Chapter 451: Uninvited guests

"gods."

"What?"

"Two of them just entered my perception range."

His words astounded the three Demons present and simultaneously, they attempted to spread their auras and confirm his words.

"Don’t. You’d alert them."

"How can we not sense their divinities? There are Divinity Detection and suppression Magic formations in this place.

If gods entered, then all the High Ranked Demons in Militopolis would know."

Considering this was where the Premier of South-eastern Gledea’s office was located, it was only natural that there was that much security.

"They’re concealing it somehow. But it’s nigh-impossible for gods to escape from my perception."

Arthur held up his hand and weaved a spell circle with cosmic energy and for a moment, Alvey felt he saw something glitter above the boy’s hands.

[Did he just...?]

’He did. Seems the Rule Breaker is helping.’

After replying to Celestia, Arthur turned his gaze towards Alvey before saying.

"I’d go first. Follow my traces."

His words came out a second before he vanished from the spot and Alvey quickly infused his eyes with spatial law energy, spotting the spatial channel Arthur had used to teleport just now.

He glanced at McEnda and Sigesi and the two nodded before following suit.

Abandoned Park

Militopolis

January 17th

531st Divine Year

"This is not a good idea."

"What? Do you have any better ideas? The Demons just won a major battle against the Aramisians. The majority of the high-ranking demons are over on the other side of the Continent, consolidating their rule over their new territory.

This is the one time where the number of High-Ranking Demons would be at its lowest, as such, it’s the best time to take action."

Such were the words exchanged between two teenage girls who had just emerged from a forest near this abandoned park.

The one who spoke first was a fairly tall girl with straight black hair and a pretty face that showed little expression.

She had a pair of gold-coloured eyes that twinkled with faint light and was wearing a simple white long-sleeved shirt, a black tie, black pants and brown shoes.

Rather than a teen, she had the air of a mature businesswoman.

Beside her, was a girl who could be said to be her opposite in more ways than one.

The second girl boasted long white hair, and bright hazel eyes that seamlessly complemented her beautiful facial features.

Contrary to her black-haired friend, she was quite expressive and she dressed informally too, wearing a plain black turtleneck and a white skirt, atop a pair of sneakers.

"The number of Demons here is even lower since Alvey is here. There’s not a better time for us to be her than now."

"There’s also not a better time to DIE than now."

Clearly, the black-haired girl wasn’t okay with the two of them—young goddesses—being in the middle of Gozonian Demon territory.

Unfortunately, she had looked away for a bit and her friend had left for the trip alone. She then proceeded to chase after her to drag her back and thus, the current situation.

"Don’t worry, Arty. Alvey’s the kind to ask questions first and kill later."

"So, you’re saying our potential deaths are on the table?"

’Arty’ spoke with a sigh before facepalming and continuing.

"Why am I even here, I should have just knocked you out and taken you back home."

"Relax, Arty. The demons would not be able to sense us due to t-!!!"

The white-haired girl’s eyes suddenly widened in shock and she abruptly turned to the side and pushed her friend to the floor.

"Wha?!"

Just as she did that, a hand materialized out of thin air and grabbed where her friend’s neck was a mere second ago.

"Hmm? I noticed this when we were Tolgue but you really are quite the perceptive one."

A foreign voice rang out and the two girls immediately took distance from where the hand had manifested itself. A second later, the full appearance of its owner was revealed and seeing who it was, the white-haired girl felt chills run down her spine.

’It’s him!’

She could feel goosebumps on her skin just by looking at the person who had appeared in front of her and a sense of weakness washed over her form.

"This is bad. Arty, we’re running."

She immediately said this and Arty certainly didn’t need to be told twice. There was no way they weren’t going to run away from someone who saw through their concealment + recognition inhibition and caused their Existence Realms to drop by a stage with his mere presence.

The white-haired girl slammed her palms together and spatial essence wrapped around her and her friends, instantly warping them out of the space and to another location.

They reappeared a few kilometres away, after which the girl cast repeated teleportation spells until they were out of Militopolis entirely.

Reappearing some few kilometres outside the city, they both fell to the ground and the white-haired girl began panting heavily.

"Here, drink this."

