Chapter 617: Chapter 513: We’re Not Afraid of Being Blown Up to the Sky
After the meeting ended, the teachers and the leaders didn’t hurry to leave. Instead, they stayed behind to help tidy up the meeting room, restoring it to its original neatness.
"Chef Huang, it’s getting late. You should take Qingqing and Weiwei home first. We’ll handle the rest."
Liang Yinqiu said considerately.
Appreciating this extra care, Huang Jun didn’t fuss about it, and with a smile, he nodded: "Alright, then I’ll head out first. Thank you, everyone."
After saying this, he reached out to hold Qingqing and Weiwei’s little hands, and the family of three prepared to leave.
Qingqing and Weiwei looked back at Liang Yinqiu and the other teachers, their faces lighting up with bright smiles, waving their small hands in farewell: "Goodbye, Principal Mommy, goodbye, teachers!"
"Hey! See you tomorrow, Qingqing, Weiwei!"
Liang Yinqiu and the teachers responded with smiles, watching their family of three leave.
Huang Jun held the little ones’ hands tightly as they slowly descended the stairs.
Weiwei looked up, her gaze piercing through the deepening twilight, where the sky was gently brushed with the night’s bluish-purple hue. She gently tugged on Huang Jun’s sleeve, pointing at the profound night sky, her eyes filled with curiosity and excitement: "Dad, look, it’s completely dark now, and the stars have all come out!"
"Yes!" Qingqing immediately looked at the sky, her eyes shimmering with excitement: "Even though it’s dark, the stars are like the sky’s eyes, twinkling and as if they’re greeting us!"
Huang Jun looked at them tenderly, smiling slightly: "Yes, the night sky is always so charming. Each star is like an eye in the sky, lighting our way home in the dark~"
"So, the stars are here to guide us home..." the two children said in unison: "Hehe, stars are great, thank you, stars..."
Just as they stepped out of the office building, Huang Jun felt the biting chill of the wind.
He immediately crouched down, patiently pulling the zippers of the little ones’ down jackets to the top, carefully putting their hoods on, securing the fasteners, revealing only their beautiful big eyes.
"Qingqing, Weiwei, with the wind so strong, are you afraid of being blown away?" He asked half-jokingly.
Qingqing’s eyes gleamed with courage as she shook her head: "I’m not afraid, Daddy. As long as I hold your hand tightly, even if the wind is strong, we can fly up to the sky like stars and play."
Weiwei blinked her large watery eyes: "I’m not afraid either, Daddy. Because with you, we’re like the brightest stars. No matter how the wind blows, we won’t get lost. Plus, we can hold hands and race through the sea of stars, seeing who can count the quickest and the most!"
Listening to the children’s innocent and pure words, Huang Jun felt deeply touched, and the corners of his mouth involuntarily curved upward.
He followed the little ones’ lead: "Haha, I’d rather not be blown up to count stars, because if I get lost, I might miss the kindergarten’s park event next Friday."
"Then Daddy, my sister and I will hold you tight, that way the wind won’t blow us away."
Qingqing said while standing on tiptoe, wrapping her arms around Huang Jun’s neck, looking up at the sky with a serious expression on her face, her childish voice calling out: "Mr. Wind, blow gently, please, we don’t want to go on a sky trip just yet!"
"Yeah, wind, take a break!"
Weiwei chimed in, her little face full of "warning" to the wind.
Huang Jun was amused by the innocence of these two little ones, and he laughed heartily before gently gathering them in his arms, carrying them out of the kindergarten gate and into the Linting Garden community.
Compared to the cold wind outside, the warmth of the elevator was like a cozy embrace, instantly making anyone feel comfortable and at ease.
Qingqing proudly declared: "Look, now we’re not afraid of being blown up to the sky!"
Weiwei quickly nodded in agreement: "Right, we’ve hidden in this warm elevator, the wind can’t find us here."
Children’s words are always so fun and entertaining!
Residents passing by the elevator couldn’t help but cast gentle looks in their direction, their mouths subconsciously curling into a smile.
"That’s right, you’re absolutely right!"
Huang Jun looked at the two little ones indulgently, bringing them home.
As soon as they entered the house...
Qingqing quickly changed her shoes, put down her backpack and water bottle, suddenly remembering the teacher mentioned games, eagerly asked: "Daddy, how long until we can play the games?"
Weiwei laughed as she joined in: "Yeah, Dad, I can’t wait to play those games!"
Huang Jun laughed and replied: "Don’t hurry, my darlings, the park event is next week, but this weekend, Daddy can take you out to play, how about that?"
"Great!"
Upon hearing they’d be going out to play, Qingqing and Weiwei immediately clapped their hands in excitement, their little faces full of anticipation. "Daddy, where will we go this weekend?"
Huang Jun smiled indulgently and asked back: "Is there somewhere special you’d like to go?"
The two little ones looked at each other and smiled, shaking their heads: "We haven’t thought of anywhere yet!"
Huang Jun patted their heads gently, lovingly saying: "Then take your time thinking, and let me know when you’ve decided. Now, Daddy’s going to make dinner. How about honey-glazed chicken and rice tonight?"
"Good!" Qingqing and Weiwei’s eyes sparkled with anticipation for the food, responding in unison: "Daddy’s cooking is always good. We love everything you make."
