Chapter 416: Chapter 59: Forest Elf, the Ancient Race’s Path of Ascension to Divinity (Part 2)

It’s perfectly reasonable for a God of Mortals to continue believing in patriarchal Deities, isn’t it?

Seeing the silence in the great hall, the Elf Elder smirked to himself before calmly continuing:

"Through experimentation, my clan and the Elf Race have discovered that any race under the protection of an Ancient Species can no longer use the path of mortal Ascension to Divinity after reaching the Saint Tier. It is even more impossible for them to gain the favor of the world’s will."

"Therefore, two years ago, my clan selected one hundred young members of our race to follow the path of mortal Ascension to Divinity, as described by the Elf Race."

"A year and a half ago, these one hundred Tier Nine members of our clan refined the Bloodline within them, activated their Divinity, and all successfully advanced to the Saint Tier."

"After entering the Saint Tier Domain, these one hundred Saint Tier members began the process of igniting the so-called Divine Fire."

"Just as the Elf Race described, this process carried an enormous risk of advancement."

"Out of the one hundred members, only thirty-two successfully ignited their Divine Fire and became what are known as Demigods."

"According to the Elf Race, this success rate is actually quite high. After all, even in their nation, the success rate for a Saint igniting their Divine Fire is less than ten percent."

"And, in the words of those Elves, this proves that we—the so-called Clans of the Ancient Species—possess a significant advantage on the path of mortal Ascension to Divinity, even without relying on the Power of Divine Grace from our Ancient Species’ Deities."

"Now, having reached this stage, can you guess what changes occurred in these new Demigod members of our clan?"

The Elder deliberately paused here.

This immediately had many of the Elf Elders laughing in frustration.

And again, it provoked a volley of angry shouts from a group of the more radical Elf Elders.

However, the Elder seemed to enjoy this reaction.

But seeing the look the Elf Queen gave him, the Elder finally got straight to the point:

"The greatest change in these Demigod members is that they could clearly sense the existence of the world’s will."

"Simultaneously, they were finally acknowledged by the world’s will, enabling them to enter the Star Realm and gather the astral dust needed to build a Divine Kingdom."

"For now, while these members of our clan cannot achieve Ascension to Divinity in the short term, the result has already told us one thing!"

"We mortal creatures of this world are also capable of becoming so-called immortal Deities."

As the Elf Elder’s words faded,

in an instant, the entire great hall fell so silent a leaf could be heard to fall.

"It’s actually true?"

"How incredible! We mortals can truly become immortal Deities?"

Many of the Elf Elders wore looks of utter shock.

But the radical Elders were quick to voice their skepticism.

"Impossible!!!"

"That fellow Val must have been bewitched by those Elves! That’s why he’s here spouting this nonsense!"

"Immortal Deities? Hah! Even Deities cannot be resurrected once they die. In the ancient age, this world was teeming with Deities from every race. And now? Where are they?"

"And this so-called ’world’s will’ is even more ridiculous."

"You can’t see it, you can’t touch it—and you say the world has a consciousness? Are you telling us the very ground we live on is alive?"

"Since the dawn of time, powerful Deities have made a mess of the earth and sky. Why didn’t the ’world’s will’ show up to punish them then?"

"Forget the ancient age! Look at what the Feathered Insect Race did, turning the land to waste. Shouldn’t they have been punished for that?"

"..."

It had to be said, these Elf Elders had a knack for finding difficult angles to argue from.

But no matter how clever their arguments, they had to face reality.

Because in the next moment, with a mere thought from the Elf Elder,

ten streaks of light suddenly shot down from the heavens above the Elf Royal Court!

"Who goes there?! How dare you trespass upon the Royal Court?!"

The Queen’s Guard, and even many of the Demigod Elf Elders, roared in anger. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

Although no one in the Elf race had ever reached the Divine Tier, as a Clan—and the most powerful Clan of an Ancient Species in this world at that—their race had produced quite a few Demigods who, much like the Dragon Race, reached that level through natural growth.

The unified roar of over one hundred Demigods was unimaginably powerful.

However, just as some of the Demigods were about to strike, the Elf Queen on her throne suddenly raised a hand to stop them.

And at that very moment,

the Demigods descending from the heavens landed behind the Elf Elder.

"Greetings, Your Majesty!"

"Greetings, honored Elders!"

The ten Elf Demigods materialized, immediately paying their respects to the Queen and the Elder Council.

Their attitude was one of deep reverence, utterly devoid of the arrogance one might expect from a Demigod.

"Hm?"

"So, these are the successful Demigod members from the path of mortal Ascension to Divinity that Val mentioned?"

"This aura? This level of Power?"

"Heh, this is hilarious! To forsake the Father God’s Divine Grace for this paltry amount of Power... I could take on ten of them by myself!"

The Elf Elders quickly deduced the newcomers’ identities.

But in the next instant, one of the radical Elf Elders sensed the auras of the ten Demigod Elves and burst into mocking laughter.

"This aura? Such weak Demigods?"

"Mortal Ascension to Divinity? A Demigod who forsakes the Father God’s Divine Grace and Power, burning their own Bloodline? This is all they amount to?"

"..."

Sensing the Power level of these Demigods, every member of the Elf Elder Council frowned.

Even the Queen on her throne found herself raising an eyebrow.

"So, this is the path of mortal Ascension to Divinity you spoke of, Elder Val?"

The Elf Queen frowned as she looked at Elder Val, her expression tinged with disappointment.

However, facing the Elf Queen’s disappointment, Val’s expression remained calm. He bowed once more and said:

"Yes, Your Majesty."

"This is the price of the path of mortal Ascension to Divinity."

"Our race’s Power has been limited by the Father God, capped below the Divine Tier. Therefore, to achieve Ascension to Divinity, we must forsake the Power bestowed by the Father God—and even our original Forest Elf Bloodline."
