Chapter 510: Arthur vs Crarox-Rematch!
The battle between Arthur and Crarox was not something anyone could interfere in, not even Idrilla who had summoned him.
Both had power on a whole ’nother level, and anyone trying to help either side might just die without knowing how.
All Idrilla could do was widen her bounded field as much as possible, whilst layering buffs on Crarox to help him resist the might of the Progenitor godslayer.
However—
"This...this is too much!"
Idrilla couldn’t help but exclaim as her eyes captured the sight of Arthur punching the giant Leviathan with his bare fist.
The sheer force of that punch sent Crarox hurtling from the sky, crashing violently into the earth below.
[Pseudo-Authority of Water!]
Law energy burst forth from Crarox’s form, permeating into the ground and causing the earth to tremble.
As a Leviathan, the ocean was Crarox’s home turf. However, they were currently within Idrilla’s Bounded Field and there was no ocean in sight.
So, what did Crarox do to gain an advantage?
[Ocean’s Genesis!]
He summoned the Ocean to him.
The ground caved into a massive sinkhole, and black water surged upwards, flooding kilometres of area. This newly formed ’ocean’ provided Crarox with enough space to swim comfortably, turning the battlefield into his element.
But Arthur was not one to back down.
He charged at the Leviathan and swung his blade, to which Crarox responded by lunging at him, using his horn to block the boy’s sword strike.
The shockwaves from their clash parted this pseudo-ocean, sending tsunamis crashing onto land.
Crarox’s tail blurred as it shot towards Arthur, but the boy’s reaction speed was instantaneous. He reached out with his left hand and caught the tip of the forked tail with a firm grip.
Tightening his grip, he caused cracks to spread across the sturdy scales of his tail and Crarox quickly acted to prevent losing his tail spines.
[Gravity!]
His command increased the force acting on them, aiming to slam Arthur down into the water below. In response, Arthur commanded the law with his Faux True voice.
¬Anti-Gravity. ¬
Arthur generated an equal anti-gravity force, and with the two equal forces acting on them simultaneously, there was no change in their motion.
Again, Arthur gave the same command, but with a modifier behind it.
¬Anti-Gravity...x10! ¬
It didn’t take a second for both of their bodies to be lifted up into the air with immense force, shooting high into the sky of the Bounded Field.
Crarox flailed around, trying to use his power to bring his body down, but it was futile due to Arthur’s superior law comprehension.
Clenching his right fist, Arthur swirled a mix of destruction, gravity and cosmic energy around it, focusing them all into a singular, devastating punch that he hurled forward with all his might.
¬Gravity...x25! ¬
The gravity of the Prime World Aramis was very high, and Arthur multiplied it by 25 for a short instant.
Space bent as his fist crashed down on Crarox’s head, shattering scales, bursting through flesh and cracking the bone of the Leviathan’s skull.
**WHOOSH!!!
Crarox plummeted through the air, the force of his descent creating a deafening roar.
**BOOOOMMMM!!!
The impact as he crashed into the pseudo-ocean was tremendous, sending towering waves in every direction. Water surged upwards and spilt over the edges of the massive sinkhole, drenching the battlefield in a deluge.
Crarox’s blood splashed through the air, mixing with the black water, so much that it was dyed dark red!
Looking at this from above, Arthur’s lips twisted into a slight frown.
"I wanted to kill him with that one, but he survived?"
It seemed that Idrilla had gone all-out in summoning Crarox, as she had given the Leviathan a lot more Vitality than it had when it was alive.
The water that surged upwards when Crarox’s body crashed into the ocean suddenly solidified into black ice projectiles that bombarded him from all directions.
¬Chronosphere. ¬
By Arthur’s command, the spheres of time power manifested around all the supersonic projectiles, halting their time flow.
Each sphere had a ring around its orbit with the numbers 1-12 on them.
¬Antistrofí ¬
Arthur spoke the language of the Olympians, sending all the ice projectiles flying towards Crarox who was healing under the water with his Pseudo-Authority’s power.
