Chapter 47: Gene Sequence for Six Elemental Affinities

Kale, with a large and sharp knife on hand, bent down, cutting open a part of the massive snake’s body, and fresh blood flowed out, staining his own clothes, but Kale did not mind it.

In an hour, most of the Deep Earth Serpent’s body had been dissected into countless parts.

Thankfully, the knife he was using was enchanted and could cut through this creature’s tough skin.

Learning all about the anatomy of the Beast through firsthand experience. Kale looked at the Core of the Beast with special scrutiny.

But he dared not touch it; even he would be harmed greatly and maybe even die if he were brave enough to touch it directly. The sheer power of that remnant Beast Will was more than enough to cripple him mentally.

Though Kale doubted whether the system would let it happen, Kale was not interested in taking the risk.

Rather, with a mental command, the system stored the pulsing Beast Core into the storage space. The mangled parts of the mutilated Deep Earth Serpent were also removed.

After that, Kale brought out another corpse that had affinity with another element. Just like that, he continued to dissect Beasts one by one.

Ravager rank Spirit Wind Roc with the Wind Element affinity.

Ravager rank Cold Sea Jellyfish with the Water Element affinity.

Ravager rank Red Volcano Spirit with Fire Element affinity.

Ravager rank Sky Light Eagle with Light Element affinity.

Ravager rank Three Eyed Bat with Darkness Element affinity.

By the time he was done, examining all these powerful Beast corpses, his entire figure was covered in red. The chamber reeked of blood and flesh of the dissected Beasts.

The room already had built-in mechanisms; once activated, it was cleaned.

Kale also cleaned himself.

There were six drops of blood on six separate pots, each from six of the Beasts he just dissected.

Just like how he closely examined the DNA of the Dragon blood, he did the same.

Imprinting the complete information of each of the six genome sequences for the six Beasts that have an immense affinity with this world’s six elements.

Blood poured out of his nose, and he coughed up blood as well. Due to him overloading his brain.

Kale wiped off the blood and took a deep breath; his eyes were bloodshot. Despite the pain overflowing in his mind and weakness all over his body, the resolution in his eyes did not decrease; it only increased instead.

Now it was time to assemble a genetic sequence by taking specific parts from each of the DNA sequences into something that signifies the greatest potential across all six elements of reality.

A screen appeared in front of him, simply another function of the Gene Lab; on it was displayed the entire DNA sequence of all six beasts, with each part corresponding to its tag.

Kale moved his hands, separating parts of each DNA strand, trying to put them together one by one.

[Error!!! Error!!!]

[Simulation rejected, probability of assembly 0%]

Like that, Kale continued to try different scenarios. But failure notifications flashed on the screen. The first 40-50 tries of his were complete rejection with 0% probability.

[Simulation rejected, probability of assembly 1%]

[Simulation rejected, probability of assembly 3.4%]

[Simulation rejected, probability of assembly 4.1%]

Yet with every try, his understanding of what would and wouldn’t work began to click. And only on his 344th try did the Gene Lab not reject the simulation outright.

[Simulation accepted, probability of assembly 50.001%]

Kale paused, looking over the details of the sequence he just assembled. He ordered, "Attempt creation of the trait sequence...."

The screen in front of him disappeared; six inconceivably small, needle-like robotic arms manifested.

Each dove into the six drops of blood as if trying to pluck something out of it. Another screen appeared in front of Kale, showing him what was happening at the microscopic level.

Just like he did with his own hands, these energy-projected robot-like arms from the system’s Gene Lab were doing the same as he did, assembling the gene sequence in the exact order.

Unfortunately, at the cusp of the last step, red flashed on the screen.

[Assembly of the desired Gene Sequence has failed.]

[Re-evaluating previously constructed data....]

[Re-adjusting.....]

[Information has been readjusted; the attempted creation of the sequence’s probability by new calculation is 48.7%]

Kale sighed; he thought as much. The system’s estimations were not entirely accurate.

With that said, he began working on the same loop of failure once more. Still met with direct rejections, with a probability of success below 50% the first dozen times.

Of course, the percentage grew higher and higher with every try of his, but by a very minuscule degree. After another 350 more attempts, he reached a success rate worth trying once more.

[Simulation accepted, probability of assembly 71.39%]

[Attempt creation, Y/N]

Kale, of course, agreed as he watched silently, still not having much hope.

[Gene Sequence creation has succeeded.]

[Processing, more information.....]

To Kale’s surprise, this time it actually succeeded. But he did not get too excited; he waited patiently for further evaluation by the Gene Lab.

[Instabilities have been detected within the Gene Sequence. Light element shows greatest incompatibility with the rest]

Kale rubbed his chin thoughtfully and said, "Show me the details...."

The Gene Lab showed him minute details of the new incompatibility sequence, what would go wrong if he pursued it further, and how the sequence was on the verge of breaking down on its own.

Hearing all of that, Kale did not simply go back to try to assemble the sequence with a higher percentage; rather, he moved on to the next part.

The things he did till now were only one part of the five, because the desired DNA of the creature that he wanted to create would need to have the highest affinity with all five awakened pathways.

Kale, at the empty section of the chamber, brought out another corpse from the spatial pouch. It was a Stone Turtle.

Thankfully, his master had already weakened the toughest exterior of the Beast, so Kale cut into the Beast, dissecting it in the same way as he did the previous ones.

This particular Beast had the potential in its bloodline to rival the defense and impenetrably strong body of the dragons. But that potential was dormant, but present in its DNA nonetheless.

Kale then, one by one, dissected three more Beasts.

Black Swamp Tiger, due to its immense commanding ability over other species.

Red Tail Peacock, due to its mental offensive capacity.

Four-Armed Monkey, due to its creative ability, one of the only Beasts that can actually create magic Artifacts.
