Chapter 565: Three Worlds: World 3
Gozonian Army Command Centre
Plewren Continent
High-Level World, Toverus
July 20th
Year 1054
In the dimly lit command centre, Arthur and Evan stood at the helm of the demon forces, their gazes fixed on the large circular table in front of them.
The power of war magic filled the air as a 3D representation of the battlefield hovered above the table, casting a glow across the room.
The map displayed the vast and chaotic theatre of war with impeccable detail: mountains, forests, rivers, and cities were all rendered with precision, each representing a strategic point in the ongoing battles.
War Magic: Projection of the World.
It was a projection of a location that the user would like to observe, consisting of a meticulous representation of the desired location, including the changes that are happening to the original location due to various means.
As this spell was being cast by a Transcendent, they easily created the projection of over half a million square kilometres in area.
It presented a live presentation of everything happening in the actual locations, such as the people within it. Highlighting and zooming in on a section of the projection would allow one to hear the noises that they were creating and get a closer look at the destruction that was occurring.
It constantly detected the changes in ambient magic power and law energy and updated the model subsequently.
Arthur and Evan stood in front of one of such models, and around them, a dozen Demon Generals of varying ranks were gathered, their attention riveted to the map.
When the Demon Kings had sent down the order for these Generals to concede control to Arthur and Evan, their reactions were...natural.
They all assumed it must be some impostor, believing their great and wise kings wouldn’t tell them—Generals with decades of experience—to cede control over decisive battles in the final war for this world to a bunch of teenagers who weren’t even 18 yet.
But when they quickly began receiving notifications like: [The ’Demon King of the Void’ silently stares at you] and [The ’Demon King of Corrosion’ questions if you dare to disobey direct orders], they realised the message had really come from their kings.
As such, despite their misgivings, they had to cede control of this battlefield to Arthur and Evan, with some even wishing they were on other battlefields on other parts of the continent.
Alas, they were here and the High-Rank Demon Generals had no choice but to listen to the DKs’ orders.
They were all worried that the two boys would give out ridiculous orders that’d get men killed for nothing. Or even worse, that’d make them lose on this battlefield.
Emphasis to be placed on worried.
Right now, they were eagerly transmitting Arthur and Evan’s orders to the Battalion and Brigade commanders.
The Dragons and Dark elves who were allied with the Demons in this World watched with dropped jaws.
They’d heard about the two boys, but they believed their battle prowess on the same level was the only thing good about them.
Indeed, they believed.
Arthur raised his hand, and with a gesture, the map zoomed in on a particular section of the battlefield where a contingent of angelic forces was attempting to break through the demon lines.
The tiny projections of angels sent bursts of white light that cut through the demon ranks and Arthur’s eyes narrowed as he analysed the situation.
"They’re pushing hard on the western flank. We need to reinforce that line before they break through and reach the weapon supply depots."
He pointed to a Brigade of dark elves stationed near the edge of the forest—the 7th Legion—a force known for their mastery of guerrilla tactics.
"Move three Battalions to the western flank. Have them set up ambush points along the treeline and use hit-and-run tactics to harass the angel’s vanguard.
They’ll slow them down and force them into a defensive stance."
The Warrant Officer hearing his words immediately transmitted his orders and within moments, the dark elves were on the move, their figures blending seamlessly into the darkness of the forest as they repositioned themselves.
"The north-western ridge is under heavy assault."
Evan’s sudden words turned their eyes upward, towards the ridge in question and the boy gazed at the humanoid dragon nearby and spoke.
"Mind deploying your Fire Drakes to that sector. Their fire breath will disrupt the enemy’s formation, allowing our forces to push through."
The Dragon silently obeyed Evan’s words and continued supervising that sector while Arthur moved his gaze to the east and called Evan.
"Evan. The Eastern side has divinity barriers that are reinforced continuously..."
"Definitely an energy hotspot. There’s a Hero there and they’re the core of the barrier. We need to disrupt the energy hot spot."
"What do you suggest?"
Arthur questioned after Evan’s first statement, and many others also turned towards him to hear his response.
"Mimic Demons? Or Wraiths...! Those guys can phase through physical objects to a certain extent. Have them tunnel beneath the battlefield, and locate the hotspot.
I’m going to need someone with powerful and strong energy quality to nuke the whole place up."
When Evan casually spoke about destroying an energy hotspot, something which would cause an explosion of untold magnitude, everyone looked at him in silence.
"...what? You don’t wanna blow it up?
Fine, let’s get someone good at black magic over and have him corrupt it. That will weaken the barriers enough for our Sorcerer Units to break through."