Arty helped her with energy potions but as soon as she put the potion into her mouth, she suddenly spat out the contents and pushed Arty out of the way, before jumping in the opposite direction.

Like before, a pair of hands materialized out of thin air and nearly grabbed them, followed by the same voice as before.

"So you are proficient in space as well.

However, the spatial traces you believe you erased were clear as day to me so finding your location wasn’t that big of a deal."

The two girls stared at the silver-haired teen with wary gazes, rousing their divinities in preparation to attack, however, the boy didn’t seem to mind and just stood there with his hands in his pocket.

Silence pervaded the area for a moment and in the next the white-haired girl snapped her fingers and golden-brown chains manifested from the earth and wrapped around the silver boy’s body.

Simultaneously, she stretched out her hands and a dozen golden brown-rimmed portals appeared in the air and from them emerged spears of light that hurtled towards the boy.

The girl also kicked off the ground and dashed forward, about to summon her weapon when she suddenly felt a hand grab her by the neck and slam her back onto the ground.

Her eyes widened in shock as she looked at the silver-haired boy, completely free of the restraints she had placed on him.

In his left hand were the spears of light she had launched at him a second ago and he smiled lightly upon seeing her confused expression.

"What’s wrong? Things didn’t play out according to the ’Future’ you saw."

His words sent a shiver down her spine as she realised that he had figured out what she had just done.

Not minding her fearful expression, he let go of her neck and stood upright, shattering the spears of light as he continued.

"I mean, the both of us can tell we’re both adept at time manipulation. Plus, there was how you always reacted a second before I took action. It was easy to figure you were seeing the future."

Holding up his right hand, he twirled a ring of blue energy around his finger.

"If I knew you were seeing the future, then it was pretty easy to deal with it and make you see the ’Future’ I wanted you to see."

When she heard his words, the white-haired girl’s eyes widened to their limit and it was then she finally comprehended the true danger she and her friend were now in.

Suddenly, there was a burst of divinity behind them and the silver-haired boy turned towards Arty, an expression of surprise forming on his face.

His mere presence had reduced her power from the Intermediate Stage of the Epic realm to the Inferior Stage, however, she had just activated a skill that boosted it back up and even took it higher to the Superior Stage.

’So, would that normally make her a Legendary?’

The boy smiled and dashed towards her, however, she blitzed him with her newfound speed, circling to his back with her sword drawn.

She pressed the blade to his neck and placed her other hand on his lower back, intending to touch him.

"Arty, NO!! He’s an Authority holder!! He interfered with my future sight!"

"?!"

Unfortunately, her friend’s warning came far too late and the boy whom she had a sword to his neck, turned around faster than she could even see and caught her blade with his hands.

He then threw out a kick that knocked her through the air and down to the ground beside her white-haired friend.

Just before he could step forward, another voice rang out, questioning the situation.

"What the hell is going on here, Arthur?"

The silver-haired boy, Arthur, turned towards the new entrants and shrugged before replying.

"To be honest, I’m not so sure."

McEnda and Sigesi looked at him with confusion when he replied, before alternating their gazes between the two girls on the floor not too far from him.

"They’re the ones?"

"Yep."

While they were having this casual exchange, the two girls could not hide the looks of recognition that flashed in their eyes when they saw McEnda.

’A High Ranked Demon! And it’s a Four-Star General at that! How did he find us? And just who’s this boy he’s talking with?’

McEnda’s presence here had sealed their chances of escape, as unless a deity intervened, there was no way that two Epics could run away from a Superior Transcendent.

As soon as the man’s piercing blue eyes turned towards them, they felt a heavy aura press down on their bodies, sealing their movements completely.

It was then that the last of the group of four who were in the Underground facility in Militopolis appeared.

"Huh? What are you doing here?"

Alvey’s reaction upon seeing the two girls was one of recognition and surprise, and noticing this, McEnda released his aura and asked.

"You know them?"

Before Alvey could answer, the white-haired girl turned around and looked at the man standing behind her, her eyes widening slightly a moment before she proceeded to take an action no one expected in this situation.

"Alvey!!!"

She leapt from the floor and jumped towards Alvey, pulling him into a hug as she called out his name.
