Chapter 398: Race Rulers

"So, mind telling me what the hell is with the ranking system in this Universe? Why a Half-Deity would be considered a ’High-Rank god’?

Where I come from, he could be executed for that."

The location was Alvey’s office, a few minutes after they had left the conference room. The demons had barely sat down when Arthur voiced out this question, and McEnda had question marks floating all over his head when he heard this.

"Executed? For just that?"

"It’s the fact that he’s a Half-Deity Realm. Calling himself a ’High-Rank god’ would be taken as an insult to the dignity of real High Ranks and they’d erase the dude from existence.

My home Universe is dominated by the Devil race so we don’t have any gods on that level, but-"

"Hold up, you don’t have gods on the Half-Deity realm...in the ENTIRE universe?"

McEnda looked at Arthur skeptically as he said this, and now it was Arthur’s turn to have question marks plastered all over his face.

"What? I meant actual High Ranks, not Half-Deity Realm existences.

If its Half-Deity realm existences, then there are millions of them. But when you up things to the Low Tier Deity Realm, the number drops drastically.

By the Mid-Tier deity realm, they are on watch lists and if they do anything funny—instant execution by the Devils."

Leaving aside the treatment of gods within the Devil-dominated Hell Universe, Arthur’s words allowed McEnda and Alvey to figure out something that was drastically different in the two Universes.

"Are High-Ranks Deity Realm existences where you come from?"

"High-Tier Deities to be specific.

All gods below the Deity Realm are unranked...they might as well be civilians."

"...civilian Half-Deity Realms?"

McEnda and Alvey had dumbfounded expressions on their faces when Arthur spoke. Sigesi as well, was also surprised despite it not showing on her face.

"You can be walking on the street and that random guy you bump shoulders with could be anything between a Legendary or a Transcendent.

Of course, the odds of it being a Transcendent are much lower, but you get what I’m saying."

Before any of them could even speak up, Arthur held up his hand to stop them before continuing.

"My perception may be a bit skewed because of my surroundings. My home planet for example is an Ancient World...or an ’Apex’ world, if you call it."

The World rank above that of Prime Worlds and the next stage in their evolution was that of Apex. But very few planets ever reached this stage before their lifespans ran out.

"But let’s leave my home Universe...my question IS about gods, after all.

My dad is a ’god King’ in his Universe, ruling over the ’Underworld’, and he’s in the Monarch Realm.

You know that realm, right?"

"Of course, we do. That’s the Realm of the Race Emperors."

"Race Emperors?"

Arthur raised a brow when he heard this term from McEnda, but he quickly snapped back to the current topic.

"You’d explain that later when I’m done.

Anyway, in his Universe, gods blow the Deity Realm are all ’Unranked’.

The title of ’low ranked god’ is something only ’Low Tier Deities’ have. Mid Tiers are Mid Ranked and High Tiers are High Ranked.

Superior Stage High Tiers could be called god Kings but this is usually in cases where they govern over important territories in their Universe.

Like my Elder Uncle who’s a Superior High Tier, but since he’s one of the ’Big Three’ in that Universe, he’s a ’god King’ as well.

My second Uncle who’s wanted to kill me since I was born, that guy is a Monarch Realm; who according to my Grandpa, is an Intermediate stage."

The people Arthur was speaking about were Poseidon and Zeus.

As the King of Olympus and Master of that Universe, Zeus was an Intermediate Stage Monarch just like all other surrounding Universal Masters.

Though Hades was an Inferior Stage, Arthur felt that if it came down to a fight between the brothers:

’Dad’s gonna win.’

Leaving aside his bias due to Hades being his father and looking at things objectively, he still believed Hades going to win.

First of all, the man was a Sub-Cosmic Being.

Using Arthur as an example; the boy was a Sub Cosmic Inferior Stage Legendary, and he could match Sigesi who was a Superior Stage evenly and beat the shit out of multiple other Superior Stages in the form of the gods who were weakened by his progenitor authority.

Scaling that up to the Monarch Realm, Hades could jump stages and fight people above his stage with ease.

