Chapter 270: Beam And Her Weird Dreams

After doing my homework, I was sitting there trying to solve the work Beam had given me. It was math equations.

While making calculations, my eyes were on the Principal, who had taken her time to sit at the teacher’s desk to supervise the class. She was sitting perfectly straight in the high backed leather chair, her fingers typing away on a laptop while the quiet clicking of the keys filled the silent room.

I won’t lie, I never once liked that lady. My brother telling me that the Petros are like the tamers of Alphas made me wonder what she was trying to do with my girl.

Princess never had any health issues until she... arrived. Those glasses are like a disguise to me. I feel like she is a villain, worse than Yuki. The frames she always wore seemed like a mask to hide what was really going on behind her cold, calculating eyes.

I kept staring until she suddenly lifted her head from the glowing screen, her sharp gaze cutting straight across the rows of empty desks to lock directly onto mine.

Obviously, I did not look away. I wanted her to know that I was looking at her. I held my ground, keeping my jaw set tight as I glared back, letting her see the pure suspicion written all over my face.

She didn’t even blink, turning her attention back down to her computer as if I were nothing but a minor annoyance. Then her phone buzzed quietly against the wood, and she picked it up, slipping out into the hallway with smooth, silent steps.

"What is with the stare?" Beam’s voice made me turn to her. She was sitting beside me. Her arms were folded across the desk, her sharp eyes tracking my movement as I finally tore my gaze away from the empty doorway.

"Just admiring her glasses, they look nice." I said, my eyes fixed on the book. I tapped the eraser of my pencil against the math problem, trying to sound completely casual.

"Is it difficult? I can help you break down the problem so you can solve it easily," Beam suggested. She reached out, her finger pointing toward the messy fractions I had scrambled near the margin.

"It’s geometry. I got this."

"But you have been on that question for over twenty minutes now." Beam pointed out, her eyebrows raising as she tapped her own watch.

"Well, that’s because my mind was somewhere else. Don’t worry about it, I got it." I muttered, shoving my pencil back down onto the paper and forcing myself to trace the angles of the triangle until the math finally started making sense.

After solving the question, Beam dragged the notebook toward her side, sliding her red pen across the lines before nodding her head in approval.

"Okay, another question," I said, wanting more. I needed to keep my hands busy so I wouldn’t spend the whole afternoon losing my mind over Princess’s condition.

"Hey, Faye, I need to ask you something very important," Beam said. She leaned in closer, whispering, not wanting Principal Silviana, who was still on a call outside the classroom, to hear. She cast a quick, nervous glance toward the glass window of the door, her shoulders hunching forward.

"What is it?" I whispered back. "Is it the Principal? Something is off about her, right? Acting like we are the only students in the school..."

"No, not her," Beam said, then reconsidered her words. She paused, chewing on her lower lip for a second as she listened to the muffled voice in the hallway. "Okay, maybe you are right about her. Something is definitely off. I don’t know why she is making it her priority to supervise us when there are many teachers in this school. Why would a student be teaching another student and not the teachers? It feels like she is just keeping us here for an unknown reason."

"I knew it."

Even Beam noticed it. That bitch is keeping me here on purpose, but why? The realization sent a sudden jolt of adrenaline through my veins, my grip tightening around my pencil until the wood creaked.

I’m going to figure it out, and when I do, I’m going to make her pay for whatever she is doing. She wasn’t going to keep me separated from my family without a fight.

"So what is it you wanted to talk about?" I asked Beam, leaning across the desk to catch her lowered voice.

Beam lowered her voice as she spoke. Her eyes darted around the empty classroom one more time, her cheeks turning a slight shade of pink.

"Have you ever dreamed about having sex with someone who is not your girlfriend?"

What the...

My mind completely stalled out, my eyes widening as I stared at her.

"...I have dreams about having sex, but it’s definitely my girlfriend who is in my dreams because she is all I think about. W-why did you ask that question?" I stuttered, the words tripping over each other as I tried to process the sudden change in conversation.

"Look, lately I have been having dreams about sex, and it’s not Tisha. Whenever I close my eyes, I see a face, but the face is so bright that it blinds my eyes. When they touch me, I feel like it’s electricity coursing through my veins... but in a good way. When they kiss me, I melt, wanting more of them, and when they—"

"Wait, wait, wait. Hold it right there. We have only started talking to each other for just a week now, and you are telling me what you do inside your dreams?" I said. I threw my hands up in front of me, stopping her before she could get into any more graphic details.

Beam and I are not friends, so why in the world would she be telling me her naughty dreams? It felt completely bizarre to be sitting here sharing bedroom secrets with a girl I barely tolerated a week ago.

"Oh, that’s right. I thought you were someone I could talk to, but it seems that I can only do that with a friend. I once told Princess, but she just went quiet and gave me a weird stare that looked judgmental." Beam muttered, pulling her notebook back toward herself with a small, embarrassed huff.

"What about Kiara? You can tell her. Maybe she will understand your dream... perfectly. She happens to be your friend."

Obviously, I could be wrong, but if I had to put money on it, I’d say that faceless girl in her dream was Kiara.

As for Princess, maybe she stayed quiet because she didn’t want to put that thought into Beam’s head.

"I don’t like her. The only reason I’m friends with her is because Princess is friends with her." Beam stated flatly, her voice losing all its softness as she spoke about the girl.

"You hate Kiara?" I said quickly. I leaned forward, my interest instantly spiking at the words.

"Not hate. Hate is a very strong word. I just don’t like her personality."

"Me too. I don’t like her. Everything about her. Now we have something in common." I said, a genuine smile finally breaking across my face as I realized we were on the exact same page about the girl.

"I’ll make a recommendation for you. My boss at PP’s Store might have an idea about your dream. I’m going there tonight, so I will ask him about your weird sexual dream." I added, tapping my chin as the idea formed in my head.

Well, I have something to do there today, and I don’t care what time I close. I am going to his shop.
