Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Understanding the Situation and a Hearty Meal

"Of course. It can even be considered a nutritional supplement!" Xin Wan replied immediately. "Crocodile blood has an extremely high oxygen-carrying capacity—over a hundred times that of other mammals. It contains active peptides, which have antibacterial and tumor-suppressing properties..."

After hearing Xin Wan’s explanation, Ren Yuanyang was a little surprised. "Wow, crocodile blood is that good? It’s a good thing I washed the container for it several times. You should take the crocodile blood over, too. You can decide how to handle it. Later, cook up some of the crocodile meat to celebrate you joining our team!"

Xin Wan was slightly taken aback, then hurriedly replied, "Okay!"

"Lu Jiamei, you’ll be on watch duty on the speedboat. While you’re at it, tell her about our current situation," Ren Yuanyang instructed. "However, these are our team’s secrets. To make sure our secrets don’t get out and make us a target, we’ll need to hold on to her phone."

Xin Wan froze for a second, then immediately took out her own phone and handed it over voluntarily.

’Unlimited water and salt—that alone was enough to make any survivor go insane!’

Ren Yuanyang’s caution made perfect sense!

She knew that only by handing over her phone could she put Ren Yuanyang at ease.

Although it was highly unlikely Xin Wan would be foolish enough to reveal these things, Ren Yuanyang still took her phone to be absolutely sure.

"If there’s any important news on the regional channel, I’ll pass it on to you. If you have any important messages you need to send, I can post them for you, too!" Ren Yuanyang said after a moment’s thought.

"Thank you, Boss!" Xin Wan replied.

Lu Jiamei quickly finished cleaning up and brought the crocodile blood back to the speedboat.

The speedboat’s cabin was surrounded by windows, allowing Lu Jiamei to keep watch from inside. It was much better than standing out in the rain!

"Let me answer your previous questions first!" Lu Jiamei said with a smile, seeing Xin Wan’s eager expression. "The container didn’t sink because it’s being held up by Duckweed. We have plenty of pure water and salt because we have specific plants that help us purify water and secrete salt. And the lighting, naturally, comes from that Fluorescent Cactus."

"Duckweed? Can it really support a container that heavy?" Xin Wan found it incredible!

Lu Jiamei smiled slightly and replied, "When we jumped from the speedboat to the container entrance earlier, you were stepping on that same Duckweed. You should have gotten a feel for its supporting strength then!"

Xin Wan had been distracted at the time and hadn’t paid attention to the Duckweed underfoot. Recalling it now, it had felt like walking on solid ground!

"But how is that possible?" Xin Wan still couldn’t believe it.

Lu Jiamei replied, "Nothing’s impossible. If it can rain for over three months and all sorts of creatures can start evolving, what’s left that’s impossible?"

Xin Wan was stunned again, then nodded. She suddenly realized that all the problems Lu Jiamei mentioned were solved using plants.

"Is our boss a plant-type Evolver?" Xin Wan immediately asked for confirmation.

Lu Jiamei nodded slightly. "Yes. And his evolutionary ability is very special. He can make plants evolve..."

Next, Lu Jiamei recounted everything she had seen and heard since meeting Ren Yuanyang.

Xin Wan was completely dumbfounded.

"That’s... way too powerful!"

Lu Jiamei replied with a smile, "Now you understand why I said you made an incredibly wise choice, right?"

Xin Wan nodded emphatically.

"The rarest part is that even with so much power, he’s still so decent!" Lu Jiamei said with feeling.

"Yeah. When he told you to take me to his place just now, I thought he was up to no good!" Xin Wan agreed.

"Hahaha, if he really wanted to do something bad, would you go along with it, or would you *go along* with it?" Lu Jiamei asked with a laugh.

Xin Wan shot her a look. "Do we even have a choice right now?"

"From the sound of it, it doesn’t seem like you’d object!"

"You’re the one who wouldn’t object!"

The two women laughed and teased each other for a bit, feeling their bond grow much closer.

"You keep processing the crocodile meat. I’m going out to patrol!" Lu Jiamei put on a raincoat and went out.

Although she could observe the surroundings from the speedboat’s cabin, she couldn’t see the other side of the container. She needed to climb on top of it.

Xin Wan nodded, first marinating a portion of the crocodile meat, then taking out a frying pan to start cooking.

Soon, the fragrant aroma of meat wafted out.

Ren Yuanyang swallowed, boarded the speedboat directly, and saw Lu Jiamei patrolling on top of the container. He called out, "Come on in and eat something hot!"

"Yes, sir!" Lu Jiamei had caught the scent of meat long ago, and her stomach was starting to growl.

Hearing Ren Yuanyang’s call, she immediately jumped onto the speedboat and entered the cabin with him.

"Just a moment, it’s almost ready!" Xin Wan said, glancing back before continuing to cook.

Ren Yuanyang looked around again and asked, "Can two people sleep here?"

Xin Wan’s spatula paused for a moment. She then replied, "Yes, these seats can all be folded down to form a large bed, two meters square!"

"Mm," Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly, then turned to Lu Jiamei and asked, "Lu Jiamei, you two will rest here together. Any problems with that?"

Xin Wan was taken aback again, then let out a sigh of relief. And then, she once again began to doubt her own appeal.

At the same time, her heart filled with gratitude once more. She had assumed that since Ren Yuanyang had taken her speedboat, she wouldn’t be able to rest here anymore!

’Perhaps that small boat next to the container was meant to be my resting place.’

She never expected Ren Yuanyang to let her keep resting on the speedboat.

Lu Jiamei also froze for a moment. She, too, had thought Ren Yuanyang was about to choose one of them for the night!

But she quickly recovered and said, "No problem. Does this mean we need to dismantle the bed in the container?"

Ren Yuanyang nodded. "Yes, it needs to be dismantled. I have other uses for the space inside the container."

Just then, Xin Wan finished cooking the crocodile meat and placed it on the table.

"With our limited supplies, this is the best I could do. Boss, have a taste!"

Ren Yuanyang didn’t stand on ceremony. He picked up the nearby fork, speared a piece of meat, and blew on it to cool it down.

Even without any seasoning, a faint, fragrant aroma drifted into his nostrils.

He popped it into his mouth and chewed a couple of times. The meat was tender and smooth, like a cross between chicken and fish.

"Mmm, delicious!" Ren Yuanyang gave a thumbs-up. "You really are a master chef!"

"I’m glad you’re satisfied!" Xin Wan replied with a smile.

"Very satisfied. Let’s eat together!" Ren Yuanyang invited.

Lu Jiamei eagerly speared a piece of meat with her chopsticks, stuffed it into her mouth, and chewed with a blissful expression on her face.

Xin Wan could only use chopsticks as well, since there was only one fork, and Ren Yuanyang was using it.

The three of them devoured the food, and the two pounds of crocodile meat in the pan quickly disappeared.

This was the first time Ren Yuanyang had felt truly full since he’d transmigrated.

"It feels so good to be full!" Ren Yuanyang exclaimed.

Lu Jiamei and Xin Wan both nodded in unison. This was the most they had eaten in a month.

"Looks like we need to catch more fish. From now on, we’ll probably have to rely on the fish in this water for food!" Lu Jiamei said after some thought.

Xin Wan nodded in agreement.

Ren Yuanyang smiled faintly. "Not necessarily!"

Hearing this, Xin Wan paused, then looked at him in confusion.

’Is there other food?’
