Chapter 705: Chapter 61: The Barbarian’s Battle

As the battle progressed to this point, quite a few people had already fled from the camp. The pressure from this Demon was simply too overwhelming—if you weren’t careful, you’d die.

Better to die later than sooner.

Once one person ran, more followed, but no one was paying attention to them at this point.

Su Changxing didn’t run away, though. He wielded a sniper rifle, occasionally shooting while moving through the camp.

The monster changed its strategy, targeting the weaker people in the camp. Breaking free from the shackles of the blood-red thorns, it lunged at a man in a gray combat suit and bit off his upper body.

After devouring that person, its wounds began to visibly heal at a rapid pace.

Yet this also opened it up to more attacks, hundreds or thousands of them, assailing the Demon. Even with its nimble body, it could only dodge a few.

The Demon’s body was incredibly tough; most attacks hitting it felt like tickling, some unable to pierce its defense at all.

The Saintess was also more cautious, narrowly evading several charges by the Demon.

By this point in the battle, they were at a great disadvantage, nearing a rout.

Su Changxing remained composed, not going all out, except when he previously saved the Saintess, mostly coasting through.

However, the continuous attacks still exerted considerable pressure on the creature.

During this time, he used "True Knowledge" to analyze the Demon, gleaning only a few vague pieces of information.

"True Knowledge" seemed powerless against such an entity.

[Juvenile Demon: A type of rapidly growing Demon that sprouts from a tiny seed, often retaining some human characteristics...]

Was it transformed from a human?

Su Changxing thought of Zhu Wenwu, who transformed himself into a Blood Species, yet preserved his original consciousness and Spirit, thus classifying as Half-blood Species.

This person clearly turned himself entirely into a Demon, and this newborn Demon had little to do with that person anymore.

The analytical ability of "True Knowledge" seemed stretched thin for him now, unable to gather more intel about the Demon, like its combat style, weaknesses, or habits.

An explosive clash resounded, Carl was sent flying by the Demon, with a large bloody hole appearing in his abdomen.

Afraid the Demon would continue the chase, Carl clutched his abdomen and hurriedly retreated, erecting an ice barrier in front of him.

The Demon’s tongue trembled, opting not to pursue Kyle,

Knowing the opponent was on guard, going would be thankless, and instead, its eyes turned to Su Changxing, who was always in the mix.

Although Su Changxing’s attacks weren’t deadly to it, maintaining that frequency was immensely irritating.

Su Changxing widened his eyes, sensing the Demon’s gaze sweeping over him, feeling an overwhelming pressure.

This guy had targeted him!

Without thinking twice, he swiftly retreated, but the Juvenile Demon instantly appeared before him, raising its long sharp claws to attack.

The claws moved quickly, leaving a lingering shadow in the air.

His body transformed into scattering white feathers, reappearing at a spot behind a bonfire not far away.

However, this change of location held little value against this creature.

It locked onto Su Changxing within its range, no matter where he was, sensing him clearly.

This resembled a soul-level lock; the soul would resonate with the surrounding space, and the Juvenile Demon could detect and capture this resonance to find the target accurately.

This ability for them was as instinctive as breathing or drinking water, easily used with sufficient power.

Without any pause, the Juvenile Demon turned and charged towards the spot where Su Changxing reappeared the moment he disappeared, its swipe causing an explosion of air as it neared.

The onlookers, seeing this, felt Su Changxing was certainly doomed, as everyone targeted by the Demon, except for Buddha Son, couldn’t escape.

Moreover, this Demon liked to chase its target to death before shifting to the next one.

This time.

Su Changxing hadn’t used the Retrospection Bell, as the 5-minute cooldown was not over, preventing him from using it again.

Yet.

He remained calm, feigning a pitiful, timid demeanor before the Demon.

Others watching thought Su Changxing was scared; in such battles, fear equated with death.

It’s over... Qu Ping thought repeatedly, believing Su Changxing truly had no solution this time, advising him to stay low-key. But here he was, marked by the monster, risking his life.

In his regretful gaze, the Juvenile Demon darted past above Su Changxing, heading behind him, towards a person clad in heavy armor and wielding a bronze Longsword.

That person hadn’t expected such a sudden shift, standing dazed but raising a bronze Longsword for defense.

The Demon’s head shifted in mid-air, bypassing the bronze Longsword, biting off the person’s head, blood splattering in the air.

Then, it looked back suspiciously, sensing something amiss. At some point during its charge, it suddenly didn’t want to kill Su Changxing, so it switched targets.

Soon, it realized Su Changxing had tricked it, and redirected its charge towards him once again.

Like walking a dog, the Juvenile Demon ran past him again, charging at another person, but this time stumbled into the blood-red thorns the Saintess had prepared.

The spiked thorns restrained it once more, aggravating it into a furious shriek: "You all deserve to die!"

It couldn’t comprehend why its food would resist, why not wait peacefully to be eaten?

A fierce look flashed in Su Changxing’s eyes; he knew he couldn’t let this continue and prepared to unleash his strongest attack.

Otherwise, dragging on might cause trouble; Buddha Son and others suffered serious injuries from the monster, and Carl was no longer as brave as he initially was due to his injuries.

"Gurulu! Kill!"

Right at that moment.

A beast-like roar resounded from the snowy mountain.

A massive figure wielding a large wooden club charged at their camp, causing the entire camp to shake slightly with each step.

Su Changxing instantly dismissed the idea of making a move; it was better to stay hidden until the very last moment, then quickly retreated to clear a path for Gurulu.

Gurulu’s target was the Demon, and his figure appeared twice as large, each movement bringing violent gusts of wind.

Gurulu swung down his club upon the Demon, but it caught the club in its mouth, and then he punched the Demon’s head.

The punch was heavy, shaking the Demon’s entire body, with massive blood gushing from the wound in its abdomen.

This was extremely fierce... Su Changxing was stunned, never expecting the Barbarian’s strength to be so formidable, possibly surpassing Buddha Son and the Saintess.

The Juvenile Demon was left seeing stars from the punch and furiously swiped at Gurulu’s chest.

But Gurulu ignored the attack and instead kicked the Demon’s abdomen from the right.

Both sides engaged in a pure Barbaric war.

For a moment, with the others’ help, Gurulu managed to stand toe-to-toe with the Juvenile Demon.

"Such a monster..." Su Changxing watched the scene in silence.

Previously, Gurulu’s strength could have completely crushed him.

Carl and the others witnessed this scene, their expressions changing slightly, all instinctively holding back to let Gurulu fight the monster longer.
