Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Information Analysis Group
Looking at the high risk rating of 9.55%, Ye Yun’s brow furrowed slightly.
If he remembered correctly, he had already performed a risk assessment for a 12-hour exploration after obtaining the weapons.
The risk rating at the time was 10.109%.
And now, even after equipping both No. 1 and No. 2 with white-grade armor, the risk rating had only dropped by a meager 0.5%.
This stubbornly high risk rating was indirect proof that if the exploration time were extended to twelve hours, No. 1 and No. 2 would get dangerously close to the enemy’s nest.
And the armor and weapons they currently had would likely not be of much use.
Ye Yun looked at the stubbornly high risk rating. Although he was deeply worried, he quickly composed himself.
With his current abilities, worrying wouldn’t change a thing.
The only thing he could do now was accumulate resources and increase his strength as quickly as possible.
He once again scheduled an 8-hour exploration for No. 1 and No. 2.
Then, Ye Yun began to quietly wait for everyone’s replies.
Soon, four hours passed, and another 96 Simple Communication Bracelets (White) were freshly crafted.
He followed his previous procedure, listing the communication bracelets on the Trading House and then establishing the "Information Gathering and Analysis Group No. 2."
His reason for separating the two groups was very simple.
With fewer people, members would develop a greater sense of belonging and solidarity.
This would be more conducive to gathering and organizing information.
After announcing some relevant information, Ye Yun closed the chat room for Group No. 2.
Four hours later, other managers in Chat Room No. 1 began to trickle in with the information they had gathered.
[Whoa, my bionic encountered a mutated cockroach too!]
[I finally know how my bionic got injured! It must have been a mutated cockroach!]
[Mutated cockroaches over here, too!]
[Damn, so everyone’s running into mutated cockroaches?]
[Don’t tell me all our shelters were built next to a cockroach nest?]
[Is it possible that cockroaches are just naturally tough, and their numbers exploded after mutating from the radiation, so now they’re everywhere? It’s not that our shelters are all near nests.]
[The guy above makes a lot of sense!]
[So, is the disaster in 10 days going to be a mutated cockroach outbreak?]
[That seems really likely. My bionic got attacked by a mutated cockroach just three hours into its exploration.]
[No way! If the cockroaches really attack the shelters, aren’t we all screwed?]
[The shelter doesn’t have any defensive weapons, but it looks pretty solid. It should be able to withstand their attacks, right?]
[Does anyone have weapons for sale? I’ll pay a high price!]
[Hey, hey, me too!]
...
Reading everyone’s messages, Ye Yun grew pensive.
’So everyone is running into mutated cockroaches?’
Combined with what the aliens said about the shelters facing a new danger every ten days...
The danger in a few days was very likely related to these mutated cockroaches.
As for the exact nature of the danger, Ye Yun couldn’t be sure.
’Will the number of mutated cockroaches suddenly skyrocket, making it extremely dangerous to go outside?’
’Or will massive swarms of them attack the shelters directly?’
’Or maybe an extremely powerful individual mutated cockroach will appear?’
He had too little data to work with. These theories were the most he could deduce; any further speculation would be pure guesswork.
For now, it seemed his strategy of distributing the communication bracelets and forming independent groups for information gathering was the right move, one he should continue to pursue.
A few hours later, No. 1 and No. 2 returned safely to the shelter once again.
After glancing at the bionics’ durability, Ye Yun nodded in satisfaction. Both of their durabilities had only decreased by 0.8%.
Although the Leather Baseball Uniform (White) only provided 3-4 points of defense, it seemed to be enough to handle the ordinary mutated cockroaches for now.
If the danger in a few days was indeed related to a mutated cockroach attack, then appropriate weapons and armor would become extremely important.
Blue and green-grade weapons and armor would certainly be more effective, but even Ye Yun couldn’t afford equipment of that level, let alone the other ordinary managers.
Ye Yun immediately typed in the public channel:
["Looking to buy blueprints for white-grade armor or weapons. PM me if you have any. Spammers will be blocked instantly. Thanks."]
After he had blocked a few people before, everyone knew Ye Yun wasn’t joking.
Furthermore, after Ye Yun’s few appearances in the chat room, people had begun to take him more and more seriously.
At first, people had called him a "big shot," but it was mostly just empty flattery and teasing.
However, after he continuously sold large quantities of filters, protein synthesizers, and later, communication bracelets on the Trading House, people’s attitudes toward him began to change significantly.
Even if some people didn’t believe Ye Yun was a "big shot," they had to admit that he definitely had some unique skills when it came to producing items.
Accepting all the friend requests, Ye Yun began to go through them one by one.
[Brother Ye, I’m sincerely asking for two communication bracelets. I’m willing to pay a high price.]
[Brother Ye, I don’t have a blueprint, but I have a white-grade weapon. Want it? Damaged Baseball Bat (White).]
[Brother Ye, I heard you started two private groups. Can you add me to one?]
[I just got this Damaged BB Gun (White) Crafting Blueprint. Flat price of 500 white parts. Non-negotiable. If you want it, let’s trade directly. If not, I’ll list it on the Trading House.]
...
Damaged BB Gun (White) Crafting Blueprint
[Description: The crafting blueprint for a Damaged BB Gun (White). Can be used with the corresponding basic parts to craft a Damaged BB Gun (White).]
A price of 500 white parts was indeed very high—outrageously so, even.
However, this was a gun, a ranged weapon. Even though it was just a BB gun, its power probably wouldn’t be too great.
But no matter how he looked at it, it had to be better than a melee weapon.
Of course, the most important thing was that it only required white parts to produce. Mass-producing it would be far less difficult than a green-grade weapon.
He glanced at his warehouse inventory. Although he hadn’t intended to make much of a profit from the Simple Communication Bracelets, he had sold nearly 200 of them. Even if he only made a small service fee of two white parts per bracelet, that still amounted to nearly 400 white parts in income.
Ye Yun quickly scanned the rest of the messages. Confirming that no one else had a white-grade weapon blueprint, he no longer hesitated.
He sent a trade request directly to the seller.
