Lin Ye entered the elevator lobby once again. He first took a certain dosage of orange-red powder before stepping into Elevator Number Two.

The elevator descended. This time, it took forty minutes before the elevator began to slow down.

Lin Ye held his rifle and leaned against one side of the elevator door. He had no idea what the situation was on this floor. Even if there were several automatic machine guns set up outside, he wouldn't have been surprised.

After the elevator stopped steadily, the doors opened automatically. Lin Ye glanced sideways from the edge and only saw a portion of a metal corridor.

"Please leave your weapon inside the elevator before entering the floor. Otherwise, you will trigger the floor's automatic protection system."

A young woman's voice rang out in the elevator, but Lin Ye couldn't find the source.

After thinking for half a second, Lin Ye put down his weapon and stepped out of the elevator.

He was just a D-Class personnel here to scout the path. There was absolutely no need to hide.

Outside the elevator was a metal corridor. At the end of the corridor was a very spacious area.

It included not only a laboratory that looked extremely high-tech, but also a tastefully decorated reception room and a restaurant.

These places were completely empty, with only some instruments still running.

Lin Ye walked straight toward the office at the far end. The office door was slightly ajar, and inside were many oddly shaped decorations.

Knock knock.

Lin Ye knocked on the door. The sound echoed through the quiet corridor.

"Come in."

A woman's voice came from inside the room, the same one as before.

Lin Ye pulled open the door, weaved around the strange decorations, and walked over to the desk.

The other person was sitting in a high-backed swivel chair behind the desk. Since the chair back was too tall, Lin Ye couldn't see the top of her head.

"Please, have a seat."

The swivel chair turned halfway around. A young woman with a black ponytail, wearing a white researcher's uniform, smiled and greeted Lin Ye.

"Are you the researcher here?"

Lin Ye sat down in the chair, his obese body sinking into the soft seat.

"I am the person in charge here. You may call me... Lady A. Coincidentally, my authority level in the organization is also A-grade, Mr. D."

Lady A took a glass cup from a cabinet beside her, then picked up a black kettle and poured Lin Ye a cup of pure black liquid.

"As you can see, I'm just a D-Class personnel sent down to scout. What should I do next, Lady A?"

Lin Ye smelled the aroma of coffee—and it was likely some kind of high-end coffee.

"A D-Class personnel couldn't have gotten a dose of clarity solvent in such a short time, nor could they have determined the correct dosage. To be honest, I was shocked when I saw you take the right dose without hesitation. Even if you don't meet my aesthetic standards, I could still offer you a chance to invite me on a date."

Lady A said with a smile.

"I've always been lucky."

Lin Ye replied with a smile as well.

"No, Mr. Gro's luck has never been good. He grew up in an environment full of violence and bloodshed. His stepfather was a butcher who loved eating raw meat. His mother was a prostitute who didn't care about her children at all. He had seven siblings. All of this taught him from a young age to solve problems with violence. Am I right?"

Lady A leaned back in her chair and locked eyes with Lin Ye.

"...My stepfather didn't eat raw meat. My mother occasionally made me food. I didn't have seven siblings. I do like solving problems with violence, but I also have a side you don't know about. I love life, and I love my mother. I want to survive."

Lin Ye replied in a very calm tone.

"You have Gro's memories? We always thought you didn't have your host's memories, which was why you were unwilling to communicate with the organization."

Lady A looked at Lin Ye with curiosity, as if observing some rare specimen.

"I don't know what you're talking about. Can you tell me what to do next?"

Lin Ye didn't want to have too much contact with someone this high up in the organization. If possible, he would even consume a Simulation Attempt just to erase this conversation.

"You're afraid of leaking information to the organization? That's wise. Before this, several A-grade personnel have proposed plans to capture you by artificially creating abnormal incidents, but those plans all failed. You only seem to appear at naturally occurring abnormal incident sites."

Lady A showed no intention of hiding anything. She seemed not to care about Lin Ye's thoughts at all.

"So you want to try capturing me first, then deal with the abnormal incident here?"

Lin Ye's right hand clenched slightly. If her answer didn't satisfy him, he would solve the problem in the way Gro was best at.

"No. You're just a minor issue. The trouble here is far bigger than you... And how do you know that your appearance here wasn't part of the organization's plan?"

Lady A poured herself a cup of coffee, picked it up, and took a sip.

"Then just follow the plan."

Lin Ye didn't touch the coffee. He didn't like bitter things.

Even adding sugar would only make the bitterness of the coffee more pronounced.

"What a pity. I really wanted to be friends with you."

Lady A took an experiment report from a drawer beside her and slid it across the desk to Lin Ye.

"Only those on equal footing can be friends. If you treat me as an experiment subject, I can only treat you as a faceless female passerby."

Lin Ye opened the experiment report and began to examine the information inside.

This was the research report for [Project Number 11].

It took Lin Ye ten minutes to read through all the information in the experiment report.

So-called research projects were the anomalous phenomena discovered by the organization. Each research project had a fixed number, and what followed was the 11th research project.

This underwater facility was built specifically for researching Project 11.

"You mean there's a deity sleeping beneath this facility?"

Lin Ye looked at Lady A with a strange expression.

"I don't know if it's a deity, but it can certainly do many things that transcend common human knowledge."

Lady A observed Lin Ye's expression changes, trying to gather information about him through this method.

"Many anomalous phenomena can do things beyond common human knowledge. If you gave me some spiritual energy, I could do similar things. Does that make me a deity too?"

A somewhat sarcastic smile appeared on Lin Ye's fat face.

"You're right. But we call it a deity for a reason. That reason isn't recorded in the research report... It can change the nature of surrounding objects by altering its own state."

Lady A explained with some seriousness.

"Hmm... Is this something hard to understand?"

Lin Ye didn't grasp what she was trying to say.

"It can turn seawater into soil, turn gold into spiritual energy, and turn humans into deep-sea creatures."

Lady A switched to a more colloquial explanation.
