Chapter 266: The Store and the Products
The messenger had a higher level than Kai and the others.
However, since he was under Cornelio’s orders, he bowed slightly after handing over the keys. He didn’t show any haughtiness or signs that he was looking down on them.
He even spoke respectfully.
"If you’d like, Sir Kai, I can guide you there now. The Commerce District isn’t far, but it’s easy to get lost among the stalls and warehouses."
Kai glanced at Mei, Farrah, Alfie, Claire, Ralph, and the siblings Xian and Xinyi.
He nodded. "We’ll all go. Better to see it together."
The group set out, following the messenger through Cameron City’s bustling streets.
Xian and Xinyi also walked close to each other. They were still thin from their hardships, but no longer frail like before.
After receiving Gene Enhancement Serums from Kai and eating proper meals for a couple of days, their faces had regained color.
Furthermore, they were able to endure consuming at least 10 drops each before sensing that they could no longer improve, which was already quite amazing.
It appears that they needed another month or so to fully absorb the Gene Enhancements before being allowed to consume more.
Xinyi flexed her new arm as they walked. There was a faint smile tugging at her lips as she fixed her blue hair...
She then whispered to her brother, "I feel like I could smash a house without a problem."
Xian chuckled nervously after hearing this, but there was pride in his eyes.
"Just don’t break any more glasses. I don’t know how to apologize to them any longer."
"Y-yeah... I promise that won’t happen again."

Soon, the messenger led them into the Commerce District.
The atmosphere shifted immediately. It was less chaotic than the outer markets and it was more structured.
Rows of shops lined the streets, each marked with banners and signs, while warehouses stood behind them...
Merchants here weren’t shouting prices, but they were actively enticing customers to buy from them by doing demos, giving samples, giving rewards, and others.
Of course, aside from the buyers around, there were also carts loaded with goods that rattled across the cobblestones.
Finally, they stopped before a modest two‑story building.
The shopfront wasn’t grand, but it looked sturdy and was being taken care of... It had shutters and a wide counter space inside.
The warehouse connected to the back was also larger than Kai expected. It had iron‑bound doors and enough room to store crates, barrels, and supplies for several shelters.
"This is yours now," the messenger said proudly.
"The Aries Faction has approved it. Fifty C‑Grade Energy Cores per month, fixed. You’ll find no better deal in this district. It also means that if you reach Level 40, you have to consider the Aries Zodiac first before anything else..."
"I understand." Kai nodded.
It was still up to him whether to choose Aries and bear its last name. He liked how they weren’t forcing him, so he would view them positively.
Kai then stepped inside, running his hand along the counter.
The place was not dusty as he thought it would, but there was a smell of old wood.
Still, just a bit of cleaning would be more than enough.
He imagined shelves lined with stimulants, potions, and devices from his Infinite Gift Packs or even weapons.
He pictured survivors crowding the shop, desperate for items they couldn’t find anywhere else but here...
Mei then walked through the warehouse and knew that Kai would make full use of this.
After all, she was already pretty much aware of how Kai’s Talent worked.
"It’s bigger than I thought. We could store everything here... food packs, medical kits, even some entertainment materials."
Farrah also tapped the iron door. "Strong enough to keep thieves out. This is good."
Alfie grinned. "Imagine the faces of the merchants when they see what you’ll be selling. I’m sure you’ll be flooding the market with rare items."
Kai’s lips curved into a faint smile. He knew Alfie was right.
His Infinite Gift Packs would disrupt the balance of trade in Cameron City. Merchants would probably complain, factions might take notice, and prices would shift.
But Kai didn’t care.
He needed Energy Cores, Skill Crystals, and rare materials. He needed everything that could strengthen his shelters and prepare them for the war against Anima.
"We just need enough strength to protect ourselves." Kai muttered.
"We’ll sell what we have. If the market shakes, so be it. I need cores, and I need items. That’s all that matters..."
Xinyi, still flexing her new arm, laughed softly. "You sound so cool, Brother Kai... Please hire me as a cleaner! I’m good at cleaning!"
She then held Xian’s arm and continued. "We’ll work really hard!"
"Haha... Of course, you can help around. You can live here for a while." Kai chuckled as he shuffled the young girl’s hair.
Xian also felt excited. He was also determined to work here. He noticed that there were staff rooms that they could use to live here, and he wouldn’t pass up the opportunity.
"Brother Kai... thank you. You’ve given us more than we ever dreamed."
Kai nodded. Initially, he wanted to bring Xian to New Haven-45 to maximize his Title Effect. However, he realized that they were still children, and they weren’t that desperate to make Xian and Xinyi their combatants.
They might as well safely grow in this city, where no A.I. Army could breach.
Kai looked around the shop once again, and soon, it was decided that Mei, Claire, and Ralph would stay here with the siblings to clean the place, so they could soon open their shop...
Then, Kai went to the warehouse and unloaded several Gift Packs...
"Let’s fill a small part of this warehouse," Kai muttered as he opened his Talent System.
After some time, he unloaded a total of 30 Superior Water Gift Packs, 30 Superior Survival Tools Gift Packs, and 30 Superior Transport Gift Packs.
After that, Kai went to another corner, and this time, he opened his Enhanced Gift Packs. Then, he selected 50 Food Gift Packs and 50 Shelter Gift Packs from them...
"Alright... I’ll leave these things to you to organize." Kai said as he looked at this work.
"We’re going to check the Blood Duel..." Kai said as he ignored the stunned faces of Xian and Xinyi...
The two of them heard that Foreign Survivors had a mystical Inventory System, but they didn’t expect that they could hold this many resources!
