Chapter 165: Chapter 160: Annihilation of the Cavalry Legion, the True Forbidden Curse Spell

Looking into the distance, the gap was steadily closing as a cloud of dust billowed behind the Moon Elf Cavalry Corps.

The Elves operating the Magic Equipment saw the Moon Elf cavalry charging toward them, but instead of fear, smiles spread across their faces.

"Elf Legion Commander Feiyana’s plan can finally be put into action!"

"Those Moon Elves on the other side are such cowards. We’ve been waiting for them for so long!"

"Yeah, yeah! We’ve waited so long the flowers were about to wilt!"

The Elves operating the Magic Equipment were all smiling, not at all worried that the Moon Elves’ ace cavalry would reach them.

The female Moon Elves leading the charge had their long, silver hair tied up. Their Armor, forged with Mithril, shimmered under the sun as they held their bows, Long Spears resting at their sides. An unstoppable momentum gathered around them.

The Moon Elves at the vanguard knew there might be a trap, so their first probe ended when the Shadow Claw cavalry corps was only five hundred meters from the Magic Equipment operators and the defending Elf Corps had leveled their Long Spears. The cavalry corps suddenly split to the sides into a large "V" shape, drew their Bows and Arrows, and fired toward the center.

This was indeed unexpected; they hadn’t anticipated the Moon Elf cavalry corps would refrain from a foolish, direct charge. However, this development was also within Elf Legion Commander Feiyana’s calculations. Following a prearranged plan, the Elf Mages in the rear acted. A massive, semicircular Magic Defense Array materialized, covering the entire sky above. The Arrows fired by the Shadow Claw Moon Elf Cavalry Corps struck the Magic Defense Array, producing only a TING! TING! sound.

The enemy was forcing their cavalry to charge.

With no other choice, the cavalry corps, which had already fanned out, executed a wide 270-degree turn and returned to their starting point at the gate of the Moon Elf Main City.

Seeing this, a sharp glint flashed in Elf Legion Commander Feiyana’s eyes. The time for the decisive battle has come!

Soon, her orders were relayed to every unit.

As Elf Military Commander Feiyana’s orders were sent via Telepathy to the Elf officers controlling each unit, the entire Elf Corps prepared for battle.

"Experimental model Magic Cannons, aim for the Moon Elf Cavalry Corps preparing to charge!"

"The moment their charge enters optimal effective range, open fire! No need to wait like last time!"

"Penetration-type and explosive-type Magic Giant Crossbows, aim for the still-open Elf City Gate! Prepare to fire!"

"Remember, the penetration-type Magic Giant Crossbows must pin the gate with their bolts, preventing it from closing!"

"Explosive-type Magic Giant Crossbows, fire directly at the gate and blow it to smithereens!"

"Magic Stone-Throwing Cannons, ready all Stone Bombs inscribed with Anti-Magic Runes!"

"It doesn’t matter if the Magic Stone-Throwing Cannons are damaged from operating at full power. Launch all of these Stone Bombs in the shortest possible time!"

"Elf Corps, prepare to charge!"

"Elf Mage Corps, you may begin the joint casting of the Forbidden Curse Spell!"

"Tree-man Corps, prepare for defense!"

"..."

With a do-or-die attitude, the Moon Elves’ ace cavalry corps—Shadow Claw—once again entered the optimal range of the Magic Giant Cannons. But this time, the cannons showed no mercy.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Dozens of Magic Cannons roared in unison. The sound was like thunder, and the sheer force of the simultaneous volley made the very Earth beneath their feet tremble. The Magic Cannons fired their shells. Powered by Magic Crystals, the Magic Runes carved onto the cannons converted the Attributeless Magic Power into Fire Attribute cannonballs. Each shell screamed through the air, reminiscent of the Forbidden Curse Spell—Flame Prison Celestial Tribulation, as they rained down upon the enemy’s ace cavalry, Shadow Claw.

The female Elf Cavalry at the very front wore silvery-white Magic Armor forged with Mithril, which reflected a cold light under the sun. Even the black panthers they rode were fully armored. Yet this Magic Armor, capable of defending against even Attack Magic, shattered in an instant, like paper, against the Fire Attribute cannonballs.

When a single Fire Attribute cannonball shot past a Moon Elf at the forefront and slammed into the ground, it caused a massive explosion. In an instant, the black panther of a Moon Elf further back was blown to pieces, its body completely obliterated. A spray of mangled flesh and bone fragments rained down on the other Moon Elves. The resulting shockwave disrupted the formation of the other charging Moon Elves, causing their advance to swerve off course.

The cannonballs from these Magic Cannons inflicted immense casualties among the charging cavalry. The fallen Moon Elf riders in front ironically became a ghastly barrier. The cavalry behind them directed their black panthers to leap over the bodies, but the barrier was too wide. The panthers that landed mid-jump ended up stumbling, taking the Moon Elves on their backs down with them.
