Chapter 176: Chapter 165: The Elf God’s Hiding Place; Lin Aoxue’s Unexpected Request
As for what ultimately became of the Elf God, the answer was quite simple. The new Moon God, having inherited the previous one’s legacy memories, used those memories to return to that micro-plane and retrieve the Sun Divine Position. After confirming there was nothing else of value there, the new Moon God returned and used this Sun Divine Position to seal the gravely wounded Elf God.
The Sun God’s Divine Position was of the same tier as the Elf God’s, so it could be used as the material to seal him. And once the Elf God was gravely wounded and had fallen into a deep slumber, he could no longer perceive changes in the outside world. Therefore, even as he was being sealed, he remained completely oblivious.
After the Moon God confirmed that the Sun Divine Position could indeed seal the Elf God and that it would be impossible for him to break the seal in his gravely wounded state, they decided to be extra cautious. The Moon God transported the Elf God to the very same micro-plane where the Moon and Sun Divine Positions had been discovered, sealing him there. Only after the Elf God had been completely removed from the main plane did the Moon Elves begin to build their strength and plan the subsequent overthrow of the Elf Main City.
As for the Elf Holy Grail and Stone of Faith that Zhang Yi had seen earlier, they were not Divine Artifacts the Moon God had obtained through some fortuitous encounter. They were actually Divine Artifacts created by the original Elf God. The Elf God had originally intended to team up with the Beast God, kill the God of the Sea, and then use the Elf Holy Grail to purify faith, build his power, and kill the Beast God. He never expected, however, that the Beast God would betray him in that battle. If the God of the Sea hadn’t saved him, he likely would have died right there on the battlefield.
Later, the Moon God—who had inherited all of the Elf God’s possessions—claimed this Divine Artifact for themself. Only after understanding its effects did they begin to promote the use of the Elf Holy Grail to purify faith. Zhang Yi already knew the rest of the story.
After Zhang Yi finished processing this flood of memories, he laughed alone in his Divine Realm for more than ten minutes before finally calming down.
"This is fantastic!"
Zhang Yi hadn’t expected that on top of obtaining the "Elf" Divine Position, he would also be gaining the Divine Positions of the Moon God and the Sun God. While not Top Level Divine Positions like his Natural Divine Position, they were still Upper Class Divine Positions—more than enough to dominate an ordinary Multiverse. If Zhang Yi refined these two Divine Positions, he could directly raise his Natural Divine Position to over 1%.
But there’s no hurry. He wasn’t in a rush for the Sun Divine Position, the Moon Divine Position, or even the corpse of the Moon God that lay before him. Because if they are offered to me through a ritual sacrifice, I’ll gain even greater benefits!
Just then, his Holy Believer, Feiyana, who had remained on the battlefield, sent a message to the great God of Nature. The message stated that the group of Dark Elves they had been cooperating with had arrived. However, they did not want to take over the Moon Elf Main City directly. Instead, they wished to meet with the Elf High Priest first to discuss their prior agreement.
From the message relayed by his Holy Believer Feiyana, Zhang Yi knew that Lin Aoxue had arrived. He also understood why she had suddenly changed her mind and now wanted to meet with him before discussing the takeover of the Moon Elf Main City. The reason was simple: the power he and his Clan had displayed during the recent battle against the Moon God had completely stunned her.
It made Lin Aoxue realize that if Zhang Yi could kill the Moon God, he could naturally kill her, someone even weaker. Had Zhang Yi only shown his previous level of strength, Lin Aoxue would have happily taken her thirty percent share of the Moon Elf Main City’s spoils. But after his display of power, as long as she wasn’t a fool, she would know she had gotten far too good a deal. Now, she surely wanted to renegotiate. She would rather take a smaller share than risk offending him at a time like this.
Meanwhile, Zhang Yi was also eager to meet with Lin Aoxue to discuss their future cooperation. After all, with just over half a year left until the end of the final exams, it would be a terrible shame if everything fell apart in this final stretch. Therefore, defending the border between the Elves and the Beastmen for the last half-year was of the utmost importance. Lin Aoxue sought out Zhang Yi to renegotiate the terms for the Moon Elf Main City, and he, in turn, wanted to discuss the future defense of the border with her. So, Zhang Yi readily agreed to the meeting proposed in Feiyana’s message.
After placing the Moon God’s corpse and the Moon Divine Position in his Divine Realm, Zhang Yi prepared to head to the Small Magic Plane for a detailed discussion with Lin Aoxue. He would deal with the Elf God and the Sun Divine Position later.
When Zhang Yi used Saint’s Descent to possess Elf Corps Commander Feiyana, the scene that greeted him was that of Dark Elf Leader Russell and Director of Intelligence Stock, sipping tea with smiles on their faces. Sensing the change that came over Elf Corps Commander Feiyana, Director of Intelligence Stuck offered a brief farewell and departed from the tent. As he left, he cast a Sound Insulation Array that enveloped the entire tent.
At the same time, Lin Aoxue took full control of Russell’s body, her Clan member. Zhang Yi did likewise.
"It’s been a while."
The two exchanged greetings first, as it was the first time they had met within this Small Magic Plane. By the plane’s timeline, three years had passed since they had last seen each other in the real world. But since they had been classmates, the two quickly got down to negotiating the terms for the Moon Elf Main City and their prior agreement. Lin Aoxue proactively conceded some of her profits, and Zhang Yi, in turn, was not overly greedy.
In the end, Lin Aoxue voluntarily gave up a ten percent share, leaving her with twenty percent of the Moon Elf Main City’s profits. However, her twenty percent stake didn’t come without strings attached. For the final half-year, Zhang Yi would entrust the entire defense of the border to her, though he would also dispatch a Military Governor to the Elven border. If Lin Aoxue proved capable enough to bring all the Elf Corps stationed at the border under her command, Zhang Yi would not stand in her way. Furthermore, Zhang Yi would give Lin Aoxue half of the Dark Elves and Moon Elves currently in the Moon Elf Main City. As for the rest of the Moon Elves’ remaining legacy, Zhang Yi would inherit it all. Lin Aoxue, knowing she couldn’t compete with him, had already proactively offered to cede that portion of the benefits.
Yet, even after they had concluded their discussion on these two matters, Lin Aoxue did not leave. Seeing this, Zhang Yi knew she likely had more to say. The next moment, he shielded Feiyana’s consciousness. Then, he spoke to Lin Aoxue.
"Is there something else?"
The words Lin Aoxue spoke next were nothing short of earth-shattering to Zhang Yi.
"I want to become your Subordinate God!"