The boy had a ’deflated’ air around him, as if unhappy that something wasn’t going to get blown up. Arthur just laughed and turned his gaze back to the battlefield projection.
"Agreed. But we also need to cut off their supply lines to ensure they don’t recover quickly.
These red figures have moved across these routes numerous times—they’re probably supply units.
Have the 7th Legion set up ambushes along the supply routes."
The generals moved swiftly to relay the commands, but Arthur’s eyes suddenly narrowed as he noticed something unusual on the projection. A cluster of divine energy signatures—too strong to be mere angels—was converging near the northern sector.
"Oof, those are definitely real gods. And it seems like there are some Transcendents mixed in."
The deep crimson red that represented Level 900s was hard to miss.
"Aren’t they on a direct collision course with the 7th Legion? We need to deal with them before they wreak havoc on our forces."
When it came to direct combat, the 7th Legion’s overall battle power was lower than the others, since they were more suited for ambushes and guerrilla tactics.
Evan glanced at the area Arthur was focused on, his mind racing.
"What do you have in mind?"
In response to Evan, Arthur held out his hand and cosmic energy condensed, opening a portal to his subspace from where he retrieved a set of missiles, each one pulsating with negative energy and...light magic?
"Anti-Divinity Missiles. Alvey Sargon and I designed them to negate divinity on impact.
We need to launch them at these specific locations."
He pointed to several spots on the map where the gods’ forces were concentrated and the Generals’ eyes widened as they realised the implications.
They knew Arthur was a godslayer, so saying ’Anti-Divinity’ wasn’t unexpected. They also knew Alvey Sargon (every Mortal Demon Soldier knew him) and these missiles were something both Arthur and Alvey worked on.
’It’s definitely gonna be disastrous for the gods!’
Arthur snapped his fingers and granted the missiles a Blessing of Anti-Divinity, adding an extra layer of power and protection to them to prevent the missiles from being shot down.
Without hesitation, the General who received them moved to execute Arthur’s plan, and the missiles were launched in mere minutes.
They streaked across the sky at supersonic speed, reaching their marks with unerring accuracy and detonating in a series of blinding explosions.
Weaker gods died from the initial blasts, while the stronger ones who tanked the explosions had the anti-divinity spreading like acid on their bodies, burning through their divinity and reducing their powers to nothing.
The Level 900s tried to attack the incoming missiles, destroying them in the air successfully, but this only made matters worse as the Anti-Divinity poured down on them like acid rain.
The negative energy ate away at them, burning their skin and flesh, and worsening the wounds of those who were already injured.
The demons wasted no time. Seeing the opening created by Arthur’s missiles, they surged forward with renewed vigour, their weapons and spells finding their marks with lethal precision.
Back at the command centre, Arthur watched the chaos with a satisfied smirk, before turning his gaze to another part of the projection.
"Good. Now, let’s focus on the angels trying to regroup near the southern flank."
"The southern flank? I was thinking of sending the Infernal Devils to cut off their retreat. Let’s make sure they don’t escape."
Evan responded, a glint in his eyes and Arthur nodded, adding to his words.
"And the Dragons would provide cover from above. Have the 9th Legion ready to strike when the angels are cornered. We’ll hit them from all sides and finish them off."
Together, they continued to coordinate the battle, their commands flowing seamlessly as if they were two parts of a single mind.
As the Anti-Divinity missiles continued to wreak havoc on the gods, Evan casually turned his attention back to the projection, where another angel brigade was massing for a counterattack.
"Let’s have the elven assassins infiltrate their ranks. We’ll lure them into an ambush."
The Blood Catapults will create a perimeter, and the 6thLegion will cut off their escape. Move quickly so we can crush them before they even realize what’s happening."
Evan dished out orders and seeing this, Arthur couldn’t help but wonder where Evan got his battle experience from.
Arthur learnt one or two things from hanging around with Creusery and Grand Duke Mammon when they went to survey the battles to suppress Rebels in the Devildom—a rather frequent occurrence—and the boy’s first real experience commanding (without supervision) was actually in Aramis with the Divisions Alvey gave him.
But for Evan, it was clear this was NOT the Rogue Hero’s first experience. Some of the strategies he called were ones that made Arthur take a step back and watch, admitting that Evan was far better than him at this.
In the eyes of the demon generals, however, both of them were worthy of admiration for possessing such a level of tactical acumen at such young ages.
It now made perfect sense why the DKs put them in charge.
The rest of the generals murmured their agreement, their respect for Arthur and Evan growing with each passing moment.
