Chapter 399. Confidence, Witnessing the Rise of a Supreme Powerhouse?

Lu Yuan's victory had given the entire Celestial Court and everyone on Earth a huge boost in confidence. They finally understood that those beings from the Outer Cosmos were not invincible.

Perhaps they could eventually raise the Milky Way Starfield to its former heights in ancient times. Zhu Qingyu and the others knew that, a long time ago, the Milky Way Starfield was one of the top ten starfields. In fact, even the formidable Ji Clan and the Jiang Clan were originally from here.

Now that the Milky Way Starfield was Awakening once more, its resources, blessed lands, and fortunes for the taking would slowly reveal themselves to the world. Those resources could not be allowed to fall into the hands of invaders.

If used properly, they could build a Celestial Court in the truest sense of the word. Once that happened, everyone could become its troops or generals. With that in mind, a new ambition manifested in everyone's hearts, and with it came a question—had this been King Lu's goal all along?

Meanwhile, the Holy Son of the Ji Clan was bleeding from his nose and mouth. His aura was unstable, and it took him a long while to stabilize himself. The avatar was crafted with enormous effort, and his will had descended along with it.

Its destruction had dealt significant damage to him.

"He has become an Immortal. Our plan has failed," the Holy Son of the Eternals said, watching as the Holy Son of the Ji Clan stabilized himself. The rage in his eyes faded away. He was furious about his avatar being destroyed, but he knew there was nothing to be done about it.

An aimless rage was pointless, so he forced himself to calm down.

"You're right. I didn't expect him to become so powerful," the Holy Son of the Ji Clan said, nodding. The composure he had carried from before was gone. His expression looked extremely solemn.

The Immortal Realm and everything below it were two fundamentally different concepts. Now that Lu Yuan had reached the Immortal Realm, the chances of killing him were virtually nonexistent. At the very least, it could not be done through their efforts alone.

The Holy Son of the Ji Clan was now certain that Lu Yuan had obtained a wisp of Great Age Providence. In other words, if they wanted to kill him, they had to do more than just join hands; extraordinary measures had to be taken.

"What do you plan to do next? Even without that Separation of Heaven and Earth, we still won't be able to kill Lu Yuan," the Holy Son of the Eternals remarked.

The Separation of Heaven and Earth was one factor, and Lu Yuan's strength was another. They had thought they had accounted for every variable, but they had never once considered the possibility of Lu Yuan reaching the Immortal Realm mid-fight.

"You're right." The Holy Son of the Ji Clan nodded and said, "It seems we can only completely destroy the Separation of Heaven and Earth. Lu Yuan's rate of growth is so fast that it won't be long before he becomes a major threat to us."

"We are already his enemies. Don't you think it's only a matter of time before he attacks us?" the Holy Son of the Ji Clan asked. Then, he answered his own question, saying, "That is definitely the case. He's the type to repay every grudge. We'd better start planning now. Even if our elders aren't taking this seriously, won't they eventually do that upon realizing how great a threat he is?"

The Holy Son of the Ji Clan had never underestimated Lu Yuan. If anything, he had always made sure to overestimate Lu Yuan. In fact, that was why he had come to the Milky Way Starfield in person, and why he had used that mysterious seal to open up a passageway.

All of those actions were for the sake of dealing with Lu Yuan. Back then, he thought Lu Yuan's fate was sealed, but today's battle proved that he was sorely mistaken.

"I understand what you're getting at. Contact the elders back home and push the invasion plan forward. Is that it?" The Holy Son of the Eternals was perceptive enough to see where the other party was going."All right, I'll do it. But the Ji Clan will need to do its part as well."

He decided to take the other party's words to heart, but it wasn't because the reasoning was extremely solid. It was more like he was convinced that Lu Yuan had yet to reach the limits of his strength, and this was a deduction based on what he had witnessed today.

In other words, Lu Yuan would certainly become a grave threat. The Holy Son of the Eternals would not sit by and let that happen. Hence, he decided to accept the other party's proposal.

"Don't worry. I raised the idea, so I'll follow through with it. Lu Yuan cannot be allowed to keep growing; we absolutely can't let him go. He has already allied with the Jiang Clan.

"No one can predict the future; we still have the advantage right now, but I believe that won't last forever," the Holy Son of the Ji Clan remarked. He remained clear-headed despite his defeat, and this was one of the reasons he was still alive. He would never underestimate his foes, especially Lu Yuan.

"Then let's do what we must do," The Holy Son of the Eternals said. He glanced at the figures lingering within the solar system, but he then ignored them and turned to leave. Before departing, he was reminded of something. "I heard that Lu Yuan fought Xuanci of the Sukhāvatī Starfield. Maybe we can make use of that."

"Of course. And you know better than anyone how powerful the Sukhāvatī Starfield truly is. If we could bring them to our side, it'd be great," said the Holy Son of the Ji Clan with a smile.

The Sukhāvatī Starfield had dealt the Eternals a devastating blow a long time ago, but if they could somehow stand together against Lu Yuan, everything would go much more smoothly.

With that, the two Holy Sons said nothing more and left. The solar system became silent once again, but this wasn't because the invaders from the Outer Cosmos had left. Instead, the invaders had gone silent, choosing to gaze at the blue planet down below with solemn faces.

Once Lu Yuan was no more, they would be free to divide this world's resources and fortunes among themselves, but none of them had expected this outcome.

What was even more terrifying was that they had all just witnessed the rise of a new Immortal. There were Immortals in quite a few starfields, but Lu Yuan was markedly different.

Everyone knew that he had just embarked on the path of evolution. Even if one were to search the entire universe, one would not find anyone like Lu Yuan.

If he had truly obtained a wisp of Great Age Providence, how terrifying would he become in the future? His strength and talent were at the apex—no, they were arguably better than even the average Holy Sons and Saintesses.

Strangely enough, they suddenly shared one bizarre sentiment. They all felt like they hadn't come here to obtain the boons and fortunes available for the taking during the Great Age. Instead, they all felt like they had come here to witness the rise of a supreme powerhouse.
