Chapter 411: The Sovereign Twins
"What is this?!!" Cat lady yelled, struggling desperately with the thick tentacles surrounding her. The appendages were cold and slick.
"Use your spirit energy!" The fifth Aeon yelled at her, his voice tight with an unfamiliar edge of panic. He flexed his massive muscles, attempting to shatter the bindings through sheer physical supremacy.
"I can’t, Spirit energy didn’t work."
"Then use Divine energy!!" He yelled, as his own pure divine energy burst out from his core, radiating a terrifying crimson light that temporarily created microscopic cracks on the surface of the tentacles holding him.
The Cat lady quickly nodded, her playful demeanor entirely gone. She gritted her fangs and forcefully switched to her divine energy, channeling the absolute power of an Aeon. But to her profound shock, not a single, microscopic crack appeared on the dark tentacles binding her limbs. The appendages simply absorbed her divine output as if she were offering them a meal.
"This?! Impossible, only a Sovereign stage cultivator can hold me down so effortlessly." She muttered, her face turning completely pale as her existential dread set in. Before a true Sovereign stage cultivator, she, despite sitting proudly at the Peak King stage, was nothing but a fragile insect caught in a web.
"You actually are sensible."
The two trapped Aeons sharply turned their heads toward the melodious voice. From the shadows of the ruined tomb, they saw a breathtakingly beautiful lady walking gracefully towards them. A long, spade-tipped demon tail swished lazily behind her, and two leathery, abyssal wings folded neatly against her back. A beautiful, yet chillingly predatory smile rested on her flawless face.
"Who the hell are you?!!" The fifth Aeon yelled at her, desperately trying to mask his terror with rage.
’The hell?!! What type of monster is this? A Sovereign stage?!! This type of powerhouse should be in fourth world, running a city.’ He thought, his understanding of the universe shattering. Earth was supposed to be a newly mutated, backward world; finding a single Sovereign here defied every known law.
"Oh, I am Vespina." Vespina flashed them another charming smile, completely unbothered by his outburst. As she stepped closer, the thick tentacles binding them suddenly split open at the tips, revealing terrifying, jagged mouths aiming hungrily at the two Aeons’ exposed necks.
"Your Vitality would be so delicious." She said, her eyes glowing with demonic gluttony, right as two synchronized voices instantly cut her off from above.
"Do you want to go against the Master?"
"You don’t want that."
"....?!"
Vespina immediately frowned, her demonic tail twitching in annoyance. She recognized those particular voices entirely too well. She exhaled a heavy sigh, the dark mouths on her tentacles snapping shut, and turned around to look at the massive stone pillars flanking the courtyard. Standing atop them were what appeared to be two fifteen-year-old twins.
The one standing gracefully on the left pillar was a beautiful girl. Intricate, glowing blue dragon scales patterned her skin and framed her delicate face, while her pupil-less white eyes remained fixed coldly on Vespina.
The second, standing on the right, was a handsome boy. His piercing golden gaze was devoid of warmth, and the pristine white scales running along his arms and neck seemed to defy physics, passively absorbing the ambient sunlight.
These two weren’t mere prodigies; they were the legendary beings hatched from the two primordial Eggs Genevieve had entrusted to Mirabella in the past. The Lightning dragon, the boy, known as Barak. And the Water Dragon, the girl, known as Damila. They were twins, and they were terrifyingly powerful.
"Another two Sovereign stage cultivators?!!!"
Both the 5th and 11th Aeons exclaimed in sheer, unadulterated terror. The sheer density of the energy suffocating the air was undeniable. But what chilled the invaders to their very bones wasn’t just the sheer impossibility of their cultivation stages—it was the fact that these supreme beings had just casually said the word, Master.
’Who the hell can command three sovereign stage cultivators on earth?!’ The 5th Aeon thought, his mind spiraling as he stared blankly at the two fifteen-year-old looking kids standing above them like indifferent gods.
"I wasn’t going to hurt them, just take a very Tinyyyy... Vitality." Vespina said, pouting slightly and emphasizing the word ’Tiny’ by pinching her fingers together, trying to downplay her lethal intentions.
The two dragons completely ignored her excuse and simply narrowed their eyes at her.
"Still not allowed." Barak said, casually jumping down from the towering statue. He landed without making a single sound, the earth perfectly absorbing his momentum.
"Hey! In ranks, I am your Big Sister, at least listen to my words!" Vespina yelled, pointing an accusatory finger at Barak. The young lightning dragon simply tilted his head at her in a slow, mocking gesture of defiance.
BOOOM!!!
Without a single hand sign or incantation, a blinding stroke of pure golden light instantly appeared in the sky above. The concussive sound of the thunderclap shook not only Vespina but jolted the two captive Aeons violently in their bindings.
’That was a heavenly Lightning?!!’ The Cat lady thought, violently trembling. Heavenly Lightning was the absolute judgment of the world’s consciousness, a force that even veteran Sovereigns feared.
’Impossible, is this kid blessed by the heavens?!’ The 5th Aeon thought to himself, his massive ego entirely crushed by the revelation of the boy’s affinity.
"If I am you, I won’t upset my Big Brother." Damila fluidly jumped down from her perch, effortlessly resting her back against the base of the statue, her white eyes observing the hostages with detached curiosity.
"I wasn’t upsetting him! I was just telling him I am older!" Vespina yelled, her aura flaring in a mix of embarrassment and frustration.
"What is the fuse about?!! Do you know you’re disturbing the Master?!!"
"....?!"
The whole group instantly froze and turned their heads respectfully towards the darkened tomb entrance. They watched in absolute silence as a breathtakingly beautiful lady with long, flowing silver hair walked slowly out of the shadows, coming to a halt at the entrance. The very moment she stepped into the light, her overwhelming presence instantly enveloped the whole space.
Seeing the beautiful, silver-haired lady, the 5th and 11th Aeons felt their souls almost shatter. They almost collapsed entirely to the ground, their knees buckling under the astronomical pressure, kept upright only by the demonic tentacles still firmly holding them back.
"A... A peak Sovereign stage?!!!" The two screamed simultaneously, their voices breaking. To see three Sovereigns was a anomaly; to see a Peak Sovereign hiding on Earth meant they had walked directly into the maw of an ancient, sleeping god.
"Didn’t you just heard me?" Adira turned her terrifying gaze slowly to the two captives. Instantly, under the absolute weight of her killing intent, the 5th Aeon kept shut, unable to draw breath.
"Big Sister, Adira! He is showing me attitude!!" Vespina quickly yelled, pointing a complaining finger at Barak in an attempt to deflect the incoming reprimand.
"Oh?"
Adira turned her attention towards the two, staring blankly at Barak. Instantly, the cold, arrogant demeanor of the Lightning Dragon vanished, replaced by a bright, flawlessly innocent smile on his face.
"She is lying, Big Sister!! I didn’t say anything from the very start! We simply stopped her from killing those two, and she yelled at him." Barak yelled, seamlessly placing a deeply hurt, victimized expression on his face, his golden eyes widening innocently.
"Ehh?!! Don’t use that expression here!! And when did I yell at you?!" Vespina yelled at him, completely flabbergasted. This ancient, devastatingly powerful kid was actually playing her like a fiddle in front of the second-in-command.
Damila sighed softly, lightly shaking her head at their endless, childish drama, and turned her attention back to Adira.
"Second Big Sister, what about Master?" She asked, her tone entirely serious, bringing the focus back to their ultimate priority.
"Master is busy for now... Just guard this place." Adira said, her authority unquestionable, and gracefully turned around. She walked back inside the pitch-black depths of the tomb, completely ignoring Vespina and Barak’s continued bickering.
