Chapter 409: Big Sister!!

"Thank goodness!!! Help me!! This bitch destroyed my weapon!!" Zayn instantly yelled, his massive five-meter form trembling as he pointed a shaking, clawed finger at the woman before him.

"How dare a weakling like you speak to me?!!" The zombie butler snapped, his voice a dry, grating rasp that carried the chilling finality of the grave. Before anyone could even process his movement, he pointed a single, decaying finger at the giant lion. Without a sound, a neat, smoking hole instantly appeared right in the center of the Lion’s forehead. Zayn’s eyes rolled back, and his massive body dropped completely dead onto the scorched ground.

"....?!"

Everyone on the defensive walls was paralyzed with absolute horror. They watched in stunned silence as Zayn’s massive form rapidly collapsed in on itself, calcifying until it turned into a polished, blood-red stone. The crystalline orb floated into the air, flying straight towards the Zombie butler’s outstretched hand. He caught the stone with practiced ease, and right before the eyes of the terrified humans, he casually tossed it into his mouth and swallowed it whole.

"Hmm... Delicious." He said, letting out a dark, satisfied sigh as he hovered effortlessly in the air before the Leader. The sheer cannibalistic ruthlessness of the Aeons hung heavily over the battlefield.

"Hmm... You must be the Protector of this region." He said, adjusting his immaculate butler cuffs before bowing his head with perfect aristocratic etiquette at the lady:

"I am Vican, the 10th Aeon... May I know your name?" Vican looked up at her, his dead crimson eyes locking onto hers.

"Natasha."

"It’s an honor meeting you, Natasha--"

"--Just get to the point!! If you want to fight, come on!! I am not scared of you!" Natasha violently cut Vican off. Her aura burst out from her body like a tidal wave, cracking the ground beneath her boots.

’This thing killed and ate one of its own elite members without even blinking,’ she thought, her instincts hyper-alert:

’There is absolutely no doubt that this creature is a million times more ruthless than the lion.’

"I am here for two reasons." Vican calmly raised two rotting fingers, entirely unfazed by her flaring energy:

"First reason, I want to formally invite you to join the Aeons. One of our core members just died in battle recently. With your impressive strength, you will be formally made the 12th Aeon." He said, offering the position as if it were a supreme grand prize.

’Died in battle?! You literally just executed him right in front of me... Wait, even with my Peak King stage strength, I still wouldn’t even reach the top ten of these monsters?’ Natasha was a bit stunned internally by the terrifying scale of the enemy’s hierarchy, but she showed absolutely no expression on her cold face as the zombie calmly continued:

"Second Reason: You surrender the lives of everyone in this city. Of course, if you cooperate with us, we won’t kill you." He explained, laying out the terms of execution with a serene smile.

Natasha scoffed, her purple eyes flashing with a dangerous light. "Listen well... My answer to you is very simple!" She said. In a flash of light, a long, radiant legendary class sword appeared firmly in her hand, huming with raw power:

"I refuse both offers."

The zombie butler sighed softly, a sound of genuine disappointment: "I knew you would say that. You heroes have never learned. Just because your small world has recently mutated, and could now hold even a Sovereign stage cultivator, you foolishly think you’re standing over everyone!"

Vican clenched his rotting fist. Instantly, a gigantic, blood-red eye appeared high in the clouds above him, staring down at Natasha with absolute malice.

"Get lost."

Vican casually waved his hand. A blinding, hyper-concentrated beam of destructive red light shot directly out from the massive eyeball, heading straight toward the human Leader.

"This?!"

BOOOOOM!!

The apocalyptic attack smashed right into Natasha’s defensive posture before she could fully parry, the explosive force sent her flying violently backward through the air. She tore through the sky, desperately shifting her weight before stabilizing her body, landing heavily on the shattered ground right before the massive city wall, leaving deep trenches where her boots dragged.

"We are both Peak King stage cultivators, so our individual skills and chosen weapons will make the absolute difference... I just hope you can withstand mine."

