Chapter 75: His Bloodlust
Just as Renard was about to continue blabbering, the Fleshcraft Grandmaster’s deep black eyes flashed coldly, and he said in an irrefutable tone, "ENOUGH!!!"
"DO NOT TEST MY PATIENCE ANY FURTHER, PRINCE RENARD."
For an instant, there was silence; the prince’s casual smile slowly receded. He let out a sigh and finally revealed the reason Lazek was here.
"According to what I have last heard, from my subordinate whom I sent with Kale, he had entered the swamp hatchery a day ago, and he had not come out yet..."
Lazek’s breathing quickened; he stood there silently, staring into the Prince’s eyes for any hints of falsehood.
But Renard kept his unflinching smile.
Lazek asked, "How do you know Kale?"
Renard chuckled, "I met him a few years back in his village... when I was on my pilgrimage. Travelling through all the parts of the Empire."
Lazek’s eyes narrowed, "His village?"
Renard blinked in slight surprise and studied the famous Fleshcrafter’s expression carefully.
He asked in surprise, "Don’t tell me? So, you don’t know where he’s from?"
"Kale didn’t actually tell you anything? So he doesn’t trust you?"

Renard couldn’t help but laugh, "That’s a bit unexpected. In that case, it would be quite wrong for me to reveal his origin to you without permission, wouldn’t it?"
Lazek remained silent, showing no change in expression, but Renard continued to mock him in a roundabout way: "But there is something else I can tell you, the true reason why he was cursed by the church, at least according to what I know."
Renard saw the Grandmaster’s eyes tremble ever so slightly.
Thus, he revealed, almost in a grand tone, "Kale was born with the Legendary trait of Natural Soul Harmony."
This time the shock Lazek felt was something that he could not hide, as it appeared on his face; the prince found it amusing,
"I personally saw him being able to command hordes of wild animals, and they would obey him without hesitation. Kale could communicate with them all freely."
"What a sight it was... truly, I can understand why the Church thought of him as dangerous. To put such a horrendous curse upon Kale," sighed Renard.
The Prince looked deeply into the Grandmaster’s eyes and thought to himself, ’It seems Lazek really did not know about any of those secrets of Kale, and....’
’Considering how much this guy values his disciple, it must mean that Kale also possesses an unprecedented talent in Artificing as well.’
Renard’s eyes gleamed.
The cunning Prince, in one short exchange, managed to determine many more important details about his mysterious friend Kale Ardentis; in his eyes, the value of the Cursed Tamer increased again to a much higher degree.
For a moment, he became greatly displeased with his sister’s actions as she had sent a Grandmaster-rank Tamer with him.
Renard regretted that he couldn’t do the same for Kale.
As a result, Kale would end up with a much more grateful impression of his sister, Aria, instead of him.
It wasn’t that Renard didn’t want to send a Grandmaster-rank Awakened with Kale, but the number of powerhouses who swore loyalty to him was still quite small compared to his older sister; as such, the number of people he could truly trust in this matter was minuscule.
Most of them he needed by his side in this perilous time, as he could easily be the target of assassination attempts by various hidden adversaries, both inside and outside the Royal Palace.
But in the end, Renard shook his head and stood up, "Well, we both know that it is very unlikely for Kale to come out of that Swamp Hatchery alive, as he is already an Apprentice-ranked Artificer."
He paused for a moment and added softly, "But I do truly wish that he comes out alive and well, while succeeding in hatching his Chimaera Egg."
The Prince then left without a word, while Lazek stood there frozen, his mind somewhat in a haze. It took a few more moments for the Fleshcrafter to collect his thoughts, and there was only one thing he could do, the only viable option that he could follow.
Was to head towards the Outer Zone of the Tigerwood Forest.
After speaking with Oram one last time about this matter and taking everything necessary, Lazek left immediately for that destination.

At present, in the Greenroot Guild Base...
The next day, Igor took Kale to meet another important individual: Grandmaster Henry, the son of Overlord Rivaldo.
Kale examined the man, and indeed, he looked quite similar to Sir Rivaldo.

