Chapter 519: You Broke the System!

"Thank you."

Artemisia said this with a small smile but Arthur only raised his brow in light surprise.

"I see...Artemisia, you should keep up your stoic expression. A smile on you would send arrows flying into the hearts of many guys."

"?"

Seeing Artemisia tilting her head with pure confusion on her face, Beatrix shook her head with a sigh as she spoke.

"Don’t bother, Arthur. Arty wouldn’t understand anyway."

"...what are you talking about?"

"See?"

Arthur just laughed at Beatrix’s words while Artemisia frowned as she felt she was being made fun of.

◇ ◇ ◇

Arthur picked up as many Divine Spark fragments as he could and they began making their way out of the Veiled Realm.

On the way out, Arthur decided to check how much energy he needed to accumulate to get to the next realm and the amount he discovered shocked him so much he nearly fell out of the sky.

When they arrived at the cliff, Beatrix questioned what happened but Arthur just sat on the ground and laughed.

"I just found out how much energy I need for my next breakthrough. It’s honestly absurd."

"How much?"

Considering how nonstandard Arthur was, Beatrix was expecting to hear a number like 20 or a similarly ridiculous number, but the answer she got was...very underwhelming.

"5."

"...just 5? That’s quite little considering it’s you we’re talking about here."

Beatrix was assuming that Arthur was in the Sovereign Realm now, where power jumps were enormous with each stage, so she didn’t think much of 5.

Putting It into numerical Values, Legendries had power levels maxing out at around 500,000 units, and Sovereigns had a base which was triple that value.

But Arthur already had that kind of power as a Legendary, so Beatrix was thinking the exponential increase he’d get would be a lot higher and more mind-blowing.

"Having a large power capacity has its cons too, huh? It’s good because it’d make you stronger in the same realm, but conversely, you’d need more energy to get to the next one."

Arthur mused, propping his chin on his palm and looking to the sky with a sigh...Then, he released his energy.

Immediately, the gravity around Beatrix, Evan, and Artemisia seemed to multiply, nearly slamming them to the ground. Sweat formed on their brows, and their faces paled.

The air thickened with Arthur’s destructive energy, so dense that the fabric of space around them shimmered and warped.

The ground beneath them cracked and trembled under the immense pressure, with the force of his energy causing the trees hundreds of metres away to sway violently.

In the next instant, the pressure vanished as suddenly as it had appeared, but the lingering sense of awe remained.

Seeing their shocked expressions, Arthur couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

"You see why I said it was absurd? I have to quintuple that."

Still laughing, Arthur got to his feet and a thought crossed his mind.

’If this is shocking enough for them, then I wonder how they’d react if they found out that what they just sensed was only half.

Mum did seal off 50% of my energy.’

Deciding to keep that thought to himself, Arthur turned around and headed towards the opening in the veil, when Evan—who snapped back to reality first, rushed up to him.

"Dude, when it’s time for me to get back to the future, I’d like for you to come with me."

"The heck?"

"I’m serious. There’s this particular person that I’d need your help defeating and with what you just showed, you’re certainly strong enough."

’Yes...strong enough to defeat the "Second Finger".’

Evan did not voice out that thought of his, but Arthur guessed it had something to do with the organization Evan had mentioned when they were fighting Idrilla, the one trying to let invaders into his world.

’Also, that guy he called Zacular was a demon. What’s more, there were many other Demons amongst his Reborn Adversaries.’

Arthur was analysing Evan’s opponents as they exited the Veil, and at that moment, something fell from the sky and hit Evan’s head.

"What the?"

The two goddesses emerged from the veil just in time to see this, and when they looked at the object falling to the ground, surprise filled their eyes.

"Isn’t that the stone you threw up before you entered?"

"It...is."

The stone he threw in the air before they entered the Veil and spent close to half an hour was now just falling down.

Evan was bewildered, but this state didn’t last long. He had experienced a similar phenomenon recently and he quickly understood what was happening.

