Chapter 674: Progenitor godslayer vs Infernal Verdant V

¬—Beast of the END¬

[GROARRRRRRR!!!!!]

With a thunderous crack, the massive head of a wolf burst through the tear, its arrival marked by a bone-rattling roar that echoed across all of Taemia.

The creature’s body was cloaked head to toe in Extinction Law energy. Each strand of its fur was a standalone blade of extinction.

The instant it appeared, it acted.

—Authority of the END: Finality’s Breath—

The beast’s jaws parted as it unleashed a deadly black breath, a concentrated torrent of Extinction energy hurtling toward Murobis.

The black breath surged forward, forcing Murobis to activate its Pseudo-Authority of Darkness to counter the oncoming wave.

Yet even its Pseudo-Authority was no match for END Wolf’s might, the darkness struggling, barely containing the onslaught. Realizing the inevitable, Murobis veered to the side, but not fast enough—the breath grazed his wing, and in a flash, it vanished, erased entirely from existence.

Seeing the massive wolf step fully into Taemia, its presence radiating pure, destructive power, Vonun’s expression twisted with disbelief.

His eyes widened in recognition, and his breath hitched.

"H-How can you summon... H-His Excellency’s pet?!"

The man stammered, his voice laced with shock and fear.

’His Excellency?’

Only Race Kings were addressed with such a title on the Interstellar Stage, and for Vonun to say this, then Arthur might have truly summoned the pet of a Race King.

Then again, Arthur wasn’t that surprised.

He had sensed it when the spatial channel opened up. At the other end of the spatial channel, he could feel the presence of three Deity Realm Existences.

One had an aura that was similar to this Wolf that was toying with the Superior Transcendent Black Dragon before him, and the second...was an Infernal Devil.

Feeling these presences wasn’t the surprising part. The surprising part was the distance. It was close.

Too Close.

Just as he thought about this, a notification appeared in his field of vision.

[The ’Absolute Death King’ gazes in your direction]

The ’Supreme’ Infernal Devil King of Valmone.

This wolf that Vonun had mistaken for his pet, was actually the child of his pet.

’But why...why is this Devil King....’

Arthur shook his head to rid himself of those thoughts.

The Devil King’s location didn’t matter now. What mattered was killing Vonun before he lost all feeling in his right arm.

As for Vonun, he wanted to end Arthur so he could go and assist Murobis so Murobis didn’t die against the Beast of the END.

He stomped his foot onto the ground, and a deep tremor rippled through the earth. Magic power surged from beneath him, spreading out in every direction like a violent flood.

"Bounded Field: Dark Forest of the Devil!"

In an instant, the landscape transformed into a twisted forest of tall trees with interconnecting branches.

Dark roots shot up from the earth, wrapping around Vonun’s left side and fusing with the stump where his arm had been before Arthur cut it, reforming his lost limb.

The roots then slithered across the ground, gathering around Vonun’s right arm, coalescing into a massive lance made of dark, vine-like wood. It grew rapidly, resembling a titan arum, its petals unfurling as the weapon took shape.

Vonun held the lance aloft as the petals opened wide, releasing a devastating beam of concentrated energy.

The attack screamed through the air toward Arthur, cutting through the space like a deadly blade.

Even though Arthur conjured a gravity barrier and slowed time, the beam pierced through everything, blasting a hole through his right shoulder.

¬Guk! Stasis! ¬

Arthur cursed as he commanded the law of time, but before the law could even act according to his will, two more beams collided with him, one piercing through his upper arm and the other hitting his wrist, knocking Lostvayne from his grasp.

The blade spun out of his hand and fell, lost for the moment.

Vonun charged immediately, and Arthur raised his left hand, compressing gravity around the man with the intent to crush him. But just before he clenched his fist, the ground beneath Vonun cracked open, and he vanished into it, causing Arthur’s gravity attack to crush nothing but empty air.

In the blink of an eye, Vonun reappeared directly behind Arthur, his arm lance thrusting forward.

Arthur attempted to teleport out of the way, but the Bounded Field’s effects warped space itself, forcing him back to his original position. Vonun’s lance struck true, piercing through Arthur’s stomach with a sickening sound.

"You think you can teleport as you wish in my Bounded Field?!"

Vonun roared with triumph, using all his might to hurl Arthur’s body off the lance. The boy was thrown high into the air, but despite the blood spilling from his stomach, Arthur held his hand up, facing Vonun.

Celestia materialized in his left hand, temporal and destructive energies surging up the blade’s length.

¬Extreme Nothingness! ¬

A torrent of purple energy shot forward, crackling with destructive force ripping through the air towards Vonun.

Thousands of roots and trees from all around the Bounded Field immediately dug into the ground, re-emerging in front of Vonun and intertwining to form a shield that absorbed the brunt of the attack, diverting the beams’ path.

The earth split open beneath the impact, creating a massive V-shaped crater that extended for kilometres, the sheer force of the explosion sending shockwaves through the landscape.