Following up this reversal, he held up a finger to the sky and began condensing time law energy at the tip.
Power surged from Arthur’s Time Origin Core, coalescing into a massive sphere that hovered in the sky above him.
Glittering wisps of light snaked across the sphere’s surface, and a calm breeze emanated from it, quickly turning into a strong, continuous gale that expelled bands of invisible cosmic energy.
Watching this, the young goddess Beatrix questioned.
"That...that’s my skill isn’t it?"
"That’s not your skill, Beatrix."
Artemisia calmly replied as she grabbed Beatrix and dashed off in the opposite direction, running as fast as her feet could carry.
"That’s a fucking catastrophe, and we need to get the hell out of its range."
Their little conversation did not reach Arthur’s ears, and even if it did, it wouldn’t have stopped what happened next.
¬Pseudo-Authority of Time: Time Bomb. ¬
Sensing the imminent danger, Crarox paused his healing. Emerging from the depths of the black ocean, the Leviathan called upon the power of his Pseudo-Authority.
[Pseudo-Authority of Water: Black Tide Spear]
He conjured a massive sphere of black water, stretching over a kilometre in length. With a mighty roar, Crarox launched the colossal spear to meet Arthur’s Time Bomb.
The two titanic forces collided in mid-air, with a cataclysmic impact.
Time went haywire, distorting and fragmenting around the point of collision. The fabric of space itself seemed to twist and tear as the Bounded Field’s barrier buckled under the immense pressure, ripping open and causing waves of chaotic energy to surge outward.
The marks on Idrilla’s face glowed brightly as she siphoned divinity from an external source to repair the barrier as fast as she could.
If her Bounded Field was destroyed, Crarox would disappear and she would not be able to do a thing against Arthur!
As for Evan who was in another corner of the field, he noticed the surge of power rippling through the air, emanating from the collision between Arthur’s Time Bomb and Crarox’s Black Tide Sphere.
Sensing something amiss, he turned just in time to witness a baffling phenomenon unfold before him.
In an instant, he found himself standing in the exact position he had been five minutes ago.
"...huh?"
Confusion clouded his expression as he realized that the energy he had gathered on his sword in preparation for an attack had vanished without a trace.
Before he could comprehend what was happening, a piercing cry from Silverwing caught his attention. The bird was already wounded, with the same attack he had been intending to use on it.
A second later, ’memories’ of attacking it entered his head, making him wince lightly.
"What’s happening?"
Evan muttered, bewildered by the sudden shifts.
His confusion deepened as he observed wounds reappearing on Faldo’s body, wounds the dragon had previously healed with Ignis Vitalis.
As the Dragon returned to its battered state before his eyes, he quickly understood what was happening.
’This is...Arthur’s time power?’
Arthur’s time bomb had made time go haywire. It had messed with the flow, undoing or skipping events unpredictably.
Just as he processed the situation, Craitid lunged towards him only to disappear and reappear less than a meter away in an instant.
Startled, Evan teleported rapidly to evade the sudden attack.
’The time distortion made Craitid skip the process of reaching me and directly arrive at the moment he attacked... Damn, time manipulation is insane!’
Thankfully, Arthur realised what was up and reined the distortions with his Pseudo-Authority, so Evan didn’t experience any more shifts.
[Prism Pulse!]
Crarox refracted and amplified beams of light energy, creating razor-sharp shards that he hurled at Arthur.
They held the power to slice through Arthur’s flesh with deadly precision, but Arthur didn’t let them hit him.
He used the Prism Pulse he stole from Crarox when he killed him, sending forth his own beams of silver destructive light.
Suddenly, he felt a pulling force act on him and rocks emerged from under the ocean below, rapidly slamming into Arthur’s body and trapping him inside a giant sphere of earth.
Without a second’s delay, Crarox roared and unleashed a breath attack to blast through the rocks, resulting in a massive explosion in the sky.
