Chapter 689: Chapter 45: What Is Futu?
Su Changxing didn’t bother to get too tangled up with these monks; his initial intention was just to annoy them a bit, otherwise, he could have directly entered the Thundercloud Tower.
Walking into the Thundercloud Tower, it was pitch black, and faintly visible in front was a corridor that extended forward, winding continuously.
After walking a certain distance, he looked back and found the entrance had disappeared.
This was a path of no return.
Su Changxing walked a bit further and stopped again, taking off the hazmat suit he was wearing.
Anyway, after the Slaughter Game begins, everyone else is an enemy, so the hazmat suit was unnecessary.
He suspected those monks knew about his ability to control plagues, but since the game hadn’t started, they couldn’t attack him here.
Walking further ahead, he clearly felt a spatial tremor, and the surrounding environment changed. Though it looked about the same, he had reached another place.
This place probably wasn’t inside the Thundercloud Tower.
The location he was in now might be the Land of Slaughter.
"Suppressed?"
He paused, feeling that the plague was greatly suppressed here, becoming much less active.
But it could still spread, remaining dormant on people.
"A killing game called Slaughter, a place where countless people died called Land of Slaughter, quite interesting."
Su Changxing showed a hint of sarcasm, noticing the two words "Slaughter" inscribed above on the rocky corridor, crooked and childlike.
He had previously wondered why the game was called Slaughter; in Buddhism, it roughly means merit.
As the saying goes, saving one life is better than building a seven-tier Buddha tower.
"Does killing equal saving?"
He pondered to himself, only to see the Buddha Son from Magpie Mountain Temple ahead, stopping to wait for him.
The Buddha Son pointed to the two words "Slaughter" above and said, "Can you see these two words?"
Su Changxing didn’t understand what the Buddha Son meant and responded indifferently, "Why wouldn’t I see them? They’re carved up there, I’m not illiterate."
The Buddha Son observed Su Changxing’s expression and smiled, "It seems you have Buddha Nature, and not weak at that. Normal people can’t see these words."
Su Changxing raised an eyebrow, not knowing if the Buddha Son was lying to him, and said carelessly, "So what? What does it matter if I can see it, everyone knows this place is called the Land of Slaughter."
"I guess maybe a brain-damaged monk named it, everything is called Slaughter, so this place is called Slaughter too."
This Buddha Son seemed very interested in Su Changxing and continued to ask, "Benefactor thinks this place shouldn’t be called Slaughter?"
"What else?" Su Changxing retorted.
At this moment, a nearby monk quietly reminded, "Buddha Son, the Abbot told us to stay away from him."
Su Changxing was already very close, almost walking up to them.
The Buddha Son closed his eyes and said calmly, "You can stay away, once we’re here, we must focus on Slaughter."
He looked at Su Changqing again and said, "You have Buddha Nature, proving there’s a Buddha in your heart, but that doesn’t mean the Buddha in your heart is the true Buddha."
"Legend says this place is a sacred site of our Buddhist Sect, where the real Slaughter is, but you’re all just here for gain."
Su Changxing walked up, put a hand on his shoulder, gave a thumbs up, and laughed, "Little monk, you make a lot of sense, I believe you."
"..." The monk beside him fell silent; the Abbot told them to stay away, yet the Buddha Son was sticking close to that person.
Su Changxing sneered, "You mean to say that killing is Slaughter, then today I am also Slaughter!"
The Buddha Son’s eyes glowed with a golden light, "Not entirely correct, everything is Slaughter, the heart is Slaughter, then it is Slaughter..."
Su Changxing saw him walk forward with a strange speed, leaving behind a line of golden lotus prints.
"Madman."
He cursed secretly.
The Buddha Son’s aura was rising at an alarming rate, seeming to align with the rules within this space.
This was probably the purpose of his visit here.
The Land of Slaughter wasn’t a simple place to host a game; there’s a big secret hidden inside, possibly involving these monks.
"Move aside, move aside, move aside."
Su Changxing rudely pushed the monks in front of him, squeezing through; his strength was so great that the monks couldn’t push him back.
"What’s your rush?" A monk with a red face and fat ears angrily said, but upon looking again, Su Changxing’s figure had already vanished.
They knew Su Changxing could control diseases and knew a few monks had died at his hands, but they didn’t care.
After all, this place was still a safe zone; no one could fight in the safe zone, not even Tier Five players could withstand the punishment.
There were others here too, the passage was too narrow; either they waited behind, or squeezed through.
The others weren’t in a hurry, only Su Changxing seemed to be in a rush.
"Are you rushing to reincarnate?" Another person couldn’t help but curse.
Su Changxing waved his hand, not turning back, saying, "Sort of."
Seeing Su Changxing’s actions stirred some people’s competitive spirits; they stopped waiting and began squeezing out of the passage, creating a constant uproar.
Such behavior wasn’t judged as an attack either.
Without using extra abilities, Su Changxing’s physical strength was formidable; even the Buddha Son was left behind by him.
Among them, a barbarian wearing animal skins and carrying a large wooden stick was physically strong as well, and after being bumped by Su Changxing a couple of times, his competitive spirit soared, and he roared, pushing forward, and even pushed Su Changxing aside.
Soon after, Su Changxing followed behind him, running forward. With the barbarian opening the way, it was quite easy.
Amidst the pushing and shoving, the barbarian was first, and he was the second out of the passage, seeing a vast plaza, under a dazzling starry sky.
The plaza was made of a material similar to crystal, semi-transparent, suspended high in the air, revealing a huge land below, its surroundings illuminated by blood-red light.
The noise of their passage drew attention from those already on the plaza, turning to look.
Su Changxing got up from the barbarian, coughed, and pointed behind him, nonchalantly saying:
"These people are like kids, can’t just walk without fighting for first place, so much trouble."
The players on the plaza suddenly seemed enlightened.
The players squeezing out of the passage heard this and saw the person speaking was the first to squeeze through earlier, and they were so angry, more so when Su Changxing really made it ahead.
Someone pointed at Su Changxing and accused, "It was clearly you squeezing first."
Su Changxing waved his hand earnestly, "Why would I squeeze while walking in front? Is it necessary? I think maybe not."
The person almost spat out three liters of blood, never had they seen someone so shameless, raising his magic staff, ready to attack Su Changxing.
Lightning appeared around him, the dense thunder ringing in his ears.
But before he could strike, the lightning abruptly stopped, a clear and visible blood hole appeared on his forehead, finger-sized, as if someone behind had pierced his skull with a finger.
Witnessing this scene, Su Changxing couldn’t help but take a deep breath; the other person was killed just by showing the intention to attack.
This place was strange, as if someone had appeared beside him moments ago.
Just like that, the Slaughter Game claimed its first life, and the plaza fell silent.
Someone then mocked, "Dared to attack, huh? Where do you think you are?"
Those coming out of the passage looked at the corpse, then at Su Changxing, showing wary expressions.
Many times,
The bloodless blade is the most terrifying; they realized this person’s death was Su Changxing’s doing.
A young Daoist in a robe glanced at Su Changxing, then whispered to the person next to him, "This guy has deep schemes, let’s keep away from him."
Then they bypassed Su Changxing and walked to the side.
Not me, I didn’t, don’t talk nonsense... Su Changxing looked bewildered at the corpse, feeling puzzled inside.
He didn’t expect that person to attack so recklessly.
Strange.
Su Changxing looked around, feeling deeply oppressed just by staying in this space.
Shortly after,
His phone buzzed with numerous messages about the rules of the Slaughter Game and an updated leaderboard showing everyone’s current points.
