Chapter 149: The demigod Necromancer III [REWRITTEN Chapter]

’Dominate, Reverse.’

With those two commands, Nicole’s AquaGenesis took control of the Undead Mage’s spells and sent them back at it, prompting it to hastily create barriers to block the barrage.

Sadly, those didn’t really do much as the spears shattered the barriers with relative ease, which then forced it to attempt to fly out of their trajectory, something it achieved at the cost of losing its both legs.

As the two girls handled their opponents, Arthur engaged the demigod in close combat, their swords gleaming with black and silver divinity.

The demigod wasn’t as skilled with a sword as Arthur was, and the only reason he had not lost instantly was simply because he had more than one weapon.

Taking advantage of that, he released an upward arcing slash that relied mostly on his physical strength and pushed Arthur slightly off balance, simultaneously sending a downward slash aiming at the boy’s neck.

"First of Sword: Crescent Moon."

A curved slash of white aura, tinged with lightning tore through the air, colliding with the demigod’s slash and knocking the sword off trajectory.

Seeing this, Arthur let out a small grin as he redirected his time law energy, changing the command from ’Stopping the demigod’ to ’Accelerating his movement’.

With that, he regained his balance and spun around, delivering a roundhouse kick to the demigod’s head and sending him flying through the air.

"So, this is what you guys have been up to..."

"Sup, Ed."

Arthur greeted his friend who had joined the battle with a smile on his face, fist bumping with him before continuing.

"You’ve missed quite a lot."

"A bit too much, considering it’s only been just a week.

Just one week and you’ve gotten yourself embroiled in something strange."

Edward’s words seemed to offend Arthur a bit as they made it sound like it was his fault they ended up dealing with strange stuff.

"Why’d you think I’m the reason?! It could be Layla or Nicole!"

"Come on bro, Layla’s your ’stopper’; the one who prevents you from getting into strange situations. As for Nicole...is that even possible?"

Arthur could not help but agree with Edward, especially his point about Nicole.

Their little conversation was cut short when six flying slashes hurtled towards them, but all it took Arthur was a glance to the side and the projectiles were frozen mid-air.

"...You can do that?"

Arthur’s arm blurred and the six time-stopped slashes of dark divinity were destroyed in mid-air. It was after this, that he answered Edward’s surprised question.

"I always could."

Seeing that Edward got the second meaning to his reply, Arthur chuckled before patting him on the shoulder and giving him a very brief rundown of the current situation.

"Now then, let’s end this, shall we?"

Edward nodded in reply as he blocked the third wave of dark magic projectiles that barrelled towards him with sonic speed.

Standing side by side, he and Arthur flared their white aura and silver divinity, their blades pointed towards the demigod.

Since they planned to end things, Arthur pulled out the ’big gun’.

"Authority of the Progenitor Godslayer."

A small domain opened up around Arthur, the wave of energy sweeping through the area and everything with divinity within it lost had its overall power drop by a huge margin. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

From the undead minions trooping out of the caves in the Hill to the demigod who controlled them all with his divinity.

Looking right at Arthur, he screamed out.

"What did you do?!"

"Nothing much, just a little something."

Arthur gave that cryptic reply as he and Edward kicked off the ground, blitzing forward as streaks of white and silver lights crackling with tendrils of lightning that torched everything in their paths.

Roaring in rage, the demigod coated his swords in magic power and charged at them.

Their initial clash caused the groan beneath their feet to crater, on the brink of shattering and making them fall down to the cave below.

But they didn’t remain in that spot long enough for this to happen.

The three of them moved down the hill and onto the water-logged meadows as they clashed, releasing strikes that shattered the ground around them and left massive craters in the earth.

Arthur used trackless step to deceive the demigod’s senses, flashing in right beside him and with a pillar of silver light surging from his sword, he blasted the demigod into the air.

Edward raised his sword, imbued with white lightning, above his head, and as he did, a shimmering magic circle materialized, hovering above him and absorbing the raw energy emanating from the sword.

"Paladin’s Judgement."

Another magic circle manifested above the demigod’s body, and the condensed lightning was released as a single, blinding bolt. It streaked toward him, descending at a speed beyond human perception.

The lightning strike connected with the chest area of the demigod’s Death Knight body with devastating force, and with an explosive impact, it bored a searing hole in the undead’s chest.

The demigod convulsed in agony, his undead body recoiling a vile black liquid spewing from the wound.

The sheer force of the strike sent the demigod hurling towards the ground, crashing with an earth-shattering impact. The impact was so intense that his body rebounded, and propelled back into the air.

Arthur flashed beside him, spinning around in a whirlwind of motion to generate momentum before delivering a roundhouse kick that knocked the demigod towards the hill.

**BOOOMMMM!!!

The poor demigod crashed down on the ground in front of the hill, and an earth-shattering impact resonated through the landscape with enough intensity to crater the ground.

"Hazy Style."

Edward took a stance with his longsword pointed towards the sky, and in the next instant, both his body and presence disappeared, with only a small cloud of dust being left behind where he was standing a second ago.

"Rumbling of Earth!"

The full-powered downward arcing slash he released as he reappeared right above the demigod, cleaving through the Death Knight as if it was made of fragile glass. The shockwave of the strike propagated through the undead’s form, tearing it asunder and forcefully expelling the demigod from it.