Shockwaves burst out from within, blowing away the smoke revealing Arthur’s form with silver blood dripping from his forehead.
An illusory clock manifested behind him and its second hand turned back a full minute.
All Arthur’s wounds disappeared and he unfurled his wings, holding up his hands as he cast a Doomsday Class Spell with a grin on his face.
¬Pseudo-Authority of Destruction: Armageddon! ¬
As they were in a Bounded Field within a Dimensional Realm, Arthur was unable to pull real meteors from space past the Atmosphere, the Realm and the Bounded Field’s barriers all at once.
Since he could not get real meteors, he simply created them with his Pseudo-Authority.
The rock-shaped constructs of destruction energy rained down from the skies, pelting the ground and tearing through Crarox’s energy shields to wound him all over.
In a way, these constructs were even more dangerous than real meteors.
"Aren’t you stronger than when you were alive?! Show me more!!"
Arthur demanded as he conjured countless spears of Destructive energy in the sky, throwing them into the mix with the meteors.
Crarox roared and launched spears of water to counter as many as he could, before lunging at Arthur with his jaws wide open.
Arthur dodged Crarox’s bite and threw a punch at the Leviathan’s side, but Crarox’s tail flashed in and parried his punch.
Taking the tail as his next target, he grabbed it and pulled it over his shoulder. His muscles bulged as he dragged and flung the Leviathan’s body through the air, sending him tumbling down into the black ocean around them.
Crarox slammed down into the ocean after spinning around in the air, sending waves of water surging sky-high. These waves crashed towards Arthur but the Progenitor met them with a snort and threw a punch with Gravitemporal Harmony.
**BAAAMM!!!
His fist smashed through the waves, cleaving them in two before the force travelled onward, striking Crarox squarely in the face.
Arthur followed with a dropkick, intensifying gravity to 25 times its normal force upon impact, driving the colossal Crarox deep into the ocean depths.
Yet, with surprising speed, the Leviathan’s tail lashed upward, striking Arthur’s side before he could adjust, resulting in both combatants plunging into the depths below.
In the darkened waters, Crarox’s tail surged forward again, aiming to impale Arthur. The Progenitor anticipated the attack and moved to intercept it, but at the final instant, the tail veered, encircling Arthur and stabbing into his back.
With a violent jerk, Crarox flung Arthur skyward, sending him flying out of the water like a hapless puppet on a string while he reared up, ready to deliver a follow-up attack.
Silver blood spilt from Arthur’s wounds, but he simply laughed and spoke.
"Did you know that blood is one of the things in an Existence’s body that contains the most energy?"
Snapping his fingers, Arthur ignited the blood stuck on Crarox’s tail which had stabbed him, which erupted into an explosion of destruction energy that destroyed Crarox’s tail.
Idrilla, however, quickly healed him and regenerated the tail with her skill.
Roaring, Crarox lunged at Arthur, however, a streak of white light collided with the Leviathan’s head at supersonic speed, knocking the massive creature’s body sideways and onto the ground.
"...wha-?
As Arthur looked on in confusion, Evan’s voice rang out.
[Arthur! Did you see my sandbag dragon?]
Evan flew over as he asked, but the Rogue Hero’s eyes quickly noticed the fallen dragon. This identified the ’streak of light’ that had knocked Crarox out of the sky as the High Dragon Faldo, the same opponent Evan had been battling.
[Ah, there it is.]
With a smile, Evan teleported over to Faldo’s position with his Blink skill, punching the dragon’s head with a lightning-filled fist, before grabbing it by its tail and flying away.
[Thanks!]
"..."
"..."
Both Arthur and Idrilla watched dumbfoundedly as Evan dragged the dragon away and flung its massive body towards the Demonic Wyvern Craitid, knocking that one out of the sky before charging at Silverwing with his sword drawn.
"Pfft...BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"
Arthur burst out laughing at Evan’s ridiculousness, while Idrilla quickly cast a buff on Crarox before rushing over to the other battleground.
