As the man in the yellow shirt released his grip on the pregnant woman and dashed for those running, Black lowered his head in the car and slowly removed his foot from the accelerator.
As soon as he raised his head and stepped on the accelerator, the pregnant woman also jolted up with a new, gifted strength. Blood dripped out of her eyes, mouth, nose, and ears while the veins on her skin glowed with a green light. She snarled and began sniffing the air before taking slow steps toward the slow-moving vehicle.
"Keep your head down!" Black said in a low but firm voice when Kai lifted his head and shifted his gaze toward the reborn pregnant woman.
The low voice ignited the woman and caused her to rampage at the vehicle. She stopped when she saw her own reflection looking back at her, but as soon as a blue and a red eye appeared inside, she snarled then began hitting the glass with her own head.
"Why don't we go out there and fight them off so we get a smooth way out of here?" Jinx asked as she slowly lifted her gaze and shifted it to the window which was getting slammed every passing second.
"Just stay down; you're not in a good state to fight them," Black said as he placed a hand on Jinx's shoulder then slowly made her lower her gaze.
After five minutes, a metal clicking sound echoed from the left side of the BMW and caught the attention of the pregnant zombie. From the door of a drinking bar, a drunk young guy exited and began throwing empty containers at the car. "Hey, back off!"
He walked sluggishly to the vehicle and peered into the tinted glass. "Mm, I'm not that bad." He licked the windowsill then shifted his gaze to the pregnant zombie that was nearing him.
"Hey girl, want a ride?" he asked as he licked his lips then pointed one arm at the woman and one at the BMW. The moment the woman snarled and stretched her arms forward, the guy pulled out a bottle of whisky then stretched it forward. "Take it; it can help satisfy your hunger."
The pregnant woman slapped the glass bottle from the guy's grip and hurled him to the floor.
"Hey," the drunk guy said while the lady began ripping his skin apart. "Take your time; I'm all yours, my lady."
Black raised his head slightly then stepped on the accelerator. "Don't raise your head unless I say so." He drove slowly from the feast and moved past countless feasts which were taking place ahead of them.
As soon as the BMW moved past a red bookshop, a tanker appeared from nowhere and slammed into it. The impact sent the BMW's front into the shop.
"FUCK!" Black screamed then slammed his palm on the steering wheel. When the tanker drove off, Black tried driving the BMW out of the shop, but its side mirrors locked onto iron pillars and caused it to send sharp sounds into the air. Countless feasts stopped when the sound reached a few hundred zombies and directed them toward the red shop.
Black's face went pale when he looked at the rearview mirror and back at Jinx's face. He took a deep breath then gripped the steering wheel hard.
"Brace yourselves," he said as he changed gears and used brute force to set the BMW free. As soon as it moved back to the road, the BMW whirled in a 360-degree angle. The momentum it carried hurled countless zombies to the ground and rolled over them when its front turned toward the south where the road seemed to be empty.
"Let's see how fast you can go," he said as he set the speed limit to full then drove toward two zombies that had attached their faces to the glass. He punched a blow into one's head then slammed his elbow at another's forehead.
In the back seat, Kai gave the one that had half of its body inside countless upper kicks then pushed it outside. "Get off, get off, get off!" he screamed then pushed the creature out of the glass and onto the street. The skin on the zombie peeled off as it bounced and rolled on the ground for a couple of minutes before finally stopping, only to get smashed by a black Jeep.
Jinx looked at Black then laughed when they reached a land of thick, tall trees. "I love you."
Black didn't even look at her; he simply swerved the car and avoided slamming them into a raised bar that had crossed into the middle of the road. "Just shut up and hold on."
The moment the BMW came back to the lane, the Jeep crashed into the pillar and deformed into a tiny, crouched box with sharp edges.
…
Big firearms rained on the zombies and the Wingreapers while Wang leaned against the reinforced building. He watched the soldiers helping the civilians and the weak soldiers out.
"Hey," he called out to a lady with brown hair the moment the soldiers helped her out. "Come here."
Elina walked slowly toward Wang then lowered her head and pulled the top of her hood to cover her face.
"Remove that from your face; I have already seen who you are," he said and slammed the lady's hand down. "Did you think you could run out of my sight in this place?"
Elina's eyes lowered when she saw the rage in Wang's eyes.
"All of Central City is in my palms. If you don't know that, now you know." He hauled her by the hair and began pulling her along toward the instructor's building while everyone watched him in plain sight.
Nally rushed forward and pushed the soldiers holding Merlin's side while he bled. She hoisted him on her back. "I'm sorry, sir," she said as she ran toward the medical bay of the barracks despite the number of zombies that were ahead of them.
