Chapter 557: Did anyone order a Progenitor?

"Ever dropped straight into the heart of a battlefield from the sky?"

"I pulled something like that off when I took on those Fallen Celestials."

"Feel like doing it again?"

To Arthur’s second question, Evan’s laughter echoed in the sky as he shouted back.

"We’re already in freefall!!!"

The wind roared in their ears as the two boys plummeted from thousands of metres above.

"How far off did you drop us?"

"About a quarter of the way to the atmosphere. Why?"

Arthur responded to Evan’s question as normally as ever but his answer made Evan’s eyes widen in shock.

"How many thousands of meters are we freefalling?!"

"No idea! I didn’t bother to calculate it!"

Arthur laughed, spinning his body mid-air before spreading his arms out like a plane while Evan facepalmed, shaking his head.

"You’re unbelievable."

Arthur only laughed louder in response, and then the ground below began to enter his spatial perception.

"They’re fighting near the sea, so it looks like you’ll actually get to sink some islands. Take your pick. As for me, I’m turning myself into a meteor."

Evan nodded, his expression slowly turning serious.

"You do you...I’m going on my own."

As they cut through the clouds, the faint sounds of battle began to reach them, mingling with the roar of the wind.

Evan spread his wings, angling himself toward an average-sized island a short distance from the mainland. Meanwhile, Arthur redirected his descent to the mainland, cloaking himself in Gravity law energy.

Using his Farsight skill, Evan zoomed in on the ground and repeatedly teleported with Blink to shorten his flight distance while retaining his momentum. He got close enough that he could begin to clearly see the fighters.

An island bristling with Olrerth soldiers boarding ships in perpetration to reinforce their comrades on the mainland. No demons in sight.

’If that’s the case, there’s no problem...’

Evan held out his hand and summoned his sword, the blade transforming into a laser-like beam of pure energy while he continued his thoughts aloud.

"...if I nuke everyone."

His eyes glowed and his magic surged, channelling into his blade, which shimmered with a prismatic hue that intensified with each passing second.

"Mesarthim."

The island loomed larger as he plummeted closer, the ground rushing up to meet him. Evan, unfazed by the dizzying descent pulled back his sword in preparation for a thrust.

"Prismatic Vortex."

Evan thrust his blade forward, and a mass of spiralling prismatic flames erupted from its tip, hurtling toward the ground below. The flames, radiant and volatile, spun in a vortex, expanding and intensifying with every moment of descent.

On the ground, soldiers and mercenaries felt the surge of energy and instinctively looked up, their eyes widening in horror.

The sky above them was ablaze with Evan’s magic, and in a panic, many scrambled to attack, launching spells and projectiles in a desperate attempt to stop the oncoming devastation.

But their efforts were in vain.

The destruction energy enchanted prismatic flames surged downward with unstoppable force, consuming everything in their path.

Their energy attacks melted into the vortex, adding fuel to the inferno that spiralled before Evan. His flames devoured some of the attackers, incinerating them mid-air, their screams lost in the roar of the vortex.

Level 700s tried every conceivable water magic they knew but the flames evaporated everything with their terrifying heat.

When the vortex finally collided with the ground, the impact unleashed a cataclysmic explosion that echoed across the island.

***KA-BOOOOM!!!!!

The shockwaves rippled outward, distorting space and shattering the earth beneath it. The prismatic flames, now a fiery maelstrom, consumed everything in sight.

Soldiers were vaporized in seconds, their bodies turned to ash as the flames dug deep into the earth, burning through layers of rock and soil.

The ground itself cracked and split as the tectonic plates holding the island afloat fractured under the sheer force of the attack.

**RUMBLE!! **CRAAAAAACK!!!

The flames continued to carve into the island, creating a giant, gaping hole at its centre. The ocean water below evaporated upon contact with the residual heat, leaving a steaming, molten abyss where the centre of the island once stood.

"Oof...I think I destroyed about a third with that. And I only used half my magic power and a little bit of destruction energy."

Evan, still in his base state, remarked as the island split into two unequal halves, and began to crack and crumble.

The soldiers on the remaining landmass ran in terror, their screams of fear and despair filling the air. Some tried to escape, but the earth beneath them continued to fracture and collapse.

Evan’s magic, which had seeped into the very core of the island, detonated with a final, devastating explosion. The island was obliterated, the two halves disintegrating into dust.

***BOOOOOM!!!

The few ones who managed to survive the blasts— Level 700s with island-level durability—were severely injured.

They plummeted into the boiling ocean below, their bodies scalded by the superheated water. Some lost consciousness, sinking into the depths, their fates sealed in the watery grave that Evan’s attack had created.

"Damn...I’m stronger than I thought.

Oh well, considering my stat boosts and bonuses, it’s not surprising."

Evan glanced at his Stat Boost tab, before turning his gaze in the direction of the next island as he continued.

"Arthur did say one or two, didn’t he?"

With the sounds of his Level Ups echoing in his ears, Evan flapped his wings and dashed in the direction of the nearest island.

◇ ◇ ◇

Backtrack some moments before Evan consigned tens of thousands of soldiers to a watery grave, Arthur was freefalling to the ground at a speed of nearly a thousand metres per second.

