Chapter 82: Chapter 82

"I knew it. Coincidences like that don’t happen."

"They released a Witch Beast to bite Caspar’s granddaughter on purpose."

"Neal and Grant set this trap decades ago."

Save Caspar’s granddaughter, and you can conquer and win over Caspar.

In Six Paths Form Diagram mode, the Heavenly Dao Demonic Form can devour Witch Poison.

The Human Demonic Form has formidable healing power, its potency scales with Conversion Degree, it can regenerate severed limbs and shattered bones, and reconstruct a body from a single drop of essence blood, use this as your breakthrough point.

"Heaven and earth without bounds. The pestle imprisons all demons."

Caspar’s hand seals shifted fast, the Demon-Subduing Pestle poured out golden light.

The next second, the golden specks blanketing ten thousand miles began to contract. Faster and faster, denser and denser, tens of trillions of fireflies swarming toward Soren with a deafening roar.

Gold swallowed the sky, a perfect sphere took shape around him.

The smaller the prison shrank, the more solid it became.

From over a hundred thousand meters it dropped to ten thousand, then a thousand, and settled at roughly a dozen across.

Its density had multiplied over and over, so its grip on Soren’s demonic energy grew far heavier, he didn’t panic in the least.

This divine power was impure, only the residual fraction stored inside the pestle. Caspar couldn’t generate any himself, he could only draw out what remained.

If Soren wanted out, it would cost him nothing.

The Heavenly Dao Demonic Form could absorb the whole lot and convert it into demonic energy.

But he’d decided to use the moment for something else, a psychological blow to Caspar, and a test of Lysara.

With a sharp buzz the sphere locked into place, the pestle hovering above it, whistling.

Soren looked around his cell, contempt aside, he suddenly caught a theatrical spirit and let out a loud cry of alarm, shouting that this was bad.

The single cry pulled triumphant smirks onto Neal and the human cultivators.

Only the man to Neal’s right felt something was off.

That Soren could kill Upper-Tier Demon Emperors was established fact, even against an Upper-Tier Human Emperor with a divine artifact, he shouldn’t have been trapped this easily.

If he really was trapped, it contradicted every rumor of his prowess.

The man thought it over in silence, then shook his head, maybe he was overthinking it.

Soren’s conquest of the Endless Demonic Domain and his killing of the Alliance’s five Upper-Tier Demon Emperors might have been entirely down to his blood contract with that Middle-Tier Ancestor Realm Heaven-Robbing Black Dragon, his personal strength probably wasn’t that fearsome.

That was the whole reason he’d come in person.

To guard against the dragon, pity Soren didn’t bring it.

Once he confirmed Soren couldn’t turn this around, maybe he could negotiate with the Heaven-Robbing Black Dragon, recruit it for the Heavenly Demon Alliance.

The black-robed man hunched his shoulders slightly, a venomous glint crossing his eyes, then his gaze went back to Soren.

Behind him and Neal, mocking laughter and jeers from several thousand human cultivators rolled out.

"Hahaha! What dog-shit Demon Emperor is this?"

"I thought he was supposed to be some terrifying monster, scared myself half to death coming here."

"Turns out he’s nothing."

Neal shook his head, arrogance burning brighter.

The capture had gone far too smoothly, it hadn’t even needed him or his cultivators to lift a finger, Caspar had done it alone.

Neal’s voice carried flat across heaven and earth. "He’s young, after all, short on combat experience."

"I heard before all this, Soren was a spineless coward, wouldn’t even talk back or fight back when beaten and cursed."

"For a guy like that, did you really expect him to become a whole new person overnight?"

Laughter broke from the crowd.

Rushing wind echoed from the horizon, the cultivators drawn by the earlier commotion finally reached the scene and stared, half-dazed, at the spectacle.

What’s going on? The fight’s already over? Who’s trapped inside?

"Hey, that looks like Soren!"

"The legendary spineless coward?"

"Wait, didn’t I hear he conquered the Endless Demonic Domain?"

"That was obviously bragging."

"He definitely had powerful backers, if he really had that ability, he wouldn’t be trapped like a rat right now."

"Makes sense."

"Ever since I heard Emperor Grant was killed I was more grief-stricken than if my own father had died, thought the sky of our Moonveil Human Domain had fallen. And now Emperor Neal steps up to carry the banner, this is what a true hero looks like!"

"With control passing to him, and the Great Emperors behind him, we can finally rest easy."

"I’ve never seen this many Great Emperors in one place!"

"Kill the fiend!"

"Kill the fiend!"

"Kill the fiend!"

More cultivators poured in, and the chant swelled until it was deafening.

Neal fully intended to kill Soren, but he’d promised Caspar full authority over how Soren was disposed of, as long as Caspar acted personally.

If Caspar wanted to purge the murderous intent his own way, or even release him once purified, Neal couldn’t easily object.

He only wanted to confirm one thing, with Soren trapped in a cage that not even wings could carry him out of, what would Lysara choose?

Basil let out a long sigh, in the end he hadn’t been able to cut Lysara down, and given the situation, there was no longer any need, was there?

"Lysara, as your teacher, I believe everything you told me."

"But Soren can’t reverse the heavens now."

"The human race is your rightful home."

"Even knowing what kind of men Grant and Neal are, what can you actually do about it?"

"Listen to your master, pretend you know nothing, bow your head to Neal."

"He fancies you, he’ll find a way to spare you every punishment."

Lysara slowly turned her head, she looked at the trapped Soren, then she laughed, bitter.

"Master, I’m already his woman."

"You understand my character better than anyone, even if Soren dies today, I will never go against my conscience and grovel to Neal."

"If you won’t strike me down, won’t extract my Dao Soul... then I’ll guard him until I die at another’s hand."