His real body recondensed a few metres away, with dark golden blood dripping down his lips as he glared at the other two teenagers with hatred.

His power as a Superior Stage grandmaster was inaccessible, and his wounds could not heal even after he used his divinity.

Everything he did with his divinity seemed to be half as effective as before. He could not even summon any more undead, and could only watch as the ones he had summoned at the start of the battle were routed.

He stomped his foot on the ground and using pure magic power, he summoned a giant mish-mashed blob-like monstrosity of flesh that pulled up a disgusted expression on Arthur’s face.

"Nuh-uh. Spiral Flames."

The swirling mass of fire that emerged from Arthur’s outstretched palm went on to torch the blob of flesh and with the effect of his progenitor authority, the construct that was held together by the demigod’s divinity was engulfed in flames and reduced to ashes very quickly.

"Tsk! Transference!"

Arthur did not know which undead the demigod was trying to enter this time, but he wasn’t gonna let him succeed.

He clenched his fist and concentrated the power of his authority on the black mist the demigod’s body turned into, but before he could do anything, the demigod’s body was suddenly forced back to his physical state.

When he turned around to see why, he was met with the sight of Nicole piercing her Bullet Lance through the chest of a Death Knight that was on the ground near one of the Hill’s crumbled cave entrances.

The undead’s body twitched multiple times before turning completely still.

"YOU!!

With a shout of rage, he unleashed a beam of condensed divinity towards Nicole, whilst also summoning shadowy tendrils of divinity from the ground that latched onto her legs and prevented her from flying away as fast as she wanted to.

Although she had a layer of ether protecting her from direct contact with the divinity, it did not change the fact that her movements were delayed by a few seconds.

These few seconds would have been enough time for the attack to reach her, but instead of getting hit by a beam of divinity, she suddenly saw herself up in the air, looking down at the beam that crashed onto the ground where she was a second ago.

"...huh?"

The ether shield of water she had created dispersed back into energy, as she turned her head to the side to see Arthur’s face right next to hers.

"You okay?"

"...mhmm."

She only nodded in response, after which the boy proceeded to blitz over to where Layla was and drop her beside the other pureblood devil.

"I’d leave her to you."

As he spoke, a stream of red energy that gave Layla and Nicole chills swirled around his arm, flowing into his sword. Simultaneously, a blue stream of temporal energy moved in that same fashion, and the two energies coalesced in the Semi-Transparent blade.

Seeing this, Layla recognized it as the same attack he used to finish off Zach Pearce in their second year.

Arthur kicked off the ground and blitzed towards Edward who was giving the demigod a beating, calling out to the boy who got the hint and raised his blade into the air.

"Paladin’s Judgement!"

The bolt of lightning descended from above, right atop the demigod’s head, but he rose his palms to the sky and blocked it with a hastily made barrier of divinity.

But in doing this, the demigod was now defenceless against Arthur, who dashed in with time-accelerated movements and thrust his sword forward.

"Extreme Nothingness."

The torrent of light unleashed from his sword swallowed the demigod, exploding right after with a bright flash of light.

When the light died down, there was a giant hole in the ground, roughly about a hundred metres in width and a bit less in depth.

As for the demigod who once stood there, he was vaporized with not even an atom left.

Unsummoning Celestia, Arthur shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly, like he didn’t just easily end a Superior Grandmaster and spoke.

"Well, that’s a wrap."

Approaching Edward, he extended his right hand in a gesture that Edward mirrored, resulting in a friendly high-five between them beneath the setting sun.

◇ ◇ ◇

Five days later, the quartet’s trip to Onerth finally came to an end, and it was now time for them to return to Kriez.

Edward had some of his father’s subordinates handle the aftermath of the issue on Ugantu, while he spent the rest of the little holiday enjoying the things he had missed out on due to his elder brother’s little spartan training regime.

Unfortunately, that time quickly came to an end, and he now found himself watching the usual banter between his father who wanted him to stay back longer and his mother who dragged the man back into his palace to deal with his official duties.

As for the Crown Prince, he simply patted Edward’s head and told him to keep up the good work, before following after his parents.

While Edward was bidding his other siblings goodbye, Nicole who was already in the starship was looking at the star map of their path back to Kriez.

"Oh...it’s not there anymore."

Arthur who was beside her, peeked at her phone screen and noticed the Black hole alert he saw the last time wasn’t there anymore.

"Seems Ed’s dad handled it."

Right after he spoke, Edward entered the room and was approached by Layla who wanted to ask about something, but the human boy didn’t have the energy to handle her questions at the time.

"I have been up for the past 36 hours running four months’ worth of game grinds...I don’t think I can give you a proper answer until I’ve slept for at least that long."

After that, he moved to his room and shut the door behind him, a scene that made Arthur chuckle lightly.

However, our resident progenitor’s state wasn’t too different, as he had accompanied Edward on those game grinds, so he was tired, more mentally, than physically.

The boy yawned right after he spoke, leaning on Nicole’s shoulder before dozing off seconds later.

When she noticed his even breaths, Nicole silently moved his head to her lap, before carrying on with what she was doing on her phone.

Layla turned in her direction and after seeing this scene, sighed before returning to her own room while muttering about how she needed something to keep herself busy with.

As she shut the door behind her, an announcement rang out in the ship’s intercom.

[All passengers and crewmen, please be seated. The Ship is about to make the Space Jump]
