mysteries of the Font Sword Art flowed naturally through his body.
The sword in his hand emitted dazzling radiance.
Then—
He swung.
A single strike.
Nothing more.
The sword light crossed the sky like a heavenly river descending from the heavens.
It carried an unstoppable momentum.
It carried absolute destruction.
It carried the authority of an Immortal sword.
Drift Sword’s face turned deathly pale.
"No!"
He roared desperately.
Every drop of Mana inside his body erupted.
The Heavenrend Blade shone brilliantly.
He poured everything into defense.
The surrounding space distorted.
Sword energy exploded outward.
The collision arrived instantly.
Boom!
The heavens shook.
A blinding flash erupted.
For a brief moment, nobody could see what happened.
Then—
Crack.
A clear sound echoed.
Anna’s pupils contracted.
The Heavenrend Blade shattered.
Countless fragments scattered across the sky.
The supreme-grade spirit weapon had failed to withstand even a single exchange.
The sword light continued forward without slowing.
Drift Sword’s expression froze.
His desperate resistance had accomplished nothing.
The overwhelming sword energy reached him.
A thin line appeared across his body.
Silence.
Absolute silence.
The world seemed to stop.
Then his body slowly separated into two halves.
Immortal energy erupted from the wound.
His flesh disintegrated.
His meridians collapsed.
His spiritual consciousness shattered.
Even his soul was unable to escape.
Everything was erased completely.
The wind swept through the battlefield.
Nothing remained.
No corpse.
No remnant soul.
No trace of life.
The once-arrogant expert had disappeared from existence.
Only drifting particles of light remained before fading into the horizon.
Leon calmly lowered the First Mist Immortal Sword.
The battle was over.
From beginning to end, his expression had barely changed.
As though eliminating a mid-star pinnacle expert was nothing worth mentioning.
The surrounding sky gradually returned to normal.
The oppressive pressure vanished.
The clouds slowly closed once more.
Only then did Anna finally recover from her daze.
She stared at the place where Drift Sword had vanished.
Her thoughts were a mess.
She and Drift Sword had fought repeatedly before this.
Neither side had been able to gain a decisive advantage.
Yet after Leon arrived...
Everything changed.
The fight that had troubled her for days ended in moments.
No prolonged battle.
No desperate struggle.
Just one sword.
One strike.
One end.
Her beautiful eyes slowly shifted toward Leon.
The black-haired young man stood quietly beneath the sky, his midnight robes fluttering in the wind.
The First Mist Immortal Sword floated beside him, releasing a faint silver glow.
For a moment, he looked less like a cultivator and more like a Sword Monarch descended from legend.
Anna felt her heartbeat quicken slightly.
Then she immediately looked away.
Something was wrong.
Very wrong.
Ever since meeting Leon, her emotions had become increasingly difficult to understand.
Fortunately, Leon seemed completely unaware.
He casually stretched his shoulders.
"Done."
The simple word nearly made Anna choke.
Done?
That was all he had to say?
A pinnacle expert had just been erased from existence.
Yet Leon sounded like he had merely finished a meal.
Anna took a deep breath.
"Senior Brother."
"Hm?"
"You are unbelievably annoying sometimes."
Leon looked genuinely confused.
"What did I do now?"
"You know exactly what you did."
"I really don’t."
Anna stared at him for several seconds.
Then she gave up.
Arguing with him felt pointless.
Leon chuckled softly before turning toward the place where Drift Sword had fallen.
A storage jade and a bronze cauldron remained suspended in the air.
The Four Symbols Cauldron.
The true reason behind this conflict.
With a wave of his hand, both treasures flew toward him.
Leon caught the storage jade and tossed it aside without interest.
Then he picked up the cauldron.
After examining it briefly, he turned toward Anna.
A small smile appeared on his face.
"Senior Sister."
Anna suddenly had a bad feeling.
"What?"
Leon lifted the cauldron.
"I told you I’d get it back for you."
For the first time since the battle began, Anna found herself speechless.
"This..." Anna’s face was filled with disbelief. Her mouth opened, but she didn’t know what to say. He actually... killed him with one strike?