Infusing spatial law energy into his eyes granted him a clear view of the battlefield below despite how far off he was, every detail rushing into focus with crystal clarity.

He could see the earth racing toward him, the chaotic dance of battle in full swing. The sensation of speed was exhilarating, the wind roaring past his ears, but Arthur’s mind was focused on the sight below.

Taking a deep breath, he summoned Celestia with a thought. The sword materialized in his hand, its semi-transparent blade lighting up with the silver glow of his anti-divinity, the energy crackling around the blade like an electrical storm.

His gaze locked onto a particular figure—a god, standing victorious over a defeated High-Rank Demoness.

The Demoness, a powerful combatant in her own right, had been outnumbered and overwhelmed by a coalition of around 14 gods and Divine Humans.

Despite her Level 990 power, they succeeded in defeating her, so she was now isolated behind enemy lines, with no way out.

Arthur could see the silver shine of the four stars on her torn uniform marking her as one of this world’s Four-Star Generals, hence why he picked the one about to kill her as his target.

|¬Pseudo-Authority of Gravity: Gravity Amplification...x75. ¬|

The moment Arthur activated his Pseudo-Authority, he became a streak of light, moving too fast for even Transcendents to react.

His descent accelerated, the ground blurring beneath him as he hurtled toward his target with terrifying speed. The air around him cracked and then shattered as he broke the sound barrier— twice, thrice, four times over.

With sound left behind, the god who Arthur targeted couldn’t even hear the booms heralding Arthur’s arrival.

The god barely had time to register what was happening before Arthur crashed down into him like a meteor.

***KRA-KOOOOOM!

The ground beneath them exploded outward, a shockwave of immense force ripping through the battlefield. Everything in sight—regardless of Existence Realm or Stage—was violently blown away, bodies and debris alike tossed aside as if by a wrathful deity.

The earth cracked and buckled under the force of the impact, a massive crater forming where Arthur had landed. The shockwave obliterated anything below Level 750 within range, their bodies disintegrated by the sheer power unleashed by Arthur’s Anti-Divinity.

A whirlwind of dust and debris was sucked upward, spiralling into the sky through the giant hole that had been torn in the clouds by the explosion.

As the dust began to settle, Arthur’s figure was revealed, standing tall with his foot stomped on the shattered chest of the near-dead god beneath him.

’Oh...this guy uses the law of life...’

Arthur thought as he realised the reason his target still lived, even though their chest had caved in, their bones were broken, and their golden blood spilt both on the ground and on Arthur’s face.

The battlefield was silent for a moment, the shockwaves still echoing in the distance.

Arthur yanked Celestia out from the god’s stomach, watching as the golden blood spurted from the wound. He glanced down at the broken body, his expression one of mild irritation.

"Missed the heart."

He muttered, almost to himself, before casually beheading the god with a swift, effortless swing. The severed head tumbled away, leaving only the corpse beneath Arthur’s foot.

Without a hint of hesitation, he reached into the gaping chest cavity and ripped out the god’s divine spark with his bare hand.

The battlefield, which had been thrown into chaos moments earlier by Arthur’s arrival, fell eerily silent. Those who had survived the blast struggled to their feet, still reeling from the shockwave that had knocked them off balance.

As the dust settled, soldiers and transcendents alike tried to regain their senses. When the transcendents finally recovered enough to approach the epicentre of the giant crater—spanning over five hundred kilometres in width—they were met with a sight that left them dumbfounded.

There, seated atop the corpse of the dead god, was Arthur. He sat with a casual air, as if lounging in his own throne room, the divine spark in his hands.

To their horror, he was chewing on it like it was candy, the raw power of the god being absorbed with every bite.

Collective shock washed over the onlookers. The transcendents were frozen in place, their minds struggling to comprehend the scene before them.

The sheer audacity of the act was beyond anything they had witnessed—a god slain in an instant, and their divine spark consumed like a mere snack.

Among the demons present, the commissioned officers recognized Arthur. They had been briefed on his appearance and sent images of what he looked like, and now, seeing him in the flesh, they couldn’t believe their eyes.

One of the other Four-Star Generals glanced up at the parted clouds where Arthur had descended from, remembering the message he received earlier: [Reinforcements are coming from the sky]

"He really came from the sky... and killed a transcendent!"

The reality dawned on him with a mix of awe and terror. Arthur, despite being a Sovereign, had just ended the life of a transcendent with the stunt he had pulled.

Then, Arthur’s faux true voice boomed out across the battlefield, reverberating through the air.

|¬Sup guys. Your order for one Progenitor Godslayer has arrived. ¬|"

The words hung in the air as he took another bite of the divine spark, absorbing its energy with a satisfied expression.

The energy coursed through him, repairing the damage done by his gravity manipulation. His broken arm bones, which had been shattered by the immense pressure of his attack, finally healed completely.

As he felt the last remnants of pain fade away, a voice warned him in his mind.

[Master, don’t pull that stunt again until you become a transcendent.]

’Haha, I wouldn’t.’

Arthur couldn’t help but chuckle internally. He knew the risks he had taken.

Increasing gravity by 75 times had been a dangerous move, one that had cost him dearly in the moments after.