Of course, he wasn’t as ridiculous as Arthur, but if it was against just 1 Intermediate Stage Monarch, he wouldn’t have any problems.

"For the Demon side of things...I only have a Demon-ruled Universe that’s close by as a reference.

There, Demons below Transcendence are all Low Ranks. Half-Deity Realms are Mid Ranks, Low Tier Deities are High Ranks, while from the Mid-Tier and above, you’re a Demon Lord with the Demon King being a Monarch."

More so than the ranking system that Arthur just informed them of, the three demons were more curious about how the boy had so much information about other universes.

That wasn’t how things were in Valmone, after all.

"Anyway, that’s how it is from my side. How do you guys do things here really?"

"You should already know how things are here.

Epics and below are Low Ranks, Legendries and Sovereigns are Mid ranks, Transcendents are High Ranks, while Half-Deities are Peak Ranks."

Arthur nodded in affirmation after Alvey had spoken. This wasn’t the first time he had heard this, after all.

"After that, Low and Mid-Tier Deities are Junior and Senior Demon Lords respectively. High Tiers are all Demon Kings.

Monarchs, are Demon Emperors."

As he explained, he used a light projection to display the ranking chart. Upon conclusion, he snapped his fingers, and the projected chart replicated itself multiple times, creating a visual cascade of the ranking information but with different colours for each copy.

"The ’Lord, King and Emperor’ titles do not only apply to us Demons but to every other race in this Universe.

It’s a ’Race Ruler’ system. Each Ruler is required to be a member of the Universe’s Pantheon."

"So in the case of Elves, it’d be an Elven Lord, Elven King and so on?"

"Basically."

Arthur nodded in understanding when he heard this, internally noting that the system was very distinct despite its simplicity.

"The gods do not use the ’Peak’ rank, so theirs is slightly different.

Half-deities are High Ranks, and after that, the Low Tier Deities are ’god Lords’."

"The fuck is a god Lord? Sounds strange as hell."

The teenage progenitor felt the ’god Lord’ title sounded weird, but besides that, he quickly filled in the remaining gaps up until the ’god Emperor’ rank.

"So, I’m guessing the Main Entities are the ’Race Emperors’?"

When he asked this, Alvey shook his head while dismissing the light projections and leaving just one which he turned into a ring of light with twelve orbs around it. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

"Not all of them are Race Emperors since beings on that level number very few."

"Up to a dozen?"

"Known Race Emperors aren’t even up to half of that number."

"Oof...

So the universe is the playground of the Race Kings while the Emperors are the hidden bosses behind the scenes, huh? Got it."

Arthur’s analogy was very questionable, but it still pretty much painted the picture of how things were in Valmone.

"Now that’s out of the way, let’s get to the main business."

The Three were confused about what Arthur referred to as the main business, but seeing how the boy’s demeanour turned serious, they guessed it was something important.

"Before I came to this Universe, my great-grandpa filled me in on some basic information, though it was over 12,000 years old.

He told me about the big shots here, hence I knew about your planet; Gozon, before I came here."

Arthur then tapped the table and created multiple tiny balls of earth surrounding a ball of flames before continuing.

"However, despite all he told me, he didn’t mention anything about why ’Prime Worlds conquered by Gozon mysteriously disappear after a few years’."

As soon as Arthur said that, McEnda and Alvey’s gazes on him narrowed dangerously, but the boy shrugged it off and continued speaking.

"I wasn’t just playing around in Duskhand for two weeks, you know? I got some pretty important information, about how they got their Fake Divines, and I even captured the guy who makes the most of them.

The man knew quite a lot, given his position."

He pulled out the Time Sealed Ger from his subspace and juggled the cuboid seal for a bit before tossing it back in.

Arthur then faced Alvey and McEnda and a tense silence filled the room as the two sides faced off with their gazes.

Eventually, Alvey broke it, repeating the same line he had spoken before.

"You are not a Gozonian High-Rank Demon so that information is not for your ears."

Just before Arthur could counter his words, a different voice rang out in the room, surprising all four of them.

"Always so serious Alvey, you could at least tell him the less important reason."