Arthur crashed to the ground, barely managing to stagger back to his feet. His subspace opened and he grabbed one of Creusery’s healing flame crystals, cracking it open without hesitation.

The flames of life surged toward his wound, burning away Vonun’s energy and mending the torn flesh.

Arthur amplified this process using dual time manipulation, accelerating the flames’ time power while rewinding the ’energy’ that entered his body from Vonun’s attack, allowing the flames to work faster and more efficiently.

¬Lostvayne. ¬

The sword flew back into his right hand and he gave a command.

¬ Partial Release. ¬

The silver lines of Lostvayne glowed brightly as tendrils of energy shot out from the blade, piercing into Arthur’s right arm and fusing with his energy circuits. With its power, Vonun’s energy within Arthur’s body was instantly destroyed and Arthur rewound time to heal his right arm.

¬Pseudo-Authority of Destruction: Destruction’s Incarnation. ¬

Crimson-silver flames erupted from Arthur’s body, enveloping him in a cloak of energy.

He looked up, locking eyes with Vonun, who was already charging toward him, his lance just a meter away from piercing Arthur’s head.

"?!"

But the lance halted, unable to move closer. The crimson-silver energy enveloping Arthur surged, releasing an omnidirectional wave of destruction that swept outward, obliteration everything in its path.

Vonun was hit by the wave head-on, his lance disintegrating instantly and the force of the blast blew the Archdevil away, sending him tumbling across the battlefield.

Immediately, Arthur began drawing energy from his Time and Destruction Pseudo-Origin Cores, and Vonun, who just managed to stabilize himself, looked up with alarm.

He recreated his arm lance and did the same as Arthur, pulling every ounce of power from his own Pseudo-Origin core.

His arm lance bloomed, with vines, branches and tendrils of wood emerging from his upper arm and twisting together. They spiralled around the beam that formed at the tip of the blooming lance.

"Verdant Cataclysm!"

Vonun roared, his ultimate attack taking shape as a beam of energy with swirling intertwined vines and dark tendrils around it.

Arthur’s own power surged into Lostvayne, his Anti-Divinity, Divinity, Destructive and Temporal energies, held together by Cosmic energy and enveloped by his Null silver power.

Swinging it down, he unleashed his own ultimate strike.

¬Extreme Nothingness: Chaos! ¬

There was no lag between the attacks’ release and their collision. Everything happened in the same second.

The two attacks collided in a deafening explosion of energy, creating a shockwave that rippled through the very fabric of space itself.

The earth trembled under immense pressure as the clash of power tore apart Vonun’s Bounded Field.

The roots, the very foundation of the field, buckled, snapped, and the entire domain collapsed, disintegrating into nothingness as the two ultimate attacks neutralized each other.

For a moment, silence reigned, the aftermath of their attacks leaving the world around them in ruin.

Vonun staggered, his energy reserves depleted by the sheer power of the clash.

But! Arthur was still alive, so he forced himself upright.

His flower-patterned pupils darted to the side where he locked unto Arthur’s figure charging straight for him.

Vonun plunged his arm lance into the ground, and from it, thousands of spiked wooden spears shot up to block Arthur’s path.

But Arthur swung his blade, sending a thin silver slash that sliced through every single one of the spears, their pieces disintegrating in the wake of the attack.

At that moment, Arthur’s wings unfurled, and with a powerful beat, he propelled himself towards Vonun.

Vonun swung his arm lance in a sweeping arc from left to right, meeting Lostvayne’s slash head-on. The clash sent a powerful shockwave through the air, forcing Arthur backwards and throwing his sword arm upward.

The Archdevil’s wide swing left his lance momentarily off to the side, requiring two seconds to pull it back into position for another thrust.

Arthur, meanwhile, needed the same two seconds to regain his balance and bring Lostvayne down again.

One second.

Vonun pulled his arm lance back; Arthur steadied his footing.

Two seconds.

Vonun thrust his lance forward. Arthur... let go of Lostvayne and ducked.

Three seconds.

Vonun’s strike hit only air, grazing the top of Arthur’s head. Arthur summoned Celestia into his left hand, shifting swiftly to the side.

Four seconds.

Vonun’s tail shot forward as he tried to retract his lance. But Lostvayne, moving on its own, pierced his tail and pinned it to the ground.

Five seconds.

Vonun yanked back his lance, but Arthur drove Celestia under his arm, the blade plunging through his side and piercing his heart, bursting out from the other side.

Six seconds.

Arthur withdrew Celestia as Vonun coughed blood and staggered. Rising to his feet, Arthur reversed his grip, and with a final burst of magic accelerating his movement, he swung—beheading the Archdevil before Vonun could even think.

Seven seconds.

Vonun’s head sailed through the air with a spray of blood. Arthur collapsed to the ground, his body completely drained, unable to move another inch.

Eight seconds.