The zombie raised his hand above his head to command the celestial eye for a finishing blow, but he suddenly paused mid-motion.

’Such suffocating, absolute killing intent.’ He thought, his dead heart freezing. He turned his head sharply, staring intently in the distant direction of the Han River, before lowering his gaze back to Natasha.

"Who is the one who killed the one hundred and ninety-five Gatekeepers?" He asked, his voice suddenly sharp, demanding an immediate answer.

"Hmph!" Natasha scoffed, defiantly stepping forward through the smoke as violent waves of purple energy burst out from her:

"You aren’t qualified to know that." She spat out, raising her sword.

Vican slowly lowered his hand, completely ignoring her defiance. His advanced senses were frantically tracking another terrifying presence moving towards his exact location with frightening, ungodly speed:

’That person... That signature must belong to a true Sovereign stage cultivator, or maybe even higher.’ He thought. The next moment, he willed the giant red eye to vanish from the sky:

"Miss Natasha. We will surely meet again... I am truly sorry to cut our duel short." He said, turning around and already stretching his rotting hand forward to tear open the spatial dimensions for an immediate retreat.

"Cut it short? Why are you suddenly so scared?"

Vican froze instantly, the hairs on his dead neck standing up. He slowly turned his head around, his eyes widening as he saw a small, pristine white-winged Cat sitting perfectly upright on the edge of the stone wall, casually staring down at him with a pair of highly intelligent eyes.

’A cat?!’ He was completely stunned, his mind failing to compute the creature’s entry.

".....?!!"

Tang Lu and the surviving elite soldiers on the wall also blinked in utter disbelief, staring blankly at the winged cat which seemed to have literally appeared out of thin air without triggering a single magical sensor.

"When did this cat get here?" Tang Lu asked in sheer shock, clutching his forehead.

"Did it... Did it just speak?" The lady officer exclaimed in pure horror, backing away from the ledge.

"Big Sister, you don’t have to fight this!!" Natasha yelled, her fierce demeanor instantly melting into deep respect as she looked up at Cupcake.

"Oh, I am not here to fight. I would be dirtying my paws fighting a filthy thing like this." Cupcake said calmly, grooming her front leg before lowering her sharp gaze down to Natasha.

"Why the delay? You can’t kill it?" She asked, her voice carrying an old, detached authority.

"You are wrong, Big Sister... I was just about to kill him." Natasha said, her grip tightening as the legendary sword vibrated violently in her hand.

"Alright... Go ahead then." Cupcake nodded her head elegantly, settling back down onto the stone.

Vican stared back and forth between the two, a little dumbfounded and deeply unnerved. He knew deep down in his primal instincts that he couldn’t face this strange little winged cat, but what on earth gave the human girl such absolute confidence?

’These two... Is this strange cat the mythical entity who slaughtered the Gatekeepers?’ He thought, his mind racing, and chose to ask aloud.

"Are you the one who killed the Gatekeepers?!!"

"Gatekeepers? You mean those puny, insignificant dragons?" Cupcake asked, casually turning her gaze to the undead zombie, and added with a bored yawn:

"I only killed 20 of them." Cupcake said, and lazily pointed a sharp claw down at Natasha: "She killed five..."

Vican’s frown deepened into a mask of pure dread. The winged cat didn’t directly answer his question about who killed the rest of the one hundred and ninety-five, but to be able to effortlessly slaughter 20 and 5 gatekeepers respectively like common beasts:

’These two are completely weird.’ He thought. Refusing to risk his life against a anomaly, he quickly tore open the spatial rift before him:

"We will meet again." He said coldly, and instantly vanished inside the dark void, the spatial tear closing completely shut behind him.

Natasha lowered her weapon, turning her eyes back up to the wall. "Big Sister! Why did you let him escape?" Natasha asked, a hint of frustration in her voice.

Cupcake stretched her wings out slightly, looking out toward the horizon where the real storm was gathering.

"We weren’t tasked to do so."
