Chapter 219: Dread Master

"Then I will play along."

Caelum grew slightly more serious.

In an instant, he crossed several hundred meters and appeared before Fenrir and his Master.

Fenrir saw Caelum’s face.

Then his entire body was sent flying.

Boom!

His figure tore through the air above the street, smashing through one towering building after another.

Fenrir could not resist at all.

In the end, he crashed headfirst into a lake.

A vast curtain of water erupted into the air.

Blood scattered across the sky.

On the rooftop, Fenrir’s Master stared with his mouth hanging open.

"So strong!"

The gap between them was enormous.

At a glance, he could tell that Fenrir was at an absolute disadvantage.

Despair immediately settled over him.

He could not understand why Fenrir had insisted on provoking this man.

A considerable number of the Servants who answered the summons had actually died long ago.

Their ability to appear here was entirely the work of the Secret War.

They retained all the strength and memories they had possessed in life.

As long as they won the war, they would have a chance to change the fate of their deaths.

Fenrir was somewhat unusual.

He possessed memories of dying twice.

Although the one who died the second time had only been an imitation, the Secret War had still forced those memories into Fenrir’s mind.

That was why his fury ran so deep.

He had suffered miserable deaths at Caelum’s hands twice in succession.

With Fenrir’s arrogant nature, there was no chance he could suppress that rage.

Fate and victory had both been cast aside.

Right now, he only wanted to fight Caelum.

"You have already died twice, yet you still have not improved at all."

"I thought you might surprise me, but it seems I expected too much."

Caelum casually raised one finger.

A colossal wave erupted from the lake and surged toward the heavens.

Fenrir was blasted out of the water in a wretched state.

His expression twisted with malice as a vast amount of Cursed Energy condensed into a sphere in his hand.

"Domain Collapse, Weight of Ten Thousand Forces!"

Boom!

The black sphere crushed its way through the void with terrifying power, as though it intended to erase everything before it.

Its might far surpassed the last time Fenrir had used the technique.

Fenrir shattered his own domain and transformed the attack into a True Hit technique.

Into it, he poured all the rage and strength he had accumulated over a thousand years.

The last time he returned to the world, he had possessed only one tenth of his full power.

Now he stood at his absolute peak.

The strength of this attack could not be compared to what it had been before.

"A thousand years ago, you humiliated me and sent me to my death."

"A thousand years later, you trampled my dignity again."

"With this strike, I will take back everything you owe me!"

Fenrir roared.

"Little ability, big words."

Caelum did not appear to move.

The black sphere Fenrir had unleashed vanished into thin air, as though it had never existed.

Fenrir’s gaze tightened.

Then his body began exploding piece by piece, confusion still frozen across his face.

"Ah!"

Agonizing pain tore through his mind.

Amid screams filled with hatred and unwillingness, Fenrir burst into a cloud of blood and experienced death for the third time.

A brutal exchange of fists and blows?

That was never going to happen.

At Caelum’s current Realm, a single thought from him could decide everything in existence.

That included the life and death of every living being in this world.

He had said he wanted to enjoy the game, but he was not bored enough to trade punches with them.

Unless, of course, he truly had nothing better to do and wanted some amusement.

Back on the rooftop, the young university student already lay in a pool of blood.

Corvus stood nearby in a black suit that almost blended into the night.

Without looking closely, it was difficult to notice anyone was there at all.

This battle had once again overturned his understanding of Caelum’s strength.

"I feel as though you could slaughter your way through this entire Secret War by yourself."

"In less than ten minutes, you have already killed two Servants."

Caelum had held an absolute advantage from beginning to end.

Both battles could almost be called instant kills.

That level of strength was astonishing.

Corvus could not help wondering whether he had drawn the greatest prize possible.

Caelum continued eating sunflower seeds.

"How do you know no one stronger than me will appear?"

"Four Servants have yet to make a move."

"Fair point."

Thinking back on Fenrir’s words, Corvus grew even more curious about Caelum’s identity.

He suspected Caelum had to be some legendary figure from another world.

Otherwise, there was no way his existence could span a thousand years.

Taking the guess one step further, Corvus even thought Caelum might be an actual god.

His strength certainly matched such an identity.

"That is enough for tonight."

The moment those words fell, Corvus turned his head.

Caelum had already vanished without a trace.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

At the DMB, the energy readings from the battle disappeared.

The entire process of Fenrir being annihilated by Caelum had been captured clearly.

A battle on this scale caused far too much disturbance.

There was no way to conceal it.

"The battle is over."

"Two Master and Servant pairs have been eliminated."

"The victor’s identity has been confirmed."

"It is indeed Caelum of New Kirk, the first SS rank player officially recorded on Earth."

"Within ten minutes, he killed two Servants in succession."

Van remained hidden nearby.

He had arrived before the battle began, but had chosen not to intervene.

It now seemed that decision had been entirely correct.

The strength of Tetesky and Fenrir still fell within a normal range.

According to Earth’s classification system, both possessed S rank strength.

Van could still have fought either of them.

But if the opponent was Caelum, an SS rank player, recklessly entering the battle would be nothing more than suicide.

His fate would not have been much better than Fenrir’s.

"Earth’s first SS rank player..."

Van had personally submitted that report.

At the time, he had tried to invite Caelum to join the DMB, only to be kicked away.

The memory remained painfully vivid.

The significance of the Secret War to Earth was obvious.

The DMB could never allow another party to claim the final victory without resistance.

No matter what, they had to fight for it.

But to win, Caelum was an obstacle they could not avoid.

"This is not the right time to act."

"We should wait a little longer."

"Understood."

Van spoke to the DMB.

"I hope our SS rank support can be deployed when necessary."

"No problem."

"We are here."

Derek and Guy answered through the communication channel.

The two of them had remained on standby at a base outside Travira, ready to support Van at any moment.

Inside the base, Derek watched the footage of Caelum repeatedly and fell into thought.

He turned to Guy.

"Does this person look familiar to you?"

At first, Guy had not thought so.

But after being asked, the longer he looked at Caelum, the more familiar the man seemed.

He frowned alongside Derek and began searching his memory.

"He really does look familiar."

Elsewhere, a short old man stood in midair.

He had a hooked nose and a deeply sinister appearance.

His narrowed eyes carried a scheming light.

"The Divine Firmament Codex..."

From the world of Immortal Ascension, the Celestial Arc Realm, and the Divine Path Order.

Dread Master.

He had once tried to seize Caelum’s inheritance outside the Worldbreaker Physique Divine Estate.

Caelum had later intimidated him with the Divine Firmament Blade.

From that day onward, a grudge had existed between them.