Unlike the Overlord-rank powerhouse, Henry seemed quite easygoing and relaxed about everything.
The man smiled at Kale, "Well, Tamer Kale, it’s nice to meet you; I have heard a lot about you from the Guildmaster."
Kale replied in an amiable tone, "It’s nice to make your acquaintance, Grandmaster Henry."
Henry added, "The token given to you by Igor signifies your temporary membership in our Guild, as you will be taking part in the defensive battles against the Beast Horde attacks."
The Cursed Tamer nodded seriously, as he asked, "When will the next Beast Horde attack again?"
Henry replied after some thought, "We are expecting multiple Beast Horde attacks tomorrow, this time much stronger than before. So, you want to join in, right?"
Kale nodded, "I do."
Henry rubbed his chin for a few moments and asked another thing, "That group of mercenaries, do you want them in battle alongside you? Are they good enough?"
"Because you have to understand that in battle, death is just moments away; you never know what can happen, even for someone like you," added Henry in a cautious tone.
Kale sighed, "I know, you don’t need to worry; even if some of them die or even if I end up dying, it would be due to our own incompetence and nothing else."
Henry smiled, pleased to hear that statement.
The Cursed Tamer hesitated for a moment and asked, "Can you give me a training chamber?"
The Grandmaster blinked in slight surprise and then agreed readily, "Uh, yes, of course... of course, it was our oversight; we should have provided you with one even before you asked for it."
He spoke of another matter after a short pause, "By the way, because of your contributions in making the two Beast Hordes fight with one another, the Guildmaster has given you about 1.5 million Accredit."
"You can use that however you like, but I suggest you take a look at the resources we have in our exchange hall; you will be surprised."
"There are very rare things we possess that you cannot get inside the Empire, because they are too pricey."
"But in here, you can buy them dirt cheap."
Kale’s eyes widened; he wasn’t particularly familiar with Accredit’s currency, but even then he knew it was a great amount.
He smiled gratefully, "Then please give my gratitude to the Guildmaster; I truly am thankful."
Grandmaster Henry stated, "As for the details of which position you would be battling and what you have to do, those details will be given to you by Igor."
Kale nodded and left the place, while the Master-rank individual, Igor, led him to a training chamber on the third floor.
Opening the door, Kale examined the innards, heavily fortified; though the walls were composed of the same wood, they were much sturdier and energy-resistant.
Igor explained, "Even a Grandmaster-rank individual with their full power would not be able to even leave a scratch on the walls."
Kale said to the Master, "If you don’t mind, could you please call for my mercenary friends?"
The man went to call for them on the bottom floor; one of the annoying things about living inside this tree was that there were no magical lift mechanisms built within it; rather, there were multiple stairways leading to the very top.
But then again, since most of the people who lived and operated within this tree were powerful Awakened, it wasn’t a problem for them to go up and down it repeatedly. They would not tire.

With a mental command, Kale brought out Neo, and he said to the Hydra, "Hey buddy, let’s try something fun, shall we?"
Neo tilted all three of its heads and made the gesture of flapping its wings, showing anticipation.
Kale grinned and drew two daggers, pointing them both towards the little Hydra. "Let’s fight and see who’s stronger?"
But unlike what Kale had expected, the Hydra shook its three heads, as if losing interest.
The Cursed Tamer frowned, "Hey, I think you’re looking down on me a bit too much, don’t you think? I killed a freakin Dragon with my two hands, just so you know."
"Though it was because the system made me 10,000x stronger temporarily, but still it was me who killed it," added Kale in displeasure.
But Neo only scoffed at him, not taking its master seriously, despite the power he had shown till now.
Kale’s eyes gleamed, and for the first time, he let out every ounce of his killing intent, pressing it all upon the Nemesis Hydra.
The instant that gargantuan killing intent weighed down on Neo, the Hydra’s expression changed abruptly.
The creature’s survival instincts flared, sensing severe danger, like never before.
Because, despite Neo’s abominal nature, its DNA was built upon a Draconic base.
The title Kale had earned from killing a dragon, which was ’Dragon Bane’, was in full effect against the Nemesis Hydra, making the creature’s skin crawl.
