Chapter 711: Chapter 67: Epilogue
Su Changxing looked at Qu Ping’s appearance, smiled slightly, and calmly said, "Next, if we kill all the other people, the game should be over, right."
Killing with a plague is more indifferent than killing with firearms, it’s like only seeing the numbers change; such changes in numbers don’t have much impact on a person.
Qu Ping hesitated for a moment and said, "The red light zone is still quite large now, finding the others won’t be easy. If we want to end it, I’m afraid we have to wait for the next phase."
Many of the contestants aren’t extremely powerful, but at least they possess advanced hiding techniques, making it not easy to find them.
Su Changxing also understood this point, nodded, and said, "That’s true, but we don’t need to be that troublesome."
The remaining contestants have all been infected by his plague, and he can perceive the locations of these players through the plague, so there is no question of finding them or not.
Unless someone can remove the plague from themselves and then hide.
However, the plague spread from Su Changxing is completely different from a regular plague, it’s like a bug; perhaps even a higher-tier Extraordinary would find it hard to eliminate if infected.
The Saintess thought for a moment and said, "Actually, we could just stay here until the game ends; after all, you have so many points, others gain nothing substantial."
Su Changxing sat Zen-like with one hand on his chest, displaying an identical demeanor to the Buddha Son, calmly and resonantly saying, "Amitabha, it’s also unfair to others."
The Saintess was taken aback, seeing Su Changxing’s demeanor and manner of speaking identical to the Buddha Son: "Hah, what’s wrong with you?"
Su Changxing suddenly reverted to his original demeanor, lowered his hand, smiled, and said, "Since we’re killing, let’s kill to the end."
Speaking words full of killing intent with a smiling tone, even the Saintess felt a chill in her heart.
Having killed so many people already, he didn’t care much about killing one or two more.
There’s a big difference between killing one person and two, but seemingly no difference between killing a thousand and a thousand and one.
He’s done so much to cover up the plague; if this thing were exposed, he might be attacked by all the players outside, becoming a target for everyone.
After all, people can’t tolerate someone who can easily trample and break rules, unless that person has absolute strength.
Clearly, he doesn’t have that absolute strength, but he possesses the ability to break rules, coming from the bug of the plague.
The Saintess didn’t say much more; in his view, Su Changxing’s actions weren’t governed by many principles, but more by following his heart.
Then, Su Changxing collected the items of the dead players in the camp one by one, throwing them into the Pocket Galaxy.
There were many good things, various offensive, life-saving, and auxiliary Mysterious Items, among which the most useful item was the Buddha Son’s Buddhist Beads, the Scattering Fragrance Buddhist Beads.
[Scattering Fragrance Buddhist Beads: Rank A Crown, Lower Rank, cultivate Buddha Nature, can significantly enhance abilities related to Buddha Nature, can stimulate a ray of Buddha light forming a protective barrier, the power of which depends on Buddha Nature.]
This thing seemed not very useful to Su Changxing, but just when the Buddha Son died, he stole an ability from the Buddha Son, "Ancient Buddha in the Heart," and part of the Buddha Nature.
After advancing to Tier Six, his Stealing Position increased by twelve, temporary Stealing Positions increased by four.
So when these people died just now, he picked and chose, stealing quite a few abilities.
From Carl’s body, he stole the Frost Storm, which contains an Ice Domain that can be used in conjunction with his other two Domains.
Su Changxing roughly wore the Buddhist Beads on his waist, leading the two along the top of the snowy mountain, leaving rows of footprints behind, gradually covered and then disappeared by the snow.
A man hiding in a snowdrift, wearing a white coat, completely blending in with the snow, gazed at the sky, noticing the red pillar of light moving towards him, precisely aligning with his position as if knowing he was there.
His heartbeat accelerated instantly, then slowed, remaining motionless just to prevent exposure.
Though he didn’t know who this first place with the red light pillar overhead was, the leaderboard revealed that not long ago, the first-place score suddenly surged a lot, evidently having killed many people at once.
Simultaneously.
Some people at the top of the leaderboard disappeared, and they likely died at the hands of this first place, seemingly in a siege, yet still being killed.
This is absolutely terrifying.
He’d rather lay motionless in the snow until he died than face that first person.
The red light stopped not far in front of him.
He saw three figures, one of whom glanced across his face without expression, then turned and left.
When he wanted to move again, he couldn’t, his body paralyzed, his mind gradually fading into darkness.
"Let’s go this way."
Su Changxing turned and walked in another direction, knowing that man would soon die under the plague’s erosion.
Qu Ping felt inexplicably strange and asked, "Did another person die?"
Su Changxing glanced at him and said, "Not just one, three—there’re two more hidden in the rock crevice on the left and the snow on the right."
At this stage, many contestants were hiding; some saw the red light pillar killing its way over.
The person was wrapped in white cloth, head and face covered, with a blue light pillar overhead, ranking high on the leaderboard.
He hadn’t found Su Changxing, but halfway through, was found by Gurulu, not weak but still no match, pinned down and pummeled.
Then, he barely escaped, only to be caught and bashed in the head with a club by Gurulu again, bones completely shattered, finally killed with one club after another.
After clearing away most of the remaining personnel, with less than a hundred left, the game automatically entered the final stage, with the red light barrier narrowing to a radius of only a few hundred meters.
The red light circle was so small that Su Changxing could let the plague hosted on them erupt within this range.
At the red light barrier’s edge, heaps of corpses lay, having just followed the barrier into the circle only to fall down due to paralysis, struggling and dying in decay.
Su Changxing simply stood at the circle’s center, watching them quietly, neither sad nor happy, as if this vast place were a purgatory.
The Saintess seeing this scene maintained a smiling expression, untouched, having seen such sights aplenty, even seen entire worlds’ people obliterated in droves.
Ultimately, humans are adaptive creatures; perhaps hard to accept at first, but after much seeing and experiencing, they adapt.
Qu Ping’s facial expression appeared numb; this is the result destined by the game, most will die, though seeing them all die together, visually impactful.
If it weren’t for Su Changxing, he would be among these people too.
Gurulu stood excitedly on a giant rock roaring, with his shoulder once bitten by a Demon now perfectly healed, "Gurulu! Kill!"
He was impressed by Su Changxing’s terrifying and powerful means.
In his view, the weak should submit to the strong; otherwise, only the dead end remains, mutual slaughter is normal.
The Saintess rubbed her humming ear and couldn’t help saying, "Can you not shout so loudly? It’s just a few people dead, what’s there to be excited about."
Gurulu looked over at the Saintess, roaring even louder, "Gurulu!"
The sound waves lifted the snow on the ground burying the Saintess entirely.
"Do you really think I’m afraid of you!" The Saintess crawled out of the snow, face dark, gritting her teeth and shouting.
"Gurulu!"
Gurulu roared again, lifting more snow burying the Saintess once more.
Seeing the Saintess embarrassingly crawling out from the snow seemed to hit his funny bone, he opened his mouth, exposing big yellow teeth, laughing heartily, "Hahaha!"
The Saintess clenched her fists, gritted her teeth, then took a deep breath, relaxed, shouted towards Su Changxing, "Aren’t you gonna do something about him?"
Su Changxing sat on the ground, gazing at the hazy sky, lazily saying, "It’s none of my business, huh? If you’re not convinced, go beat him up, if you can."
