Chapter 1012: Chapter 504: 3rd Rings·Psionics

The operation went very smoothly.

The warehouse containing a large amount of supplies is an extremely important site for the Ebbtide Gang on Wildberry Cliff Island.

Aside from Hogan and his group, it was usually guarded by gang higher-ups who had attained professional levels.

Of course, considering that the Ebbtide Gang is just a medium-sized organization in Suo Yu Bay, those assigned to such duties aren’t high-level powers.

Two warriors, the most ordinary and common kind, both at just Level 1 in their profession.

They were accompanied by some little gangsters who handled miscellaneous chores.

In some ways, this was considered a leisure job.

After all, the warehouse was located in the core area of Wildberry Cliff, with sentry posts arranged around the island coast.

If someone could actually fight through the Ebbtide Gang’s forces from the shore to here, these two Level 1 professionals wouldn’t be of much help.

Perhaps for this reason, they were particularly relaxed.

When Hogan, following orders from the Iron Rock Shield members, walked alone from the bushes into the camp, one of the professionals was already fast asleep, while the other was indulged in alcohol, dancing with the gangsters around the campfire, not even knowing where his longsword was.

The fight ended quickly as well.

Having subtly understood the situation within the camp, Hogan was just having a drink poured by a few gangsters when Xia Nan and others infiltrated the camp.

As Wanderer A Gu’s dagger stabbed into the neck of the warrior enjoying his sweet dreams, Ranger Seli’s wooden arrow whistled through the air, piercing the temple of the drunken warrior by the bonfire.

Both professionals died instantly.

The remaining scattered underlings also became nothing more than the end of the crossbow.

In just a few minutes, the once lively warehouse camp turned into dead silence.

The flickering firelight illuminated the scattered corpses on the ground, and the air was filled with a strong smell of blood.

"Glug glug..."

A large throat bobbed up and down as crystal clear liquor dripped from the corner of the mouth, soaking the front of the shirt.

Howl, the half-orc, held a barrel of liquor in both hands, drinking greedily, swallowing more than half in one go.

"Refreshing!"

With an animal-like growl from his throat, he tossed the barrel onto the ground and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, feeling pleased.

"Captain, you sure you don’t want a few drinks?"

Upon hearing this, the dwarf Habi couldn’t help but swallow.

As a pure-blooded hill dwarf, he naturally couldn’t be without these intoxicatingly wonderful drinks in daily life.

But considering they were still on a mission and he was the captain, indulging wasn’t suitable, and he had to forcefully restrain his desire.

With a stern face, he waved to the half-orc.

"The mission is vital, just take a sip and don’t indulge too much."

"Once we return, clearing out the tavern’s stock is fine."

Knowing each other well after many years of cooperation, Howl was aware of the current priorities.

Merely licking his lips while eyeing the barrel on the ground, he didn’t drink more.

"They’re all broke, nothing worthwhile."

Cleaning the battlefield was mundane for seasoned adventurers like them.

Less than five minutes after the last gangster died, Seli and A Gu had completed their cleanup.

One held two longswords while the other carried a somewhat deflated money pouch.

"The weapons of these professionals are ordinary goods from Suo Yu Bay’s blacksmith shop, not worth much."

"They didn’t have much money on them either; searching the whole camp barely revealed any Gold Coins."

It was to be expected.

On one hand, when a professional chooses to retire from the "adventurer" profession and become a gang member or a pirate, it signifies saying goodbye to their high income, choosing a relatively stable life.

On the other hand, this was just a temporary camp, not the Ebbtide Gang’s base. Regular shift changes meant no one would bring all their personal wealth with them to work.

However, no matter how little the harvest, the income should be shared among all mission participants, requiring negotiation for distribution.

Yet the Iron Rock Shield Team didn’t seem interested in dividing the loot.

Standing slightly apart, Xia Nan subconsciously furrowed his brow, feeling an instinctive aversion.

He had resolved to have a "talk" with them after the mission ended.

Even if it was just one copper coin, the share he deserved couldn’t be missing.

"Let’s go, don’t waste time."

"Check if the goods in the warehouse are the ones we’re looking for. If they are, we can move them and quickly evacuate."

Seeing that his teammates had cleaned up the belongings on-site, Team Captain Habi commanded.

Having learned that the Ebbtide Gang had connections with the Sha Hua Fishman, he clearly didn’t want to get involved in these troublesome matters, and the destruction of the minor gangsters along with the two professionals earlier met Aurie’s mission requirement of "teaching the Ebbtide Gang and pirates a lesson."

He just wanted to quickly grab the stuff and leave.

...

The temporary warehouse built by the Ebbtide Gang on Wildberry Cliff was quite spacious, estimated to be half the size of a soccer field.

Of course, most of the contents were everyday supplies; it was impossible to find Enchanted Equipment or similar items here.
