Chapter 389: Combo Beam Attacks
While the Stellar Guard withstood the gods’ combined assault, Arthur felt the overwhelming feedback of the blocked attacks, a sensation akin to being struck in the back of the head with a sledgehammer.
He quickly unsummoned Lostvayne to reduce the strain, but that only helped alleviate it a little bit as the Stellar Guard’s recoil for blocking such a powerful combo attack was too much for the current him to deal with.
Still, the reduced strain granted him enough clarity of mind to make preparations for the follow-up the gods were undoubtedly preparing.
Arthur’s pupils darted in the direction where the corpse of the god C lay, slamming his hand into the ground and sending cosmic energy infused with the law of summoning’s power towards it.
Conveniently, the shockwaves rippling outward from the explosion had moved the god’s corpse away from the blast’s epicentre so it was not consumed immediately.
His energy sped through underground as though it raced against the outward radiation of the explosion above ground.
A race it won, succeeding in reaching and engulfing the corpse with the law of summoning’s power. Arthur then harnessed the law’s power, sacrificing the fallen god’s remains to summon a random creature with a singular command—to assail the gods.
The combined might of the gods’ attacks and Arthur’s defensive manoeuvre had sculpted a colossal crater, dwarfing even the previous 12-kilometer-wide chasm created by Arthur’s own seismic surge.
As the explosion subsided to reveal the devastated landscape, the gods charged up their energies to send in another wave of attacks towards Arthur who was still trapped within their combined zone.
However, before the leader of the trio could give the attack command, a giant fist appeared out of nowhere and punched his body in the side.
**BAMMMM!!!!
The god felt the same kind of impact a human being hit with a dump truck would feel, with his body being sent hurtling towards the ground at supersonic speed.
"WHAT THE FUCK?!"
"DAMMIT, WHERE DID THIS THING COME FROM!?"
The other two screamed out as they turned and saw the 20-foot-tall bearded giant who bumped his fists together before throwing out one of said fists in the direction of the second god.
’Dammit!! dammit!!’
The man cursed repeatedly as he redirected some of the spells that he had planned to send Arthur’s way towards the giant’s fist.
He noticed the summoning circles rotating around the giant’s torso, showing that the creature had only been summoned partially, sending the other half of his spells towards those circles.
But before they reached their target, Arthur’s faux true voice rang out in the area.
|¬Bounded Field: Hall of Fractured Time¬|
The energy of the laws of time and space expanded from his body, mixing in with the ambient cosmic energy to weave a radiant network of energy that spread out like a spider’s web, enveloping everything within a 500-metre radius of his position in resplendent light.
From the ground, a shimmering mystic boundary line emerged, delineating the confines of the technique with an ethereal barrier of energy, from which a colossal dome of energy materialized.
This dome’s materialization was obstructed by the Combined Zones of the gods, but Arthur simply pumped in droves of cosmic energy, eventually putting in enough to shatter it.
"GARG!!"
The gods all felt the backlash of having their Zones shattered, spitting out blood while grunting in pain.
Like father like son.
Arthur had broken the combined zones of the three gods the same way Hades had done the same against the ten gods of Borgeth.
**SHRING!!
Faster than they could recover from the backlash, Arthur grabbed Celestia and unleashed an upward-arcing Extinction slash.
The thin slash of silver light split apart the air as it passed, slicing through all the magic attacks that the third god had unleashed towards him and causing them to detonate midway.
Reversing his grip on his sword, Arthur slashed downwards, sending another Extinction slash that cut through the explosion and reached the god who was behind it, lopping off one of his arms in the process.
"Is my aim getting bad or something...?"
Arthur questioned as he turned around while encasing Celestia in his silver aura, unleashing a massive surging wave of aura that collided with the spell of the god who had been punched by the giant earlier.
The god prepared another spell, forcing his energy circuits that were still half fried from the backlash of his zone being destroyed, but Arthur acted faster than he could even craft the spell circle.
Opening his mouth, the progenitor condensed destruction law energy into a single point in front of it, and by the time the god had finished his short chant for his spell, the condensed energy had transformed into a beam of silvery destruction energy shooting through the air.
**BOOOMM!!!!
The dragon breath blasted through the half-formed spell circles and hit the god who was conjuring them, sending his body tumbling through the air with golden blood spraying downwards.
’I’m getting exhausted. The Stellar Guard drained me a lot...’
**BAM! BAAMM!!! BAAAMM!!!
That sudden sound had Arthur turning around to see that giant whom he had summoned pummelling the other god who had attacked him. From the dozens of magic spells trapped within blue orbs of light, Arthur figured that the man had used projectiles against the giant, only for them to be trapped in Chronospheres.
He shook his head as he dismissed both his bounded field and the partial summoning, turning the giant kilometre-wide dome to fragments of light while the giant’s body was returned to where it came from.
As if on cue, a streak of red light shot through the air, crashing into the same spot where the god had been pummelled into the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust and dirt.
When he blew away the dust with a simple gust of wind, Arthur saw the figure of Stelan, holding up the neck of one of the god duo that he had instructed the summoned godslayer to take care of.
"You haven’t killed that guy till now?"
"I had my hands full dealing with the Legendries who tried to protect him."
Stelan casually replied as he grabbed the body of the god who had been pummelled to the ground by the giant with his other hand and bashed the two gods’ skulls together repeatedly.
He then flung their bodies through the air like dirty rags, all while Arthur inspected the man’s state.
The godslayer had lots of injuries all over his body, cuts, stab wounds and even bite marks on his arms, though most of the wounds had healed, with the only evidence of their presence being the holes they had torn in his clothes.
’Guess he’s good at using his blood manipulation for healing...’
Stelan raised his hand and roused his energy, manipulating the blood that had spilt when he had bashed the two gods’ skulls together and condensing it in front of his hands.
At that moment, Arthur flashed in beside him, condensing a ball of dense purple light, crackling with a potent combination of destructive and time law energy, and swirling with an aura of anti-divinity.
"Let’s combine our attacks, shall we?"
Though the power of Arthur’s Null made Stelan feel existential fear, he did not show it and silently nodded, infusing more blood law energy into the blood orb he was condensing in his palm.
Together, they unleashed two devastating beams—a reddish-gold and a purple-silver—tearing through the air. The gods who were the targets of the destructive-blood combination had their bodies obliterated without even being able to resist.
The one struck by the reddish-gold beam was blasted to pieces, splattering blood and organ fragments in all directions, while the other, hit by the purple-silver attack, turned to dust.
Only the divine spark of the latter remained floating in the air, the sole evidence of the fact that he once existed.
|¬Attraction. ¬|
Stelan winced lightly when he heard Arthur’s faux true voice, but his expression quickly transformed into one of surprise when he saw what Arthur had done.
The Divine Sparks of the two gods shot through the air and towards his outstretched arms, and Arthur caught them and washed them with water magic.
"...what...did you just do? How did you do that?"
