Chapter 67: Are You In Love With Princess Kings?

I’m so fucking happy today. I can’t believe I actually passed that quiz test. It was a total surprise because I never really thought I’d get the chance to go on a date with Yuki.

Yes, that’s right. I’m having a real date with Yuki today. This entire week has been so annoying for me, just one thing after another, so getting good news, no, this is great news, feels like finally being able to breathe.

Right now, I’m in my room with Sasha, while Malo is down in the kitchen trying to find something to put in his belly. I don’t know why he thinks he can just walk in and start opening my cabinets. Him feeling so at home in my house, even going into the kitchen like he owns the place, no, I don’t want to think about that right now. I have bigger things to worry about.

Also, Eriko, Paye, and the kids went camping this morning. I didn’t go with them because of my date tonight, and they won’t be back until tomorrow afternoon. It’s quiet without them, which is actually a nice change.

Sasha is helping me pick out an outfit for tonight. She’s been going through my wardrobe for a while now, pulling things out and tossing them aside. I’m lying on my bed with my arms folded, just staring at her because I’m already starting to regret asking her for help.

"These clothes are not worthy of a date," Sasha said, holding up a pair of faded pants. "Jeans, hoodies, jean jackets, baggy shirts... girl, why are you such a tomboy?"

"I am not a tomboy," I shot back, sitting up a little. "In Redwood, most of my friends are boys, and I have to dress like this just to blend in. And besides, Redwood is basically a snow land. If you wear skinny clothes there, you’ll literally freeze to death."

I watched as she kept throwing clothes out of the wardrobe onto the floor. I swear, I’ll be so annoyed if she doesn’t arrange them all back exactly how they were when she’s done. My room is small enough as it is without her making a mountain of fabric in the middle of it.

Then she stopped. She pulled out one of the overalls Princess gave me a while ago.

"This one," Sasha said, her eyes lighting up. "You can wear it with this white shirt. This is the only thing in here that is actually worthy to wear on a date."

I paused, staring at the fabric in her hands. That was the very first overall Princess gave me. It was back when we first had sex.

"No, I’m not wearing that," I said firmly.

"Why? Is it because it’s Princess’s?" Sasha asked, tilting her head.

"What? How did you even know that?"

"I worked for Princess for a whole week, remember? I handled her entire closet. I’ve seen this exact design before, and the tag has her initials on it... PK. All of her custom clothes have them stitched inside.

She turned the collar and showed me the label. I just rolled my eyes and looked away.

"I don’t care. I’m still not wearing that overall. I’m already carrying her pups. I don’t need to be wearing her clothes on top of that. I’m even supposed to return the ones I still have at some point."

Sasha didn’t put the clothes down. She walked closer and stood right in front of me, holding the overall against her chest.

"Are you in love with Princess Kings?" she asked.

That question came out of nowhere. It felt like a punch to the gut. What is she even trying to do by bringing this up right now?

"Sasha, you’re still on your trial period for the group," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "If you go overboard with these personal questions, I’m going to score you low."

I hoped she’d just drop it and go back to the clothes.

"Today is not about the group, Faye. It’s about you and your date tonight. But you don’t want to wear this specific outfit. Is it really because you’re in love with her?"

"Sasha, I am not in love with Princess Kings. We’re not even in the same category. We don’t rhyme, and we definitely can’t mix. The only thing binding us together right now is the pups. We wouldn’t even be this close or talking to each other if I wasn’t pregnant."

That’s the truth. The only reason Princess is even in my life is because I’m carrying her pups. They’re the only reason we see each other or can even stay in the same room for more than five minutes without a fight. I hated her in the first place anyway..

"You know why everyone is so jealous of you in school?" Sasha asked, ignoring my denial. "They used to only be jealous of Kiara. She was the only one close enough to kiss and date the Alpha Princess. Princess never looked at anyone else, not even the ones who tried to seduce her with everything they had. So yeah, people may be jealous, but they’re also just wondering how it was even possible for you to have sex with the Alpha Princess. In their eyes, you’re replacing Kiara."

Now I finally see why Kiara feels so threatened whenever I’m around.

"Look, let’s just not talk about Princess anymore. Today is not about me and her. It’s about me and Yuki," I said.

I stood up and took the clothes from her hands. I walked over to the wardrobe to start putting them back on the hangers. I needed to move, to do something with my hands so I wouldn’t have to keep talking about Princess.

I noticed Sasha was about to sit down on Kaye’s bed to rest.

"Don’t sit on my nephew’s bed. He doesn’t like it when people touch his things."

She immediately stood back up and moved to sit on mine instead. Kaye really does hate it when people touch his territory, especially his bed. He likes it perfectly neat, exactly how he left it. As much as I hate sharing a room with him, I make sure I don’t cross his rules. I really don’t want to deal with his tantrums when he gets back.

I stared at the overall for a second. I wondered how bad it would actually be if I wore it on my date with Yuki tonight. It’s just a piece of clothing, right? It doesn’t mean anything. And if Sasha thinks it’s the only thing that looks good, maybe I should just wear it and get it over with.

"Okay, fine. I’ll wear this one. You can start arranging what you scattered on the floor while I go check on Malo in the kitchen. He better not be eating my good snacks."

I left the room before she could say anything else, hearing her let out a loud groan behind me.

Well, she’s the one who fucking made the mess. She can be the one to clean it up.
