Chapter 290: The Global Event and Attracting Attention
While everyone was doing their best to accumulate more Survivor Medals, the Global Notification appeared.
All Foreign Survivors within the continent received a similar message!
"Ahh! Just three hours left. I only gathered 12 Survivor Medals."
"Shit... Why are C-Grade Energy Cores only worth 0.10 Points each anyway?!"
"Three hours... I still need at least 20 more. What am I supposed to offer the Gene Trader now?"
At this point, even the World Chat started getting noisy.
[ Joseph: Hey, don’t panic. Remember, rare resources convert better. If you have a whole A.I. Unit like Spyder, Tyrant, and even their Gunships, you’ll earn better. With Unique items, the rate jumps significantly. ]
[ Eliza: Easy for you to say! I only have scraps from the mines. The Gene Trader barely gave me anything for them. ]
[ Claire: You should’ve joined our Codebreakers Guild. Almost all members of the Codebreakers already have their tokens secured. ]
[ Lesley: Our Supreme Guild is catching up. Your Codebreakers Guild might be the first but our Guild has the highest number of members! We’re going to surpass you soon. ]
[ Mei: Having a small number of Elites is better than a large number of nobodies. ]
[ Lesley: Huh? Are you saying we’re nobodies? ]
[ Mei: Just kidding. ]
[ Owen: Hey, look at this notification again... What will happen to our shelter if we disappear? We’re not going to get attacked by the A.I. Army, right? What if we return with a shelter under fire? ]
[ Thomas: Just pray. Don’t think too much of it. ]
[ Hannah: Two days inside the Auction realm... Can you imagine what kind of items will appear? Forbidden technologies, genetic resources... If we miss this, we’ll never catch up. ]
[ Eliza: Stop whining... Don’t attend the event if you’re too worried about your shelter. Ayway, three hours is still time to scrape something together. Even one more medal could make the difference. ]
[ Connie: Yeah, but the conversion rates are brutal. The Gene Trader rejected half my stuff outright. Not even 0.01 points! Just pure rejection! ]
[ Farrah: Then gamble it. Offer everything. Try to offer your organ or something. Better to risk it now than regret it later. ]
[ Connie: WTF? ]
In the meantime, Kai closed the world chat and remained in his pod within the New Haven-45, staring at the message.
[ Global Event Reminder ]
[ Special Operation: Black Market Auction ]
[ Time Remaining: 3 Hours ]
[ Duration: 2 Days ]
[ Instruction: Survivors who have obtained Auction Tokens will soon be transported. ]
[ Note: All qualified Survivors will disappear from this world and enter a separate realm prepared by the Gene Traders. Only those with tokens may enter. ]
[ Warning: Survivors without Auction Tokens will remain behind. Entry is strictly forbidden without a token. ]
[ Currency: Survivor Medals remain the primary bidding currency. ]
[ Reminder: Auction halls are neutral zones under Gene Trader protection. Combat is restricted inside. ]
During these remaining hours, Kai decided to summon more Gift Packs... They were not to be converted into points, but instead, they would be for the rest of the people who would be staying in this shelter.
After all, despite having enough Modified Sentinels on their side, the Diggers could still cause some problems.
He could only hope that their preparation was more than enough to deal with the new types in case they attacked while they were away...

Time quickly passed, and soon, the timer reached zero.
[ Global Event Transfer ]
[ Special Operation: Black Market Auction ]
[ Status: Commencing ]
[ Instruction: Survivors with Auction Tokens will now be transported. ]
One by one, survivors clutching their tokens began to dissipate.
Their bodies shimmered with a faint glow before vanishing entirely, leaving behind stunned companions.
The shelters echoed with gasps and murmurs as dozens of foreign survivors disappeared into thin air.
Kai also felt the pull immediately. His Auction Token glowed brightly, and before he could take another breath, his vision blurred.
The world around him dissolved, replaced by a vast, unfamiliar horizon.
"T-that doesn’t feel comfortable." Kai muttered.
He arrived in a mysterious land that seemed endless. The ground beneath him was smooth and metallic, stretching far into the distance.
Towering structures could be seen in the background, but their designs weren’t towering structures but more like circular structures... It was like a fusion of futuristic technology and ancient architecture.
Kai blinked, adjusting to the new environment. He was standing on a massive platform crowded with survivors. Thousands of figures filled the space, each one clutching their weapons, tokens, or packs of resources.
A notification appeared before his eyes.
[ Congratulations, Survivor! ]
[ You have successfully entered the Auction Realm. ]
[ Current Location: Platform 5 ]
[ Note: Survivors have been distributed across Platforms 1 to 20 to prevent overcrowding. Each platform contains thousands of participants. ]
Kai scanned the crowd. The sheer number of survivors was staggering. He realized that this was only one of twenty platforms. The scale of the event was far beyond anything he had imagined.
Another notification followed.
[ Auction Realm Overview ]
[ Description: This realm is structured as a vast metropolitan city, designed by the Gene Traders. ]
[ Facilities: Each platform contains trading districts, resource exchanges, and private stalls where survivors may barter with sellers. ]
[ Main Event: The Black Market Auction will be held in the Grand Arena. Tens of thousands of survivors will gather for the bidding war. ]
[ Duration:
Day 1 - Global Auction Event. All survivors may participate.
Day 2 - Exclusive Auction Event. Only survivors with 300 or more Survivor Medals remaining after Day 1 will qualify. ]
[ Reminder: Auction halls are neutral zones under Gene Trader protection. Combat is strictly forbidden inside. ]
Kai relaxed as he stared at the endless cityscape.
The platforms were connected by glowing bridges that stretched into the distance, leading toward the heart of the metropolis where the Grand Arena was located.
He could already see stalls opening, merchants shouting, and survivors looking around for rare items before the main event.
"This is interesting. So there are tens of thousands still alive on the continent... I wonder why they’re not active in the world chat." Kai mused as he confirmed that the World Chat was indeed limited. Perhaps, there’s another Global Chat.
Nonetheless, Kai had to focus on his current situation. Soon, he noticed something really important!
"They’re mostly wearing the Survivor Gear given by the System..." Kai muttered as he realized that his outfit was gathering quite some attention!
