Chapter 580: Chapter 580: Voice Recorder

Xu Xiangbei sneered coldly, "You are Wu Xinwen."

Wu Xinwen glanced disdainfully at Xu Xiangbei, aggressively said, "Yes, I am Wu Xinwen. You’re the guy who hacked my server. You’ve got guts. You’d better restore my server data, otherwise, you won’t be leaving this alley today."

"Is that so? I’m so scared. I want to ask you a question: who told you about Gu Xinyan’s parents’ news?"

Upon hearing Xu Xiangbei mention Gu Xinyan, Wu Xinwen became wary, but with over a dozen strong men on his side, and Xu Xiangbei alone, he had nothing to fear.

He sneered, "Why do you care so much? Let me be honest, I didn’t bring the money today, so if you’re smart, you’ll do as I say. Otherwise, Big Guy, teach him a lesson."

Hearing his name called by Wu Xinwen, Big Guy knew it was his turn, and he walked over with a sinister grin.

Big Guy wielded a steel pipe, lightly scraping it against the wall, tapping as he went. The pipe made a crisp clashing sound, chilling to hear.

A dozen large men circled around fiercely, ready to swallow Xu Xiangbei whole if things went south.

Even surrounded by so many people, Xu Xiangbei didn’t seem to care at all. He smiled faintly.

Just as Big Guy stepped within half a step of him, Xu Xiangbei suddenly spun around, delivering a lightning-fast flying kick, turning, kicking as seamlessly as flowing water.

Xu Xiangbei’s kick landed on Big Guy’s chest, sending him flying like a sandbag, accompanied by a pained wail, with the steel pipe clattering at Xu Xiangbei’s feet.

Everyone in the courtyard was stunned, not expecting the seemingly weak Xu Xiangbei to strike first.

They watched as Big Guy crashed into a nearby small room, an abandoned kitchen filled with dust-covered pots, pans, and utensils.

Big Guy slammed into the pile of kitchenware, clattering and smashing them to pieces, porcelain bowls and plates shattered everywhere.

Pained, Big Guy clutched his chest, groaning, trying to get up but feeling excruciating pain all over, unable to muster any strength.

Seeing their leader beaten, Big Guy’s subordinates were enraged, each raising their steel pipes and rushing towards Xu Xiangbei like a tidal wave.

"Dare to hit our boss, hit him."

"Beat him up."

"Cripple him, break his legs."

Seeing their fierce-looking faces, Wu Xinwen worried they might beat Xu Xiangbei to death, jumped up and shouted from behind, "Don’t hit his head, don’t kill him, I still need him..."

The situation reversed, startling Wu Xinwen, and before he finished speaking, he saw those rushing brutes, one by one, being sent flying like sandbags to various corners of the courtyard.

Bang, crash, some slammed against walls, bleeding profusely.

Others crashed into tables and chairs, shattering the already dilapidated furniture.

Frightened, Wu Xinwen lay on the ground, sensing a brute flying overhead, brushing by with a chilling breeze, casting a shadow.

When Wu Xinwen stood up again, the courtyard was vast and quiet, with only him and Xu Xiangbei standing, everyone else was down, the yard filled with continuous groans.

Looking at the scattered brutes on the ground, Wu Xinwen was dumbfounded, staring blankly at Xu Xiangbei walking towards him, suddenly realizing he had been tricked.

Xu Xiangbei’s face still held that faint smile, but in Wu Xinwen’s eyes, it was not a smile but the sinister grin of the Grim Reaper, the call of the Demon.

Every step Xu Xiangbei took closer, Wu Xinwen trembled, a chill rising up his spine.

When Xu Xiangbei stood before him, Wu Xinwen was trembling so much he was about to fall over.

He trembled and asked, "Who, who the hell are you? You’re not really a hacker trying to blackmail me, are you?"

"Of course not. I’m Xu Xiangbei, president of the Thunderbird Group with a net worth of billions. Extorting a million from you isn’t worth my time. I just wanted to find you, to chat a bit."

Xu Xiangbei smirked, picking a leaf off Wu Xinwen’s hair, patted the dust off his clothes, straightened his shirt collar as if they were old friends.

For someone like Xu Xiangbei, it’s impossible he’d extort a million for himself. Wu Xinwen’s face turned ashen. The friendlier Xu Xiangbei’s smile became, the more he realized things were going wrong, trembling continuously with fear.

Xu Xiangbei said playfully, "Hey, bro, why are you shaking so much? Are you cold? Want me to start a fire for you to keep warm?"

"Brother, please don’t tease me. Just say what you have to say."

Xu Xiangbei sneered, "You’re a smart guy, too bad you don’t use your wits on the right path, it’s all on crooked ways. Tell me, where did you get the information on Gu Xinyan’s parents? Was it from Gu Family’s relatives?"

Wu Xinwen was a scoundrel, the kind who feared death the most. His eyes darted around nervously, glancing at the men on the ground, realizing he couldn’t take hits like they could.

Sensibly, he pulled a pen from his pocket and handed it to Xu Xiangbei.

It wasn’t just an ordinary pen but an audio recorder. Pressing play, it emitted a woman’s venomous and hateful voice: "I’m telling you, Gu Xinyan’s girl’s secret..."

Wu Xinwen said fearfully, "That’s Gu Xinyan’s aunt, she told me this on her own. I’m just a journalist, saying what I know."

Xu Xiangbei glared with disgust, "Shut up, you don’t deserve to utter the word journalist, you’re tainting that noble profession."

Seeing Xu Xiangbei angry, Wu Xinwen almost collapsed, hurriedly changed his tune, "Yes, I’m not worthy of being a journalist. I just took her money and followed orders."

Xu Xiangbei said coldly, "I’m warning you today, you’d better not do such filthy business again, don’t invade others’ privacy, using it as leverage for money, or I’ll make your life a living hell."

Wu Xinwen nodded like a pounding garlic: "I won’t dare do it again, I don’t want the server data anymore. If I do it again, I’m a bastard."

Seeing the flicker in Wu Xinwen’s eyes, knowing he only complied out of fear of being beaten, predicting that once he left the courtyard, Wu Xinwen would not only resume his old ways but curse him harshly too.

For such a scoundrel, Xu Xiangbei couldn’t be swayed by his words. He lightly patted Wu Xinwen, mocking him, "Your acting’s not bad, but it’s useless in front of me, Xu Xiangbei. I won’t even bother to hit you; it’d dirty my hands."

After finishing, Xu Xiangbei stuffed the audio recorder into his pocket, walked out of the courtyard with disdain, leaving Wu Xinwen alone.
