Chapter 206: A glimpse of Hades’ true power

[Authority of space: Spatial Isolation - Release]

Purple space-attributed magic power swirled around a single point in front of the floating trio, the magic power then turned into an orb that increased in size until it was about a thousand kilometres in diameter.

Seeing the large clump of mana, Aurora came out of the spacecraft, wanting to see what was being held within.

The magic power wrapping then dispersed to reveal a giant blue crystal, emitting a subtle aura.

"Oy, is this what I think it is?"

Hades recognized the crystal and flew closer to touch it.

"Try not to absorb the knowledge, you’d render it useless."

Arthur gave a warning as he floated closer to it and touched the crystal. The essence of time within him trembled in joy the moment his hand touched the crystal.

"It is indeed hard to resist the temptation, but for the sake of a brighter future, I must not."

He removed his hand and told Lewis to return it to isolation, which he did instantly. After saying a few more words, Arthur dismissed Lewis and he warped out of the planet, back to Parmis.

"What are you planning on using this for?"

Aurora could not help but ask, Hades also turned to him for an answer.

"Magic."

With that reply, Arthur removed the cosmic energy wrapped around his body and dropped back to the ground instantly.

Right before he collided with the ground, he spread out his wings to break kill his momentum and landed on the ground softly.

"Hey dad, how about you show me that now."

Hades landed on the floor and asked with a look of curiosity.

"That?"

"What a deity looks like when they are serious."

"Oh."

Hades nodded then turned to Esna and Layla before asking.

"This is gonna be more heart-rending than seeing a planet explode. Are you sure you’d be okay? If not, you can leave."

The two girls hesitated to reply, taking time to ponder on it. After a few moments, they both reached an agreement and decided to stay.

"Aurora, help me make sure nothing goes wrong."

Hades called out to the floating Aurora who nodded in affirmation, he then looked back at the trio in front of him and took a deep breath.

**BOOOMMM!!!!

Hades’ aura suddenly swelled up, the energy radiating from his body was enough to crater the ground around him. Esna and Layla involuntarily dropped to their knees, their bodies instinctively pushing them to submit to a greater power as there was no chance of escape if it were to ever become hostile.

Arthur was still better off as he covered himself with cosmic energy, but the beads of sweat on his head showed that he was already beginning to falter.

"Hmm..."

Hades rose an eyebrow looking at this but still continued with his demonstration. Darkness wrapped around his body for a second, the next, Hades’ figure had grown to a whopping five meters tall. His dark obsidian eyes now glittered with the light of stars within them.

Two rings appeared on his fingers, a silver skull on his right hand and an opal one on his left.

Jet black armour made of Stygian iron covered his body, the legendary artifact created by the three cyclops brothers, the ’Helm of Darkness’, elaborately engraved with images of death and torture, appeared in the air and slowly descended to his head.

A cape of black flames flowed from the neck of his armour to the floor, yet the flames did not seem to give off any heat.

The essences of various laws flowed around his body in tandem with the enormous amount of divinity that dwarfed that of most of the Olympian gods.

Hades’ glittering eyes flashed as he gazed at the trio silently before laughing boisterously, however, the trio were not in the mood to laugh at all.

Layla and Esna had fallen flat on the floor and could barely hold on to their consciousness, as for Arthur, he tried to activate his progenitor authority but found that he could not!

The pressure on his body was too much, the barrier of cosmic energy he created was shattered just by the pressure released from Hades’ body.

At this point, Arthur swore in his heart that he could understand how the legendary titan Atlas, who was said to carry the sky felt on a daily basis.

He tried cranking his head up but he could not see his father anymore, all he could see was an insurmountable mountain of power.

An unbreakable wall of power.

Arthur...despaired.

The reality finally set in on him.

He had killed a few demigods and had gotten slightly arrogant, he didn’t even realize his arrogance himself.

However seeing his father’s appearance and the ridiculous amount of energy he was flaring up, feeling the pressure he emitted, he finally understood.

’This...is a god.’

’This is what I have to kill in the future?’

’Is that even possible?’

’How long will it take me to reach this level?’

’Would I even reach this level?’

It was then Hades finally spoke.

|You are strong, Arthur, truly. As a father, I am proud to have you as my son. However, do not get complacent.

Your future opponents are gods like me who have lived for hundreds of thousands, millions, even billions of years and have accumulated far more power and influence than the current you can dare to dream of.|

He rose his hands and took off his helm of darkness and held it in his arms. He then turned his gaze back to Arthur and continued.

|Do you feel fear? Do you despair? Do you feel your resolve weakened?

Engrave this feeling in your heart. The same goes for the two of you girls too. I let you keep your consciousness so you can hear my words.

This display of power is not even up to half of what I possess, and there are beings out there in the cosmos, far more powerful than I am and can ever hope to be.

If you are to venture out into the greater cosmos in the future, you must steel your hearts and not be taken by fear every time you encounter such a situation, do not be consumed by despair.

So engrave this feeling of fear and despair in your heart, so that you would not be defeated by it and rendered useless by it ever again.

See this current me as a goal to strive towards, a goal to reach, and a goal...to surpass.|

The moment he was done speaking, he clenched his fist and darkness divinity swirled around it, opening it, three crystals filled with divinity could be seen inside.

He tossed the crystals to Arthur and spoke.

|Each of those crystals lets you use my Authority as the king of the underworld and a god of darkness once.

Use them wisely.|

Darkness then wrapped around his body and he returned to normal, looking up to the sky, he spoke to Aurora.

"Take care of them for me, I have something to deal with, a pest is buzzing around."

Aurora nodded in affirmation and descended as Hades was about to walk away when he was stopped by a thin, barely audible voice.

He turned around and saw Arthur forcefully moving his body like a puppet with cosmic energy, he then looked towards Hades and asked.

"D-dad, let-t’s leav-e the rest of the cosmo-s, in j-just Olymp-pus, wh-o is, is it?"

"Who is what?"

"S-stron-gest." 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Hearing Arthur’s question caused Hades to remember scenes from the war with his brothers against the titans and giants nearly two hundred thousand years ago.

He remembered that appearance, the appearance of that woman with a ridiculously sized physical body, pure white hair and skin without a single blemish. He remembered her upturned silver eyes that always glittered with a dangerous light.

She always performed nonsensical feats like grabbing galaxies with her bare hands and throwing them at Hades, his brothers and their armies.

Whenever she waved her hands, planets exploded and titans emerged from within.

Whenever she touched the earth, giants formed from the sands.

She was someone he could not forget even if he wanted to.

Even now, he still remembers the day she fell, the moment that silver light in her eyes went out.

Even though she was supposedly sealed, he didn’t trust the seal one bit.

Her recent reaction was also more than enough to put him on edge.

Although many claimed the man who was her husband was more powerful, Hades understood that the reality was different.

He understood it even more so after becoming a sub-cosmic being. Because he could tell, she was not like his father Kronos.

She was a much more dangerous existence to Olympus.

A genuine cosmic being.

Hades and his brothers barely defeated their father Kronos, who was sub-cosmic. How was it that they were then able to defeat his mother who was a genuine cosmic being?

He had brought up this issue to his brothers many times but they refused to listen to him.

Nevertheless, it did not mean that his vigilance had dropped, in fact, it had even increased in recent years.

For Hades, the strongest existence in Olympus was none other than her.

"Primordial goddess of the Earth and Creation."