He turned to the Veil behind him and then glanced at Arthur before asking.

"Isn’t this the same thing you did last month?"

"Yeah.

That Titan god’s corpse has been there for years, and yet it’s still so fresh. Time has to either be stopped or dilated to the extreme within that thing."

Artemisia explained in place of Arthur, earning a silent thumbs-up from the silver-haired teen as he headed towards the ruins of the city. He had already deactivated his Progenitor Authority, and the tear in the Veil had repaired itself automatically.

’We’re not the first to find this place, and we certainly would not be the last. I don’t want more Aramisians finding this place so I’d reinforce the seal on the Dimensional Gate outside.’

While Arthur was thinking this, Evan was breaking the Chief Priest’s seal. Without hesitation, he used his BoD skill and relieved the old man of his head, granting him all the remaining EXP he needed to get to the next Realm.

His evolution to a Legendary was quick, and took even less time than Arthur’s. He did have a scene where his body was sealed up inside some kind of cocoon like Arthur, but it didn’t take even a minute to break apart.

Evan’s Adaptive Evolution skill reacted with his Blessing of Destruction skill, converting the bootleg Destruction essence to real Destruction energy. Although he could still use destruction energy like normal, the skill amplified its potency to a whole new level, increasing the amount of damage he could deal.

As for his other Unique Skill, the first thing he did was summon his sword and slice his own arm.

"?!"

"What is wrong with you?!"

Artemisia exclaimed in shock when she saw Evan casually slit his wrist like it wasn’t a big deal, but Evan only shrugged a response.

"I’m just testing something out."

Looking at the blood spurting out of his hand, he continued.

"Mesarthim; Green."

His arm burst into light green flames, and seeing this, Arthur remarked in surprise.

"Oh, you gained ’Flames of Life’?"

These ’Flames of Life’ were the same kind of flames that Arthur’s Uncle Creusery had; what he had used to regenerate his arm earlier.

Of course, Creusery’s flames were far stronger than Evan’s, but his flames of life were impressive for his level.

Right after Evan’s wound healed without a scar, Artemisia dragged his ear and warned him.

"Cut yourself one more time, and I’d smack you with the back of my shoe."

Despite her serious warning, Evan just laughed and said it was a one-time test—a statement Artemisia highly doubted was true.

"So your RED flames Ignore Durability, ORANGE are for Enhancement, YELLOW purifies curses and debuffs, and GREEN heals.

What do the others do?"

When Arthur suddenly posed this question to Evan, the boy glanced at the skill tab in front of him that had three lines with [LOCKED] and replied.

"I’ll find out when I unlock them."

"Fair enough."

Arthur’s concise reply marked the end of that conversation, and the group began making their way over to the Dimensional Gate so they could leave this realm.

In a way, they had inadvertently fulfilled Idrilla’s wish to kill everyone in Iklaque as Arthur had done just that during his fight with the Chief Priest.

Right before they stepped out of the Dimensional Gate, Evan sent a question to Arthur’s way.

"Come to think of it, I can’t appraise you anymore. Why?"

"Oh, of course, you can’t."

The Concealment Ring Arthur got from Lucifer was a Cosmic Artifact. It was what hid his status from the Aramisians and the reason why they still had not realised that he had been moving around freely within their territories.

It was also currently active and was concealing Arthur’s current existence realm from them.

Sure, they knew how much energy he held, but with Arthur who had a high power capacity, energy was not a reliable method for judging his realm of Existence.

Understanding this, Arthur temporarily switched off the concealment, allowing Evan to peek a glance at his status and the Rogue Hero’s reaction was quite strange.

"Hahahahaha!!!"

He laughed.

Intrigued by Evan’s reaction, Artemisia and Beatrix glanced over as Arthur began sealing the Dimensional Gate. They looked through the diaphanous status board floating before Evan, and their expressions revealed no surprise.

This kind of thing was the norm when it came to Arthur, after all.
